Story
This one broke our hearts twice – once for Parker, the sweet hound being surrendered, and then again for his kind human, who only wants the best for her pup.Parker was a loyal companion and the apple of his human mom’s eye. This healthy, housetrained, never destructive, sometimes silly, always adoring, 3-year-old Walker Hound absolutely thrived in his loving home! Then, his mom got sick. She tried so hard to care for him, but she was too ill to give Parker the exercise and attention he needs. Treatments and procedures kept her away from home for very long periods of time, and Parker was getting anxious and lonely.Knowing her condition wasn’t going to improve, this lady made an incredible sacrifice – she gave up her best friend, her source of comfort and joy, so that HE could live a full life. Her wish is for Parker to find a loving person or family who can give him the time, walks, and attention he deserves.Folks, not everyone has friends or family who are able or willing to take in a dog if they fall ill – so we’re looking to you, our family of dog-lovers, to help get Parker home! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!Parker’s mom told us that in the home, he got nervous when doors were closed – he loves people so much, he just wants to be able to see what they’re doing! He loves to play with soft, squeaky toys, sniff all the outside sniffs, and perch by the window to supervise neighborhood activities. At night, he sleeps soundly in bed after he’s tucked in with the blanket over his head.We hope you’ll have sweet dreams soon, Parker.Your family’s out there, waiting to tuck you in at night.Visiting hours are 9am to noon, every day including weekends & holidays.Parker is waiting for you at 80 Butler Farm Rd., Hampton, VA.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

This stunning young man is Mr.Wiggins! Mr. Wiggins was transferred to the NSPCA from another shelter in hopes of finding his forever home. Mr.Wiggins still has lots of puppy energy left and would thrive in a home that is active or has a large yard for him to play and run around in. We are unaware of Mr.Wiggins past and therefore are unsure if he is good with kids, cats, or dogs but he is willing to give them a try! If you are interested in this sweet young man ask a member of the staff for more information today!

Story
Our bouncy Ben was picked up by a local animal control.  He was very thin, heart worm positive, and had intestinal parasites.  All of that is behind him now as he has completed treatment for all and is ready to find his forever home.  We really should have named him Tigger as he bounces every where he goes.  He loves to play and also can be a snuggler when he has gotten his energy out.  We don't know how he is with cats as he hasn't been around them.  Ben knows sit and down and is eager to learn more.  He would like a family who will continue with training, and include him in their adventures, keeping in mind that he is a hound and must always be leashed when out because he likes to follow his nose.  He would be a great walking, running, hiking buddy.  If you are that special family who would love  this boy forever, please contact Rainbow Animal Rescue at rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.com or 757-472-1583November 3, 2024, 9:38 am
