Story
Logan is a sweet, easy energy dog. He walks nicely on leash. He has some hair loss on his face. Ask staff about his treatment.Logan recently met some social dogs at our shelter and did fine.  He wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as he gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, he’ll be ready to show us his silly side with other dogs. Or he may just be content to co-exist and be friends but not playmates. Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Story
OMG is she ever a cutie....Darling Nellie is ready to love and be loved! She is an adorable 4-year-old, 24 pound, black and white, micro Bully / French bulldog mix. Wait till you meet this special girl. She came to us with a prolapsed vagina and had to be hospitalized for several months. She is so excited to be feeling well! She loves to do zoomies and will entertain you with her antics. She is a foodie and loves healthy treats. She loves to have her belly scratched and will nudge your hand to keep you scratching! She may need leash training (she is better suited for stroller rides) and may need some house training. She is well worth it. She will fill your heart with joy! Please love slobbery kisses! This sensitive breed needs a breed savvy owner. Please provide your experience in your application. Please be a homeowner, with a securely fenced yard. Nellie has been spayed and is currently vaccinated and micro-chipped. Nellie is waiting for her FUREVER home. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Dogs don't come any cuter than Daffodil! Daffodil is a 2-year-old bundle of fun who is eager to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. We haven't had the heart to tell her she is slightly too big to be a lap dog. Daffodil is fully grown and weighs around 55lbs. Daffodil came to us after she was found as a stray. One of our foster homes agreed to take her in until an owner was found, but an owner never came forward. A couple of weeks after she was found Daffodil gave birth to 9 puppies! Her puppies are now weaned and she and her babies are ready for their forever homes! Daffodil is a wiggly goofball and loves to explore and go on adventures. Now that she doesn't have to care for her babies she is ready to enjoy life and soak up all the human attention for herself. She can be a little cautious of new people, especially men, but with some tasty treats, she is quick to become your new BFF. Daffodil hasn't received any training but is very food-motivated and eager to learn. Her new family will need to be prepared to dedicate the time to work on her basic manners with her and help her be the best girl she can be. Daffodil has done well living with other dogs, but also wouldn't mind being your one and only canine companion. She needs a kitty-free home. Due to her rambunctious nature, Daffodil would do best with an adult-only home or with kids 14 years or older. Daffodil has been doing very well with her house and crate training. She sleeps through the night in her crate and has done well hanging out in there when home alone.  Daffodil is such a sweet girl and she deserves her happy-ever-after. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!   Daffodil's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. August 20, 2024, 1:56 am

Story
We got him from the back of a truck in the HomeDepot parking lot. We thought he was 4-6 months old, but discovered very quickly that he was 4 weeks old. He is an agressive chewer, and he terrorizes our cats. We did get him potty trained, but once he was over 40 pounds it was no longer safe for him to stay in our house. He is currently housed in a very large kennel, and we run him around in our backyard regularly. Sadly he cannot be inside because he jumps and was knocking down our children and myself. He is not a malicious dog, but he has too much energy and all attempts at advanced training have been unsuccessful.

Story
Meet Skipper, the affectionate 8-year-old American Bully who melts hearts with his gentle and loving nature. Despite his age, Skipper retains his playful spirit and adores spending time with his human companions. He's known for his sweet temperament and eagerness to please, making him a beloved member of any family. Like many bully breeds, Skipper battles with skin allergies, a common challenge that requires ongoing care and attention. Despite this, Skipper's resilient spirit shines through, and he continues to bring joy and companionship to those around him. With his endearing personality and unwavering loyalty, Skipper proves that age is just a number when it comes to being a cherished companion. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
