Story
I rescued Hilda on the island on Maui, where I lived for the last 3.5 years. I found her in the woods with 2 puppies, coincidentally while I was looking for my other dog that ran away (we found her too!). Hilda was instantly the sweetest, most loving girl. I ended up keeping her and finding my other dog. Unfortunately, in October 2023 we made the difficult decision to leave Maui after the August 2023 wildfire. Since then, I have struggled financially and my other dog is experiencing some behavioral issues that are making life very difficult for the 3 of us. Hilda is the most loving lady and I just want to find her the home where she gets the love and attention she deserves. I would love to find Hilda a home where we could still see her for puppy play dates, and I could even provide free dog sitting. Hilda is reactive with other dogs, but after a couple of Introductions she loves to play! No cats, but other dog homes are an option!

Story
Tina is a sweet, happy, and playful little dog with the best tail wags you've ever seen. Weighing in at 28 lbs, Tina is a great size for a family dog. She is believed to be a 1-2 year old Mountain Cur/Whippet mix with a heart full of love. Tina has a joyful spirit and loves to follow her people around the house, always eager to be by their side. She enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home, making her a perfect companion for a multi-dog household. Tina's journey to us was a tough one; she was found in Texas, giving birth in the dirt alongside a house. Despite the difficult circumstances, Tina cared for her puppies with incredible devotion until they were ready to move into foster homes of their own. Tina is potty-trained, crate-trained, and ready to find her forever family. She can't wait to share her love and bring joy to a new home. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and playful companion, Tina is the perfect match for you!

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Tommy, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Tommy! Tommy is an adorable, sweet little guy. He is 1 year old, and believed to be an Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua mix. Tommy is just 9 lbs and has plenty of fun and love to give. Tommy is super affectionate and easy going. He does great with other dogs as well. Tommy was found walking down a busy street with an 8 week old puppy friend in New Mexico, and brought into a small shelter. He was never claimed as someone's dog, so Farfel's Rescue was reached out to to help this sweet boy. Farfel's Rescue and our Texas rescue partners would love to see Tommy in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Tommy in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Tommy has been fully vetted, and he is in great health and up to date on his vaccines. Tommy is not yet neutered. Neuter is required within one month of pick up, and is required to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue covers the full cost of his neuter at our vet. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
