Story
This pup is nothing short of amazing and has the best parts of a shepherd and an Akita. He wants to be part of the family and he will protect them until the bitter end. Kai wants a family so bad and has a strong love for the people who take care of him. Once he has settled in, Kai's happiness fills the home with joy. When you come home from a long day at work, Kai is there to greet you and wants nothing more than to listen and smell all about your day. This young loving amazing Shepherd gives unconditional love, and only wants to please you and take every command. He can be a little timid, but once he learns your love, he is extremely obedient and loving. Once you earn his love, that’s all you’re gonna get from him. He is a good boy who has been through some tough times who just wants a family all to his own. Kai currently lives with other dogs and does well with most of them. There are more assertive dogs that Kai is not a fan of. Kai is not recommended to live with cats due to prey drive. Kai has met children and done well with them with proper introductions, but would likely do best with older children only given his timid nature when first meeting new people. Kai would do best in a home that is experienced with Akitas, Shepherds, or a similar breed. Kai is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Kai to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.

12/19/24 02:43Doggy Day Out Report:Today I: Today I made a new friend and went on a Dog Day Out adventure to the park! I was so excited to meet my new buddy that I couldn’t stop wriggling while they tried to put my harness on. It was a little embarrassing, but hey, I was just that excited!Getting into the car was a bit scary—I’m still working on being brave—but my friend helped me out by picking me up and giving me a treat for being such a good boy. Once we hit the road, I took my job as navigator very seriously, giving lots of kisses to make sure we were heading the right way. When we got to the park, oh boy, the smells were AMAZING! We walked through the park, explored the neighborhoods, and even hiked up some hills. I kept checking in with my friend (and maybe tried to hug them every time I did—oops!). They didn’t seem to mind, though, because I got plenty of treats. Speaking of treats, have I mentioned my favorite sound? It’s the crinkling of a treat bag opening—music to my ears! ??I also showed off my sitting skills while waiting for treats. I nailed it (mostly), but I guess I could work on being more patient...whatever that means.03/05/25 09:18Here is Prospects Tails and Trains Report card for March 3rd, 2025.What did we do on today’s adventure: today I got to go to the park – I wassooooo excited to get out for the morning. I sniffed all the smells, and I madesure to always sniff both sides of the path (wouldn’t want to miss anything). Isaw lots of geese and thought they might be fun to chase (but my friend wouldn’t let me). I showed off my sit for lots of treats, and sometimes tried to get extra treats by sitting without even being asked! I got lots of compliments on what a pretty boy I am, and at the end of our walk I got a pupcup – delish! What should potential adopters know about me: Prospect is a sweet andbeautiful boy. He was very excited to get out for the morning, but it still didn’t take long to get him harnessed up. He can be a little unsure about hopping in the car, but he is very treat motivated so if you toss a treat in the backseat he will hop right in. He is good in the car and sits nicely in the back, he likes to rest his head on your shoulder and give kisses while you are driving. He is a big/strong boy but he has decent leash manners and is pretty good about not pulling, he does like to weave though (have to check out both sides of the path you know). He is non-reactive to other
