Meet Lily!Lily is a stunning 3-year-old, 63-pound Akita mix with striking blue eyes and a heart full of love. Found as a stray, she was struggling to care for her own puppies and a few other newborns that had been left with her. Despite her tough start, Lily has shown nothing but sweetness and incredible maternal care. This gentle girl is wonderfully patient—she even allowed her temporary foster to give her a bath without any fuss! Lily knows how to walk on a leash and waits patiently for her walks to do her business, making her an easy companion.Lily is ready to leave her challenging past behind and find a forever home where she can be cherished for the amazing dog she is. Could Lily be the one for you?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 9, 2025, 10:17 pm

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hachi! This year and a half old boy is just about as regal as Akita's come.. some moments, then others? Well, let's just say he's no stranger to the Akita bunny hops, leaps, and bounds, it is seriously adorable watching this big old 92 pound boy get down for some fun! But those fun times come with lottttsss of rest afterwards, he's essentially just one huge puppy; without mentioning his soft, plush coat. While Hachi is typically more aloof with general strangers, treats help entice him to create the initial bond, and from there; he's as loyal as can be. His name has got to be about Hachiko the loyal dog, because he's the type to follow his people around like a shadow - which is unlike most, independent Akitas. Moreover, Hachi gets along well with other dogs, and while cats & other small critters are out of the picture for this guy, we figure that won't be much of an issue when it comes to this guy finding the love! Hachi's favorite time of the day is either going for walks, playtime, or snuggling up on our meet & greet futon. He's a boy of all trades, this one, and we love him for it! We are currently working on the basic commands with him, and he's learning quick, of course, when the treats are up to par with the commands! Hachi's been fortunate enough to be living in a foster for awhile, and here's what we know! He's fully-housetrained!! He will make use of a doggy-door without issue, eh didn't even need to be taught how to use it, and overall; he's a SWEETHEART. We think Hachi will do phenomenally in most well-verse Akita homes, whether you've got the experience, or you've done your research on the breed, he will be a great dog for you.
