NAME: Darcy BREED: Yorkie/Poodle Mix BIRTHDAY: 2016 WEIGHT: 20lbs ADOPTION FEE: $150 (Darcy and Nella are bonded and must be adopted together!) &#226&#128&#139 Darcy and Nella came to us from a breeder who was closing her doors. She had surrendered her other dogs to different rescues and said she was going to keep Darcy and Nella as her personal pets. Imagine the surprise of the rescuers who helped her when they saw the girls posted on a "free to a good home" site! We were immediately contacted and we happily agreed to take the girls, and thankfully they were able to get to us before being given away to someone who may not have been able to care for them properly (or keep them together). &#226&#128&#139 In foster care, Darcy and Nella have been very sweet and easy. They get along well with dogs of all sizes and are very polite with cats. Nella has had a few accidents but in general they seem house trained, they are happy to take walks or go to new places, and they are friendly with new people after a couple minutes of warming up. Our groomer said they were both very well behaved for their spa day, and now they look as lovely on the outside as they are inside! This is a truly wonderful pair who will be a blessing to their forever family! &#226&#128&#139 *Both girls came to us a little itchy, which could be a result of a poor diet or other external factors. To help them be comfortable, we got a Cytopoint injection for Darcy and are giving Nella Apoquel. Hopefully they will not need medications long term, but it should be something an adopter is prepared for. Please note that these girls are bonded and MUST be adopted together! Fishy was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He is around 8 years old and is a Maltese/yorkie/chihuahua/shih tzu mix. Fishy is a sweet older guy that did live with two other dogs and seems to not mind sharing his space. He weighs 11 pounds and will need someone that can provide him with regular grooming to keep his coat looking beautiful! According to his previous owner Fishy did have a slipped disc in his back and had to go through therapy for it. Fishy uses ramps to get onto the furniture and will need Somone one knowledgeable about this condition. He gets around and walks fine but he should be discouraged from jumping up or off of furniture or jumping in general. Fishy has done very well for bathing here at the shelter. Fishy would love to have a second chance at a loving forever home soon! He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Frannie and her siblings are ready for homes of their own! These pups are about 5 months old and are sweet as can be. The pups are in our jail dog program where female trustees care for them until they are vetted and find amazing homes.
