Story
ABOUT LOUISE Louise is a super sweet 1 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound. She was originally found wandering as a stray in West Virginia with her friend, Thelma. Their local animal control did not have space for them, so HAP stepped in to save them from euthanasia. While Louise was found with Thelma, they are not a bonded pair, but can be adopted together. Louise requires a home with another dog to help build her confidence. We aren't sure of her past or what she may have endured, but she can be a bit reserved or nervous when first meeting people. Once she knows you're safe, she is sure to melt into your lap for love. Louise enjoys playtime, but is a huge fan of naptime! When she's not taking a snooze or playing with her friends, she is likely nose to the ground sniffing away on a walk! In true hound nature, she enjoys telling you what's on her mind and letting out some howls. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
We'll also keep you updated on Louise's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Hello, my name is: DollyDOB: 08/22/2021Sex/Breed: Spayed female Treeing Walker Coonhound mixWeight: 50 lbsFriends: Dogs, older kidsTraits: Shy at first, sweet, curious, athleticRescued From: Owner surrenderDolly was rescued from a desperate situation. She was one of 30 dogs and puppies living in a small home. Their owners reached out for help due to medical issues, and the local rural shelter was unable to provide them any assistance other than euthanasia due to overcrowding. We are grateful help was sought and we were able to do our part to keep these dogs safe! If you remember the Bluey litter of heeler/hound puppies we had available for adoption last summer, Dolly is their mama! She is now ready to find a forever home of her very own. This beautiful girl is quite the catch! She is great with other dogs but does not rely on them. Whether she is an only dog, has a bunch of doggy siblings, or simple socializes regularly in her forever family, she'll be content. She'd prefer a home without cats. Dolly loves human interaction once she gets to know you. She can be a little shy at first but is quick to trust if given the chance. Dolly walks great on a leash, and she is house- and crate-trained. This girl has looks AND brains! She is super smart and treat motivated. Her ears are as soft as velvet - just like her personality! We absolutely adore this mama and cannot wait to find her the devoted forever family she so desperately deserves! All our dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
This is dags. We got him as a rehome situation from someone who couldn't take them with onto the next stage in life. He is 10 months old, pretty high energy. He does respond to his name and can recall when he feels like it. Boy is good in the car, good at the dog park, good with other dogs kids and cats. His ideal person would need someone to spend time with him to train him right. He is potty and crate trained just needs more then we can give him. He is still basically a giant puppy.

Story
Cooper is a 5 year old Black and Tan Coonhound Mix. Cooper has been with our family since he was 10 weeks old & is a very energetic, lovable dog. He would thrive with an owner who can give him love as well as someone who is looking for a furry best friend. He is very energetic, so someone with a big yard/property or someone who enjoys walks and runs that can take him out to play is ideal. Cooper has the natural instincts of a hunter and has caught several small animals in our backyard and I think could be a good hunting companion should that be of interest. He can be skittish when he first meets new people in the home but will warm up to them. Cooper should not be in a home with young children.

Story
Willow is a sweet 2 year old hound mix that is reported to be very chill and loves a good movie. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Willow loves people, dogs, chew toys and looking out the window. She dislikes her crate, cats and being alone. When her foster Mom leaves, she just keeps her in one room instead of a crate and she is happy! Although she is learning to be confident, she still gets scared of things like thunder and other loud noises. Willow will need a dog sibling, and a fenced in yard. ADOPTION PROCESS 1.
