Story
Our big boy Draco has been in the family since birth . He’s 3 years old and has such a loving big personality. He’s doesn’t bark unless there’s danger . He loves children. He’s not a cat kind of guy. He’s very funny with his face expressions you’ll honestly think he’s human. He was an emotional service pet so he’s very in-tuned. We want him to have a safe space to thrive with a decent family and not be abused and mistreated on any level. He requires patience just like anything is this world. He listens and he needs a family that will listen to him. Are you that family?

Please contact Courtney Nobles (courtneyn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet older gent seeking happily ever after! CARL NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Carl        Best Guess for Breed: Bulldog and hound mix  Best Guess for Age:  7 years as of October 2024      Gender:Male Approximate Weight:46 lbs Gets Along With: Carl does well with other dogs. We haven't seen him with kids or cats but we can test him if you have them! Currently Living At: DC area foster home. Special Adoption Considerations: Carl is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Carl is Looking For: His forever home. This sweetie ended up in a shelter through no fault of his own - and he's closed that chapter. He's eager to once again have his own humans for long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. Don't let that frosty face fool you - he's got plenty of zest!  A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, lots of snugs - yep, all on his wish list too. But as a wise, experienced dog, he knows what's most important in life: To be safe and loved and under his own roof. He's got so much to offer in exchange - adoring gazes and loyal companionship, definitely, but he also promises to make you smile every day. What do you say? Are you Carl's soft landing? Is he the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Bella loves people and children. She is 5 years old old. She’s an escape artist. I am a 73 year old widow, and even with thousands of dollars spent to try to secure my large yard, she still manages to find some way to get out. She frightens the neighbors, because she looks like a pitbull. I have been threatened with lawsuits. I can not afford that. She would be great as a companion and security dog.

Story
Goldie is in a foster home! To meet her, email her foster caregivers at nhoffpauir@gmail.comGoldie is the sweetest dog and very easy to love. She`s potty trained and likes to sleep in which makes Foster Mama happy. She is somewhat crate trained and will happily chill in her crate with a Kong or some other long lasting treat, and has been good with short introductions to my cats. She LOVES to sniff her way around the neighborhood on low energy walks, though she does pull a bit on the leash to get to the best sniff spots. She thrives on attention and loves scratches and pets and sitting by or near you. She loves toys and will greet you with two or three that she wants to show off, but stuffies do not last long with her! :-)
