Story
Meet Aussie, a 7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a zest for life! At 7 years old, Aussie may be considered a bit older, but he’s proof that age is just a number. He’s full of energy and enthusiasm and thrives on being close to his people. Whether he’s tagging along as you move around the house or relaxing nearby, Aussie loves to be part of the action.  Aussie is also proving that old dogs can learn new tricks! He’s eager and ready for training, and we’ve been working on basics like “sit” and taking treats gently. His intelligence and enthusiasm make him a quick learner, so training will be a breeze.  Aussie does well in his kennel. He rides well in the car and enjoys going for walks, though he’s still working on leash manners to prevent pulling.  Currently, Aussie lives with another dog, though they mostly ignore each other. He’d do well in a home with or without another canine companion. Aussie adores people, and his friendly nature suggests he’d be great with kids. However, until he learns to contain his excitement, his wiggly enthusiasm might unintentionally knock over smaller children.  Aussie is house-trained but currently wears a belly band indoors to prevent marking. His desire to mark has been virtually eliminated after his recent neuter. All in all, Aussie is a wonderful, affectionate pup who’s ready to learn and adapt to your home. With a little training and patience, he’ll make a fantastic companion! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. He is kinda shy and submissive at firstbut once he warms up he will be your best friend. He does well with other dogs however, needs a cat-free home. He is average energy. He is a pretty quiet guy and keeps a clean kennel.If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Sadie is the sweetest girl you will find! She is full of love, happiness, warmth and kisses! She wants to enjoy life with you and your family! Sadie would make an amazing family dog, or cool with a couple or solo person. She has a zest for life and would love all the fun, love, activity and companionship. She loves people and she loves to be outside in a yard, BUT she does need a 6 foot fence, as is capable of going over a 4 foot (or invisible fencing- well trained on it). She loves to go for walks (but dog park is her favorite) and she is a good snuggler! She is about 7 years old and about 41 lbs.  Sadie has a brightness to her you just can't deny! You have to meet her to understand. Sadie absolutely is a dog park dog and literally "flies like the wind" across the meadows. She looks like a low-flying bird (her nickname is "Birdie) or a gazelle and is so fun to watch. She is zippy, fast, agile, just bursts out with joy! You cannot help smiling and joining in her fun.  If you are interested in our sweet Sadie, please let us know!  She is great with dogs, (but is an alpha in some circumstances) people, kids, but no cats.  Interested in adopting?
