Story
D E L A N E Y is a joy and a jewel of a pup; 20 months, 45 lbs of innocent love and curiosity. After living from 8 weeks to February of this year in an apartment with a lonely human since she was loved but not exposed to the big world. She has graduated training school and just loves the outdoors and a comfy indoor life. She walks very well on a leash, she gets very excited to meet other dogs, especially larger ones and amuses herself quite well with all her toys. She is an active girl and will do best in a home with a roomy back yard and an active human who ideally works from home and can exercise her daily. She gets along very well with other dogs, is interested in cats but has not lived with them and she will absolutely entertain herself chasing squirrels and watching birds outdoors. She is not the least bit destructive except with her stuffed toys and tug of rope. She is currently in a foster home in Dallas. Fully vetted and ready for her furever home! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Delaney is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.August 15, 2024, 9:45 pm

Howdy I’m Sophie My dad died suddenly and my sister and I were left to fend for ourselves until someone came to help and realized we needed help too. It was a scary few weeks but we are both safe now and hoping to find someone to love us as much as our dad did.  I’m past all those youngster shenanigans and love to cuddle, hang out with friends and spend time in the sunshine. Walks would be great and I won’t complain if you have treats to share. If you are a Weim lover you already know that we get better as we age! Falling for me... Her soft, expressive eyes tell a tale of a loving soul who finds joy in the familiar and navigates the new with cautious curiosity. Bee's Daily Adventures: Each day for Bee is a quiet journey through well-loved paths. She finds solace in the predictability of her daily routines, from sunlit morning play to evening snuggles. The company of other dogs is always a delight, as she engages with a shy but genuine playfulness. Her toys, though few, are cherished companions in her tranquil world. Bee's Gentle Approach to Life: While Bee may tread carefully around new experiences and prefers the quietude of her environment, her approach to life is a lesson in finding beauty in simplicity. She reminds us that there's comfort in routine, and even in a familiar world, there's always something new to cherish. Bee’s Playful Side: In the safety of her known surroundings, Bee's playful nature emerges. She might cautiously approach a toy as if it's a new discovery each day, bringing a smile to those who know her well. Bee’s Philosophy: "Life doesn't have to be loud to be full of joy. In the whispers of the familiar, in the quiet play with friends, and in the gentle discovery of everyday things, there's a world of wonder waiting to be appreciated."Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 5:48 pm

Story
Clark is a 4-year-old, 78-pound, neutered male and a giant sweetie with a lot to say.  He came into rescue as a reactive, blustery street fellow, and with good socialization and a lot of work (including the help of a trainer), Clark Griswold has come a long way! Clark sings when he is excited getting ready to go for a walk.  He does well on the leash, and is a handsome runner.  His foster family has taken him running up to 8-miles, and it’s like an easy cruise for Clark.  Mr. Griswold would love to be part of your neighborhood HOA and lay down all the laws about speeding, he has worked with his foster to work with him to ignore passing cars while on the run or walk and is getting much better.  Walking with treats has helped reinforce good behavior. Mr. Griswold just finished his third vacation trip to Colorado with his foster family. He did well in the car with chew bones for distraction.  He had lots of off leash time running in the National Forest doing dog stuff like chasing chipmunks and baby grouse, and had excellent recall the entire time!  This dog is not a runaway risk and just wants to please and hang out with his humans. Clark loves toys, tearing them apart, but has never turned his attentions to destroying anything else in the house.  He will happily busy himself with a Nylabone or deer antler.  He is highly food-motivated, will surf the counters if left unsupervised, and has never met a snack without his name on it.  He currently has a male foster brother, and they wrestle and play together now.  It took a little bit of time to adjust and get to that point but he is great now.  Clark is house trained and uses a doggy door.   He does well when left out in the house while his humans are gone. The ideal forever home for Clark would be a family who can appreciate his energetic Labrador-like style and continue building his manners.  Clark loves to play tug with his toys and wrestle with his human.  He is a big dog who doesn’t yet recognize how to tone it down for little humans, and while he does well with his foster family’s 11yo kiddo, he might be a lot for a younger child. He is being fostered in the San Antonio area if you are interested in adopting him. ##1887637##

Story
Schultz is an active, gorgeous 2-year-old, 65-pound, blue Weimaraner that is looking for his forever home.  Schultz has been through training and behavior modification due to not getting along with other dogs.  He also has been treated for heartworm disease and is done with his rest and ready to run.  Ideally Schultz would be best without other dogs, although there is one tri-paw girl named Dahlia that he is best friends with at the boarding facility and is also available for adoption with him if a family would want to adopt them both.  Her pictures are in his profile. He loves people, is crate trained and housebroken, and knows all his commands, loose leash walking, and place.  Since Schultz is very active, his best home would be one without small children. If you are interested in fostering/adopting please submit an application.  He is currently in the DFW area. ##1612840##

Story
Meet JuneBug (formerly Kimber), a charming 4-year-old, 55-pound, Weimaraner with a heart full of love and a personality that's sure to steal yours. This lovely lady is the epitome of a velcro dog, always eager to lie at your feet and keep you company as you work from home. She does display hip dysplasia and can do the splits better than any cheerleader! She is crate-trained (although some separation anxiety) and walks wonderfully on a leash. She enjoys doing check-ins with you during walks, adding a touch of sweetness to your daily strolls. Her hip dysplasia gives her a unique little hop when she walks or runs, making her even more endearing. Initially a bit skittish around men, JuneBug has blossomed into a calm and sweet companion who adores her people. She has grown to love her walks and gets excited when it's time to go out, making every outing a joyful experience. JuneBug is great with other dogs and kids, making her a fantastic addition to a family. While we are unsure of cats, her gentle nature suggests she could adapt with time and patience. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate friend who will always be by your side, JuneBug is the perfect match for you. She is being fostered in the DFW metroplex if you are interested. ##1972759##

Copper is a fantastic buddy that loves his people. He loves watching for squirrels and protecting the yard! Copper adores his “stuffies” and loves to do zoomies with them. Copper would also prefer a home without children. He enjoys a brisk walk, know how to sit and shake and loves to howl when he hears any siren! Copper has a good amount of energy, but also loves to relax with his humans. Soft plush blankets are his favorite, and he can barely wait for you to lay them out before he tries and snuggles in. Copper can be choosy about other dogs, but has lived with a large and small dog with success! If you are looking for a devoted companion, Copper is the guy for you. Story
Willow is a 4.5 year old Catahoula Mix. Her birthday is approximately May 23, 2018. She is the sweetest, most loving dog to humans. She's empathetic and caring; She'll lick the tears off of your face when you're sad. She adores children and considers it her mission to keep them safe and happy. Tug-of-war is her favorite game in the world, although fetch is a close second. Her favorite toys are carrot shaped because she chewed on carrots as a puppy and grew an attachment (don't worry, some starter carrot toys will come with her). Willow has canine mega-esophagus, which means she needs either wet food or soaked kibble that she eats in her doggy high chair that she'll back herself up into at dinner time because she knows that's how she gets her food. She's reactive so when she gets over-stimulated, she gets aggressive with other animals(mainly other dogs) so she needs a home where it can be just her and her humans, with no other animals on the ground with her that she can reach. She's incredibly smart and learns tricks quickly. She knows all of the standards like sit, lay down, stay, heel, gentle, etc. She'll adorably paw at you when she wants pets. She's the perfect companion for the right furever home. Story
Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Latte; I’m a 5 year-old Catahoula mix, weighing about 100 pounds. I’m pretty true to my breed: sweet, intelligent, loyal and don't really like negotiating too much. I need exercise and stimulation - but once I get that I am a couch potato just wanting to be around my people. I love car rides (especially going to Starbucks and getting puppuccinos) ! I love long walks where I can explore (I'm not a huge fan of buses and Amazon trucks but I am working on that). My real favorites, however, are treats, belly rubs, and hugs. I'll even show you a few tricks (I know how to sit and shake) if you give me a treat! I walk with my dog friends all the time with no issues, but I love my people so much that I prefer to be the only pet in the home.  My trainer (yep… I’ve got a pro trainer!) says since I am a confident dog, and small quick movements don't scare me I would be great around kids! I would always like a meet and greet first of course. I’d like to be with someone experienced with my breed, and willing to give me a bit of time to let me show them just how great of a dog I really am! I just need to settle in, adjust and get to know and trust you -  but once I do… I’ll give you SO much love. Please give me that chance! I’m working hard in my training to be the best dog I can be for you. My trainer said that, as part of the training program, he’ll even continue to work with my forever family at no cost (as long as you live in the DFW area). He loves and trusts me that much!  I can't wait to meet you! If you feel your home might be the right place for this VERY good girl, start with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes vaccinations and spay/neuter.
