Story
Chase is a 2 year-old Husky who weighs 46 lbs. He was surrendered to CHA when his owner could no longer care for him. Chase is an unbelievably sweet boy who just wants to cuddle. He will rest his head in your lap and roll over for belly rubs. He was very nervous when he first arrived at CHA, and so he is looking for a patient adopter who will help him gain confidence in his new home. He is especially nervous about walking on leash. While he has gotten so much better in his time here, he can still get a little startled when the leash tugs on him. But he still loves to explore and sniff the world around him! If you`re looking for a dog who will snuggle you all day long, come meet Chase today!

Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside. We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org

Story
Meet Marko and Phoenix! Their owners rescued them in 2021 but are now hoping to rehome them together due to young children. They are both loving, playful, and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. Phoenix is a 4 year old female and is spayed/microchipped. She is a sweet girl with a more laid back, independent personality. Marko is a 6 year old male and is neutered/microchipped. He loves being around people with exception to the vet, but his anxiety at visits has improved as trust has been built. Both are crate/potty trained and up to date on shots.

Adopting a Alaskan Klee Kai

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Alaskan Klee Kai - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt an Alaskan Klee Kai at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting an Alaskan Klee Kai from a shelter is typically $50 to $300, while smaller rescues may charge higher fees. The adoption fee may include an initial exam, preventatives, vaccines, microchipping, and spay/neuter.

Buying an Alaskan Klee Kai from a breeder, conversely, can be prohibitively expensive. Depending on their breeding, an Alaskan Klee Kai can cost $2,000 to $3,000.

The easiest way to adopt an Alaskan Klee Kai is through a rescue that specializes in Alaskan Klee Kais or northern breeds in general. A great place to start is with a breed search on Adopt a Pet, which will show you all the available Alaskan Klee Kais in your search radius.
