Story
Our little handsome Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix boy is called Cookie Monster and he is going to make someone a really fun companion in life!  This little nugget was born October 26th, 2023 and he weighs 9 pound currently.  Most likely he will stay at the 9-10 pound range and will be perfect for road trips, flying to fun destinations where you can have a furry companion and for snuggling up to watch your favorite TV programs.  He is good with other pets that include cats and dogs. A young man adopted him as a puppy and then decided that dog parenting was just too much for his single lifestyle.  Let’s be sure that you are ready for the responsibilities of coming home to care daily for your loving boy, Cookie Monster. He is pretty much housebroken, very comfortable on a leash and he enjoys meeting new people.  He is ready for adoption NOW! Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue via email and ask for an application.  He is in Nashville, TN and can ride on the transport van easily on June 28th to arrive for the weekend.  Email: ccrnewengland@gmail.com               PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
HETTIE (TENNESSEE) Hettie is a 11yr old (estimated)Yorkie girl who weighs 12lbs and is being fostered near Ashland City, TN. Out of State Applications will be considered if it is a good fit for Hettie. Hettie was surrendered by her owner due to the owner’s own personal health issues and was no longer able to care for her. She came into rescue with Patty, they have been in Foster home a little over a month now and they are NOT a bonded pair and can be adopted separately. Hettie is a sweet, playful girl who will bark at the door to let you know when she wants to go outside. She will also bark to alert you if she hears a noise or someone knocks at the door. She loves spending time exploring the yard and laying outside for a bit if weather permits. Hettie gets along just fine with other dogs but foster mom also thinks she would do well as the only dog in the home. She can be a bit vocal as if to carry a conversation with you to let you know she wants something. Hettie had a bladder stone and it has been removed when she had her dental procedure and she lost a few teeth but has plenty left to eat with. The vet recommended that she be put on a CD diet for life to prevent future ones from forming. The vet also recommend Hettie lose some weight. Foster mom has been feeding her a measured amount of food twice daily. She enjoys dog beds but prefers to sleep with her person. She rides well in a car and does good with baths and grooming. She is ready for adoption and she is a wonderful dog. If you would like to donate to her care please go to www.uyr.us and click on the PayPal button underneath her bio. You can fill out an application for her or email Foster Mom with any questions at mandymsmith1@yahoo.com

Story
Meet Toto!!Sweet, shy Toto is looking for his forever home! We don't know much about his past but it's safe to say he did not have a lot of human interaction. He's been with me a few months now and has come such a long way! He gets along well with all my other dogs. He loves to be outside so a fenced in yard is ideal. He has been fully vetted and housebroken. Yay! We are working on leash training. It will take him a bit to warm up to strangers so please have patience. We are guessing that he is around 5 or 6 years old. He appears to be a terrier (possibly border terrier) mix. He has the cutest little underbite and Justin Bieber hair! I'm guessing he is around 14 pounds. If you’d like to make him part of your forever home, please apply online or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approvedSweet, shy Toto is looking for his forever home! Story
Meet the adorable Trixie! This sweet little six-year-old girl sadly finds herself in need of a new forever home. We do not know a lot about her background other than her elderly owners had dementia and were unable to care for her. Their daughter took her in, but she was left alone extended periods and was definitely not getting the attention she loves. One of JoJo's adopters rescued her from that situation and asked us if we can find her a wonderful home. Trixie is about 15 lbs and we're guessing maybe a Yorkshire Terrier/Chinese Crested Dog based on her looks. Her back is just peach fuzz, like a Chinese Crested mix might be, but her cute little face looks like Yorkie or Mini Schnauzer (depending on her haircut?) It's an unusual mix, but she is lower maintenance than most Yorkies or Schnauzers because she doesn't have so much hair to get matted. She mainly will need face and feet trims to keep up her adorable appearance. Trixie is a healthy girl, very playful and affectionate. She does have a little funny gait, but it does not seem to bother her at all. We do not know if it is from an early injury, a birth defect, or possibly the onset of a little arthritis (although she seems a little young for that.) Whatever it is, she does not show any sign of pain – she can run and jump just fine – she just has a cute gait when she runs. Apparently Trixie's prior owners trained her to use pee pads, so she does do that. Her foster family said she is “semi-housetrained” and they are working with her to get her fully used to pottying outside. She is a smart girl and is learning quickly. She gets along with cats as well as dogs of all sizes, although she does find very hyper dogs to be a bit scary. She will follow you everywhere and loves to cuddle and just sit in your lap. She is sweet, adorable, and a remarkably happy girl considering all she's been through recently. Her little world has been rocked, but she's bounced back just fine. We want to find this sweet girl a loving, stable home where she can live the life she deserves. If you are interested in meeting this sweet pup, please email us at jojosdogrescue @gmail.com and we will send you an application, or download one from our website www.jojosdoghouse.com. Adoption fee is $250 and includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, and parasite treatment and prevention. Thanks for choosing adoption! Please visit our Facebook page JoJo's DogHouse (non-profit) to learn more about us and see many of the dogs we have rescued. We hope you'll join JoJo's family of adopters!
