Griff has had a rough start in life. One of our long time volunteers found him tied to a tree in horrible shape. We took him in to Apollo and got him medical attention. He is young, confused and the shelter noises make him very anxious. He is the cutest and quirkiest pup that would make someone laugh and have a lot of fun. We took care of his medical needs and all he has is a little bit of hair loss. That just makes him more special. At less than a year old Griff has suffered abandonment and neglect. We hope for an active family willing to love him and train him with patience and understanding of his horrible past. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is anxious at the rescue and it's been difficult making a clear determination if he is dog reactive or not. We believe once outside of the noise and with proper decompression time he could tolerate other dogs. This would take time and slow introductions are recommended.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

My older sister and her boyfriend found him at a high school in 2021 when he looked about a year and a half old. They lived with cats and roommates and dropped him off to live with my family, but when he got dropped off there was an issue. We already lived with two dogs who were not neutered, so there became a peeing problem worst than before. He’s super friendly and cute and we thought we can handle it but then we got busy. We also realized he definitely has people trauma because he’s always been afraid of collars and leashes. He’s a bit aggressive so we’ve had to go through intense stress when needed to shower him. He’s anxious, but loves people and other dogs, but he gets defensive over something like people just casually picking him up when he’s anxious, getting too close to his food, and other dogs getting attention when he’s around. He’s a small dog with a big personality, and what we’ve learn from him is that he’s a one and only dog type of person, super loyal.

ADOPTABLE MO! Our sweet Mo came to us from a local shelter at 10+ years old and suffering from glaucoma. Our vet describes Mo as the happiest blind dog he has ever seen! He currently lives in a home with other dogs and kids and does well with both of them. He prefers calm dogs, as puppies and high energy dog can be overwhelming to him. He is fully-vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He does need daily eye drops and a patient family that will give him time to learn their home.
