Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! Story
A little bit about Roscoe :- Looking for an adult-only home.- No cats or small animals in the home due to high prey drive- Unknown history with other dogs; potential for another dog in home pending successful introductionMeet Roscoe, a young Siberian Husky mix who's had a challenging start to life but is full of potential. Roscoe came to the shelter under poor circumstances, and we suspect he was separated from his mom too young. This, along with the time he's spent at the shelter, has made him a bit of a stressed little guy. He's now looking for a dog-savvy, patient home that can help him learn how to be the best dog he can be through positive reinforcement training.Roscoe is incredibly people-oriented and craves companionship, so he'll thrive in a home where he can spend lots of time with his humans. However, due to his past experiences and current stress levels, Roscoe would do best in a home without kids or small animals. He needs a calm, structured environment where he can feel safe and gradually learn to trust the world around him.As a Siberian Husky mix, Roscoe comes with some specific grooming needs. His thick coat will require regular brushing to prevent mats and keep him looking his best. He'll also benefit from regular exercise and mental stimulation, as Huskies are known for their energy and intelligence. With the right care, patience, and plenty of love, Roscoe is ready to leave his past behind and become a loyal and loving companion. If you're ready to give Roscoe the forever home he deserves, he's waiting to meet you!

Story
April - Female - Husky April is a quiet and soft natured girl. She is good with other dogs and kids and doesn't even mind cats (although she finds them a bit scary sometimes). She can sleep in a crate with little fuss and enjoys leash walks. Belly rubs, yes please! April would be a very nice addition to an active family with breed knowledge.
