She is a “young” 9 year old female and weighs 14 lbs. She was surrendered by her owner through no fault of her own. She has been with our rescue since the end of May and has settled in quite nicely with my other 2 yorkies. She is fully house trained (once she trains you!), has a good appetite (loves treats) and sleeps through the night. Candi is well behaved and very loving. All she wants is to be by your side. Candi likes to lay  by your feet but does jump up on the couch for snuggles. She loves to meet people, kids and their pets. Candi doesn’t play with toys but loves a bully stick to chew on. She is used to being in a fenced yard but since she’s been with us she enjoys walks around the community and checking out all the different smells. Normally Candi is not a barker unless she is excited. Usually when I’m getting her food ready or she knows we’re going for a walk or a car ride, or when she has to go potty. Otherwise, you won’t hear a peep out of her. Candi is good with baths and the groomer. She doesn’t mind being dressed up (if that is your thing). She does get lonely if she’s alone for extended periods of time.    Candi is very healthy but does require insulin for her diabetes. She has pretty much a full mouth of pearly white teeth and doesn’t mind getting them brushed!     Candi is always smiling, always happy and is truly a sweet little girl. All she wants is a family that will love her for the rest of her life. His adoption fee is $350.00.   This sweet boy was rescued right before his scheduled euthanization. He was surrendered to the shelter  by the mother of the owner who was caring for her 98 year old mother and she was unable to care for him. This boy is approximately 11 yo and weighs 12.9 lbs. He came to me from SAYR two weeks ago. At this time he is settling in nicely with my other Yorkie who is 13 yo.  Hi name is Chiqui pronounced 'cheeky'. I found that he only understands Spanish. Very interesting since I speak only English. Thanks to google translate! He is now following commands. He has a great appetite. Sleeps in his bed through the night. Loves a good belly rub.  Chiqui walks on a leash well but has shown some aggression to other dogs. We are working on that and he his quick to obey commands. At this time he is being treated for Kennel Cough. He is getting better and no longer has any symptoms of nasal discharge or cough. He has an appointment on Tuesday for a follow up with Dr. Felix. He needs a dental and we will schedule it after he is cleared medically. THIS BOY IS A GEM! Chiqui is staying with Diane in Clifton, NJ.Sponsor Olivia Foushee Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 1:53 am

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Sonny is one of a bonded pair of Yorkies and will have to be adopted with Cher. Sonny is 3 years old and weighs 14 lbs. The adoption fee for BOTH DOGS is $800.00.This charming little gentleman was surrendered by his loving owner along with his sister when the family could no longer keep them. Sonny settled in almost immediately and is always ready for pets and snuggles. He's very protective of his sister and always has to know where she is. Sonny enjoys curling up next to you on the couch or in his bed or a corner in the same room as you.  He is mostly potty-trained and goes out on the same schedule as his sister. We made great progress on his tendency to mark his territory and it has almost completely stopped now that his neuter is complete. The biggest takeaway is that Sonny is a very, very well behaved and loving boy. He sits for treats, stands patiently for his belly band, and shares well with his sister.    Sonny is very good at bedtime. Initially he wants to be with you but takes turns between sleeping snuggled nearby, sleeping in his own bed, and patrolling the room to make sure everyone is safe. So far he has only shown interest in soft toys that crinkle. If you're playing fetch with his sister he'll come to sit on your lap for cuddles.    He walks well on a leash and moves like a man on a mission. There's no time to stop and sniff! This little guy has places to be. If you are walking him with Cher then he is very protective of her around other dogs, so we make sure to cross the street because once they are on the other side of the street he does not pay attention to them at all.    Now that Sonny's neuter is done he is ready to find their forever home. Sonny and Cher will thrive in a home where they are the only pets and they have their humans around them as much as possible.  Sonny and Cher are staying with Jenna in Buffalo, NY.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 1:53 am

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog.     Cher is one of a bonded pair of Yorkies and will have to be adopted with Sonny. She is 3 years old and weighs 12 lbs. The adoption fee for BOTH DOGS is $800.00. This sweet girl was surrendered by her loving owner along with her brother when the family could no longer keep them. She has been here for a few weeks and she is incredibly affectionate and protective of her people and the house. Her ideal situation is sitting in a lap or snuggling up next to you while also being close to her brother, Sonny. When Cher gets excited she will grab a stuffed animal and bring it to you to play fetch. More than anything she loves getting belly rubs and will dramatically flop herself across your lap when it is belly time. She is mostly potty-trained and will use a pee pad if need be but we are working on getting her to go outside. Her challenge seems to be that when we are outside her M.O. is still all belly rubs all the time, and she just wants to play with you instead of doing her business. She sleeps through the night and will happily cuddle up next to your legs when it's bedtime.  Cher is a great guard dog, no mailmen will sneak up on your house without her letting you know. She's sometimes easily startled and looks to her brother for support. We're working on getting her used to visitors.    She does well on a leash, enjoys walks at a brisk pace, and is friendly with the other dogs we've encountered, but she can get nervous if there are too many people. She's got lots of energy for playing outside or in the house with her brother!     She is all set with her spaying and is ready to find the forever home for her and Sonny. They will thrive in a home where they are the only pets and they have their humans around them as much as possible.  Cher and Sonny are staying with Jenna in Buffalo, NY.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 1:53 am

She’s a loving little girl, very friendly and loves to be held! And what a chow hound! She started playing with some of my other fosters. She has commandeered the biggest dog bed in the house and there’s quite a few to pick from! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Sofie is available for adoption. She is 4 months old and weighs 7 pounds. Her adoption fee is $1,000.00. Sofie’s first few days were spent with Mark Hensel and his two dogs Levi and Quinn, so she was on cloud 9 having some playmates.  Sofie was an only dog in her former household and since arriving now with us is an only dog again.  She is pure puppy, a bundle of energy and quite a clown.  She has brought such joy to our household since her arrival on Saturday.  She rides well in the car, sleeps through the night, loves people (especially children) and other dogs, although she is a bit reserved with bigger dogs.  Nonetheless she is curious and will approach bigger dogs slowly. She is smart as a whip and loves her food, eats well and is hungry all the time. She has only had two accidents indoors so far.  She is learning to ring a bell to indicate she must go out to potty.  She picked this up very quickly.  She loves to “walk” spending much of the time exploring, sniffing, and trying to get the attention of everyone she meets on her walks.  If she doesn’t get attention from someone, she is dejected because as everyone knows, the world revolves around Sofie! She loves to play with her puppy “puzzles” to find treats and enjoyed her trip to That Pet Place to get a few things we needed for her.  We are trying to introduce her to a lot of different people and other dogs since this is the best time to successfully socialize a puppy. There is only one thing that we have discovered so far that she will need work on and that is grooming.  She is not fond of combs and brushes around her face and definitely does not like toothbrushing.  With daily grooming and toothbrushing, we hope she will come to tolerate, if not enjoy, these aspects of puppy life. Sofie is staying with Kathy and Sharon in Mountville, PA.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 1:53 am
