Story
This cutie is Taffy and he is an approximately 2 year old, 12lb Yorkie that is one of the sweetest dogs ever! Taffy came from a very sad situation where he was rescued from living in a crammed cage 24/7 with another dog (been adopted). Thankfully, a neighbor got the owners to surrender the dogs to her where she then asked if we could take them into our foundation and we said yes! We got them immediately to our vet where they came so dirty, matted, no vaccines, and not neutered. They were most likely to be used for breeding and in their young lives...never got to experience one ounce of love. Taffy is looking for his forever home now and could be your one and only or with another sweet and loving dog. Due to the way he was kept, he experiences some anxiety when you leave the house, so we are looking for a forever home with owners that are home most of the day. Taffy also needs an adult only home where the owners are patient, kind, loving, and will give him the time he needs to feel safe and loved. He does not have once ounce of aggression in him and literally wants to be by your side 24/7. He is still getting the hang of potty training and does mark for a few days when you first get him, but he is a quick learner. He definitely needs a home with a safe/secure backyard where he can go potty and mark to his hearts content. Taffy is such a love bug who wants nothing more than the company and love of his human. Taffy is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Taffy's adoption fee is $600

BIRDIE-Sponsorship needed IMPORTANT: The Nature Network Inc. is a small 501c3 non-profit no-kill organization. Most animals we rescue are abandoned at the pound, who no one wants--seniors and special-needs. 100% of all funds are used for them—extensive veterinary and medical costs, prescription meds, rehab, special foods, supplements, and more. We are deeply grateful for help. To meet us, help us, or if you know people or businesses who would like to, please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (Also our PayPal Giving email address for donation and sponsorship). Mailing: The Nature Network Inc., 3826 Grand View Blvd., #66790, Los Angeles, CA 90066. 100% of all funds are used for our rescued animals. Our Board members and our president and founder are all volunteers. Our veterinary references are available upon request. BIRDIE is a senior special-needs little girl who is now Sponsorship only, and requires special food and care. She has a constantly recurring growth, she is now 12 going on 13 years old, she has a funny little cough when she gets excited which we also need to examine just in case there is a tracheal issue. She will need careful surgery to remove the growth, and at the same time serious teeth scaling (including just beneath the gum line, and always the possibility of removal of any tooth that is beyond help). She is highly intelligent, but because of age, no longer a good adoption prospect, so will get to stay with us for the rest of her years. We do this with many pups who are no longer adoptable, a labor of love :o) But unfortunately this brings on many increasingly large veterinary costs, to keep them healthy and to deal with any treatable issues they may encounter. Birdie is most likely a combination of Yorkshire Terrier and Chinese Crested with maybe a little Papillion thrown in. She is ten pounds. She was rescued from an unsafe situation and has bonded with Alice, another special-needs senior rescue girl pup at our place. The other older senior would not do well without Birdie and they keep each other happy, while receiving the specialized care they need. Birdie has been spayed, is current on everything, receiving every kind of veterinary care she needs. For more information about Birdie contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (Also our PayPal donation and sponsorship email)

Story
Penny is a very sweet senior girl who will be 13 on June 22nd. She weighs 7.8 lbs. She was surrendered to a shelter by her owners because she needed medical care. She is spayed, vaccinated and has had full blood work. She also had a dental, and only has one remaining tooth, a canine. Penny would be best as an only dog and is good with older kids. Penny is potty trained in her environment. Either outside or on potty pads. Penny just wants to be with her person and loves going with you, riding in her booster seat in the car, in her stroller or at your side in a sling. Penny is somewhat a Mama’s girl and makes a great companion dog. She likes to cuddle in bed and hang out with you on the sofa. Penny would love a forever home of her very own. She has arthritis in her hind legs but gets around just fine. Penny has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) and requires an enzyme powder to be added to her food in order for her body to digest its nutrients. If you are interested in Penny, please go to www.yorkierescueofamerica.org and fill out an adoption application. Penny is located in Los Angeles, CA. Penny’s adoption fee is $300.00

Available for adoption!!! Located in Los Angeles, CA. Yorkie Rescue of America Dior, affectionately known as DeeDee. She had a really rough time before coming to YROA. She’s been to the vet, the dermatologist, the ophthalmologist and the cardiologist. I’m happy to say that all issues have been dealt with and she’s doing great! DeeDee just wants a person of her very own. She spins with excitement when you come home or just walk into the room. She wants to be wherever you are. She will keep you company while you work in the kitchen, cuddle with you while you watch TV and sleep next to you all night never making a peep. She loves playing with small toys that she can pick up, toss, retrieve and toss again. She will go wherever you go and is great in the car. She is potty trained in her current environment. She likes to go outside, but also uses potty pads. She loves other dogs. DeeDee is 12 years old and weighs 8 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, has had a dental and is microchipped. She has a cataract in her right eye that requires an eyedrop once every other day for inflammation. She is also on Pimobendan twice a day for her heart and hydrocodone for her trachea. She takes all medication like an angel. DeeDee is the sweetest girl just waiting to be your best friend. Can you open your heart and your home to give her a wonderful final chapter? Story
This little cutie patootie is Forest and he is an approximately 5 month old, Maltese/Terrier mix who is the absolute cutest thing ever! Forest came to us with his mom and two sisters (all have been adopted) when they were being given away for free out of a car on a busy street. Thankfully, a kind woman saw what was going on and took them. She then reached out to us to see if we could take them into our foundation and we said yes! Forest is an absolute doll and loves people and other dogs. We will only place him in a home with another young/playful dog and with owners that are not gone long hours during the day. Owners that are puppy savvy is a big plus! Forest would be ok in a home with children 12 years old and older as he is very tiny. Please note that his mom was a terrier so he is not fully hypoallergenic. Forest is such a sweet boy with such a good personality that we want to find him the best forever home out there! Forest is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 You may fill out an application through our website at theforgottendog.org

Story
My Mother in Law passed away in December and we inherited her sweet pup, Maggie Rose. Maggie is a 3 year old Mal Shih (Maltese/Shih-Tzu mix) and weighs about 6 Lbs. She lived in a quiet retirement community with my elderly MIL, who was not very active. Maggie did not get much activity, other than playing with toys and indoor zoomies. She is now with us in Santa Monica and loving her new routine that includes raw food, walks, treats, toys, and lots of play. She is adjusting to city noises and barks as little dogs do- she would benefit from more training. She was pee pad trained but with regular walks now is using them less. The pads have been useful for late night pee;s, but I think she can be trained to go outside exclusively. She's good with children. Maggie may do well in a 2 dog home, if the dog is male and chill, but may be better as the only dog depending on your pup. Maggie is the sweetest and likes to cuddle under a blanket and just be close to you It's tough we love her!!
