Story
Arizona is a 4.5 year old Akita Mix that was transferred to rescue from a local shelter with her newborn puppies. After raising her puppies, who have all been adopted, Arizona has settled into a happy life and routine with her foster and is a friendly, healthy adult dog. She's been with us for more than seven months, which is surprising given that she is housebroken and gets along with people, other dogs, and even cats. We believe that prior to rescue, Arizona spent a lot of time outside and can sometimes be more comfortable lounging in the backyard than in the house. She's also become very attached to her foster dad (as Akitas tend to do) and will require an adoptive household that understands there will be a transition period before she is comfortable with her new family, surroundings, and routine. Arizona can present with separation anxiety, which includes pacing and verbalizing her displeasure, however with time and consistency, these behaviors have been eliminated in her foster home. We'd love to see Arizona thrive in a home that knows the breed and is truly committed to the time and energy required to help a rescue dog settle into a new and better life. Whether you work from home, are active and like to take your canine pals along, or own property where she can explore, we'd encourage you to consider making Arizona a member of your family. Arizona is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped with registration, wormed, and has had entropion correction surgery on her left eye. Her adoption fee is $350.

Story
Described as a `gentle giant` by her new friends here, Akira is known for her demure demeanor and would be an excellent addition to any household. She'd like to meet any dogs first, since she's a bit skittish of them these days, but she's been said to adore children! Why not drop by and see how she'd fit in your life?August 19, 2024, 11:18 pm

Story
Name: Forrest Male Age: 7+ (unsure) DOB: was a rescue Got him from a shelter in Durango, CO Forrest is such a good boy, and we truly hate to rehome him but unfortunately due to some unfortunate life events/changes we don’t have any other choice. Forrest is a fluffy, friendly, laid back, cold weather loving boy! He doesn’t require much attention, and actually prefers you not bother him unless HE wants the attention. He’s very easy going unlike most huskies he doesn’t require you run 5 miles in order to get his energy out, although he obviously benefits from any exercise. He loves walks, hikes, and being outside in any capacity.
