Acquired: 2.8.20 Adopted: 4.70.20 Returned: 7.30.22 Gabby is a young (born 9.14.19) spayed female Akita. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Gabby came to us with her parents, Kiyoko and Keito, and her two brothers, Gabe and Gordon. They had all been left in the care of a friend of their owner when he fell on hard times. After several months, he told the friend to go ahead and find somewhere for them to go. Gabby was adopted out in 2020, but returned due to a tragedy in the family. She would do well in a home by herself or with the right male, canine friend.

Onyx was surrendered with his friend, Xena, by their owners who could no longer care for them. Onyx is a very sweet dog and we are still assessing his social skills with dogs other than Xena.

Valerian was surrenderd to the shelter in Chesapeake, VA when the owner could no longer care for him. He had previously lived outside in a pen and was uncertain and stand off-ish when he first came to us, but he warmed up to a goofy, woo-ing, wiggle butt boy. He is just so sweet! Valerian would be fine in a home with children 12+ due to his high energy level and as an only pet.

Lucy comes to us from the SPCA of North Eastern NC where her owner was caught on camera dumping her at a local storage center. Lucy is very sweet, but does need some additional leash training. Currently, Lucy needs a home with no children under the age of 18 and no other dogs, this is subject to change after vetting.

I was adopted by a family 4 years ago, but they had to give me up when they couldn't care for me any longer. Loosing my home has been rough, so I'm looking for a new one! How about yours? You probably want to know more about me. Hmmm...I am a big cuddly guy with a big heart. I am a pretty typical akita: loyal, loving, and playful with my family but aloof with strangers. I missed out on some vital socializing with my last family, so I prefer to be the only kid in the house (both human and dog). My last human was female, so I am partial to them. But I will warm up to men with a little patience. A home that speaks Akita is preferred (aka akita breed experience). If you want to meet up act fast! My fabulous cuddle skills won't stick around long. Adoption fee will be waived for enrollment in obedience training. This is Harley she's a two and a half year old spayed husky female. She is currently on flea and tick prevention and enrolled in a vet program. She is very loving, high energy and needs a big yard and a family who can give her lots of attention. I gained her due to bad circumstances and with my current job I do not have the time and attention needed to devote to her. She only knows a few tricks but she's very smart and able to be trained. I just don't have the time to do it myself. She will make a great working dog and could definitely be trained to be a service dog. She'll thrive best with a family where someone can stay the majority of the time or with someone who can devote alot of time to wearing her high energy down such as hikes, long walks, runs, swimming, etc. She is used to being around older people and has a tendency to jump up so not the best for very young children until she's trained. She's good with other animals and isn't reactive to other animals or people.

Lily-Rey is 2 years old and a sweet dog. She is very smart and adorable and loves to play. I acquired her from my sister’s friend but unfortunately that person did not give much info about her. She is not spayed but all of her shots are done and she got a bath recently. The reason I want to rehome her is that she unfortunately doesn’t get along with my brother’s dog. She is not a bad dog and she’s really sweet. She just needs training. I want her to go to a loving and safe forever home. Thank you!
