Fortunately for Pickles, we were able to take him into our rescue and now he is ready for his forever home! Pickles has the most stunning amber eyes. Nola is an energetic and loving pup who needs an equally attentive and energetic home. My apartment just isn’t a good fit for her energy! She is housebroken, tolerates a crate (especially at night), and is learning good manners on the leash. She’s done play group with other dogs without any problems, but struggles to control herself with other animals on the elevator. Introducing her to another family pet would require an experienced trainer or handler - otherwise, she will do great on her own! She’s never shown any hostility to people, just a lot of enthusiasm.

Story
Chip was found in rural Arkansas as a stray. After spending a few weeks trying to find his owner, we realized he was probably an abandoned puppy. As Arkansas only has kill shelters, my wife and I elected to bring him home to Chicago to surrender him. As we had a dog, we had him spend two days at her parents because we have a dog, and didn't know this new dog's medical needs. When we went to pick him up to take him to a shelter, my in laws said they were going to keep him. Chip is a Catahoulan leopard dog and is around 70 lbs, so we begged her parents (who are in their early 70s) NOT to take him, but they dug their heels and demanded it. Now, years later, Chip has become too much for them. He is territorial and aggressive towards their grandchildren. They appear to be leaning towards euthanasia, but Chip is truly a good dog who is simply with the wrong people. Please, we would love to find another solution for this sweet animal.

If you’re reading this, we here in the rescue already know you’re a special person. It takes a very special, kind, loving, extremely caring person to consider adopting an adult/senior dog. The world needs more people like you and dogs like Gunnar need people like you. Gunner’s family has decided they would like to rehome him through no fault of his own. Gunner might be a little set in his ways, but who isn’t at this age? Gunner would be great with an older couple, no other dogs and not lots of small kids in and out. He is not a huge fan of little dogs. He hasn’t ever bitten anyone or anything, but has snapped at some smaller dogs who get on his nerves 😂. We could easily put you in touch with his current family and they can tell you all about him if interested. This guy just needs a great home to live out the rest of his days and in and a family that won’t turn their back on him again. Once adopted, Gunner will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to his new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185.
