Story
Gus is an adorable, 50lb, Wirehaired Terrier mix, whose owner became ill and couldn’t care for him any longer. This 6-7 year old loves to cuddle in a lap. He is house trained and crate trained. We are still learning about Gus, but he seems to be a good and gentle dog. We don’t know how much experience he has had living with other animals, but he currently lives with 2 other dogs and cats. He is unsure of cats, mostly he wants to follow them around. It is likely Gus only lived with one person for a long time who allowed him to be a little silly. Gus can live in a home with 10+ year old kids and other pets, but he will need a home willing to be patient with play time. He’s really sweet, but his dad taught him to guard his toys and bones. Gus loves playing in running water and rubbing his face in the grass. He also enjoys squeaky toys and jerky treats. Gus can live with other dogs as long as he is given time to adjust and the other dog doesn’t also guard toys. Gus walks pretty well on a leash, but can get excited and pull a little. Gus enjoys sleeping on the couch and the bed, and is currently learning to keep his paws off the counter. Gus is super sweet boy whose life got turned upside down when he lost his owner. While he seems to be a genuinely easy going boy, the stress of all the changes will require a patient home for transitioning. Gus is currently living with one of our dog trainer/fosters. Gus' adoption fee of $250 includes a microchip, vaccinations, and neuter surgery. Story
Meet Frijol – Your New Best Buddy! Hi there, I’m Frijol! Whether you’re looking for a hiking partner, a loyal shadow, or a TV snuggle buddy, I’m your guy. I’m an 7-year-old English Pointer who’s ready to fill your life with love and companionship. I’m a social butterfly who gets along with just about everyone—men, women, kids, dogs, and even cats! I’ve been hanging out at the dog park with my foster brother, where I love meeting new friends while keeping a close eye on my foster mom. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was a little stiff and out of shape, but with regular exercise, some dental work, and a healthier diet, I’ve dropped a few pounds and rediscovered my bounce! Now I’m prancing around like a pup half my age, ready to explore the world with my forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, I’m ready to be your best-ever buddy. Let’s make some memories together! 🐾 *****Please email adopt@valleydogs.org for an adoption application.

Story
Meet Dale! He was hit by a car over two plus years ago.  The vet said the outcome would’ve been better for him if he was treated asap once he was hit. Dale injured his spine when he was hit by a car in Costa Rica.  He was living on the farm in Costa Rica with lots of other dogs.  A few months before coming to the US he lived at home with a vet in order to get laser therapy more frequent, which were continuing here along with acupuncture.  Long term we hope he improves with continued physical therapy but it’s not a guaranteed due to how long ago his injury to was. He gets around great in a wheelchair, that’s how he got the name Dale (Earnhardt). Out of the wheelchair he gets around pretty well.  He wears a belly band in the house to prevent accidents and he will use the doggie door.  Personality wise he LOVES attention from anyone who will give it to him.  He’s a huge snuggler and will follow everyone around the house, just to stay close to them.  He does great with kids and is being fostered with 12 other dogs.  He deserves a chance at a real place to call home after having such a rough start. He is 1 of 8 dogs saved from Costa Rica and we hope we can give him a second chance at a great life. He will need a home that can continue with acupuncture and laser therapy. Please fill out an application on our website so a meet/greet and home check can be arranged. His adoption fee is $250.December 31, 2024, 6:23 pm
