Story
Meet Oreo! 🖤🤍 Who doesn’t love an Oreo? 🍪 My name is Oreo, and I’m an 11-month-old, 43-pound mix from Texas. Right now, I’m undergoing heartworm treatment, but I’ll be ready to find my forever home by January! A Little About Me: I’m a curious and lovable pup who enjoys watching the world go by—whether it’s people or dogs passing by my foster’s windows. I’m very food-motivated and eager to please, so training me is both fun and rewarding! While I might need a moment to figure out what you’re asking, I’m always determined to get it right. My Personality: I’m a bit shy when meeting new people, but once I warm up, I’ll shower you with affection! Physical touch is my love language, and I adore snuggles. I’m also a loyal companion who loves following my foster mom around to see what she’s up to. My Foster Life: Other Dogs: I currently live with another dog, and we get along well. Before starting my heartworm treatment, we loved playing chase and tag at the dog park! Potty & Crate Training: I’m potty trained and sleep soundly in my crate at night without any accidents. Leash Manners: I’m still learning not to pull on the leash, but I’m improving every day. Barking: I rarely bark, but if I do, it’s just my way of asking for a little attention. Unknowns: I haven’t been introduced to children or cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. With proper introductions, I’m sure I could adjust. Could I Be Your Oreo? If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and cuddly companion who will be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, I might just be the perfect pup for you! Let’s make 2025 the year I find my forever home. 💕 Could I be your forever Oreo? 🐾 Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . Story
Meet Niko – Your New Best Friend! Hi, I’m Niko! I’m a 60-pound bully mix with a heart as big as my paws. Making friends is my specialty—I absolutely adore people and other dogs (cats, not so much, but hey, nobody’s perfect!). Whether you’re looking for a walking buddy or a snuggle partner, I’ve got you covered. I’m as active or as chill as you need me to be. Long walks? Count me in (I’m great on a leash)! Couch cuddles? Say no more. My foster family says I’m the best hugger they’ve ever met, and my big, goofy smiles make everyone’s day brighter. I’m potty-trained, and I’ve nailed commands like sit, stay, no, and potty outside. I also know my name really well and have amazing recall—even if a squirrel catches my eye, one call of my name and I’m right back at your side. I’m a survivor with a story. I was rescued from Texas by a local doggy daycare/boarding facility and brought here to find my forever home. Since then, I’ve been recovering like a champ from being neutered and treated for heartworms. My foster mom has been sneaking me back to her house a bunch though (shhh!), where I’ve been spoiled with love, belly rubs, and lots of time with her three other dogs. The vet staff adores me—they’ve even posted about me, and said I'm the “sweetest, silliest, most patient boy” and confessed they’re all a little in love with me (blushing!) I’m a big fan of toys and can keep myself entertained for hours. While my foster mom works in her office, I’m perfectly content chewing on a bone or playing with my favorite toys by her side. I love to play, especially with other bigger dogs I will probably do best with bigger dogs, because I am a moose 😂. Smaller animals, like cats, aren’t my vibe, so I’d do best in a home without them. I’m looking for my forever family—one that will cherish my sweet, calming presence and appreciate my hugs and snuggles as much as my foster family does. They keep saying how special I am, and while they’d love to keep me, I know there’s a perfect family out there waiting just for me. Could it be you? Story
Meet Phoebe! My name is Phoebe, I am named after the goddess of the moon with my beautiful dark brindle and grey eyes. I am a pint size beauty but don’t let that fool you, I love to stalk my siblings and climb to get them to play! I also enjoy a good cuddle after my play time and give gentle nibbles on your ears if you hold me close. I am 8 weeks old and about 6.5lbs. I am an American Pit Bull Terrier. I came with my 5 siblings from Texas at 4 days old and have been in foster home together with a foster family who has 5 dogs from 10-110lbs who have helped teach me the ropes of being a dog. Phoebe is the perfect mix of sweet and spunky spending her time playing with all of her dog friends and retreating to the closest lap for a nap or issuing a toe nibble to tell her foster mom to pick her up. She is the smallest puppy and fought hard to bottle feed and keep up, and has blossomed into a confident girl. She loves wrestling and hide and seek! She also loves a nap and kisses in your arms. She loves wrestling, tug of war, and curling up with her foster sister. She is very food motivated and has learned sit and touch with vocal and hand commands. She does respond to her name and will come running to you for hugs or to be picked up ! Phoebe thrives with dog & human friends and loves to have someone to cuddle with or play with. Phoebe is too cold even when it’s warm to want to do potty training outside but is working on it! She does well with her potty pads! She has not yet been introduced to a crate but is calm and relaxed in her playpen. She does great with all humans even as young as 2 and has been bottle fed, so human touch is very important to her. One of her other favorite things is a fluffy bed or blanket to comfort her when she needs a mama dog, she might even try to nurse before a nap. Phoebe has met cats at her grandma’s house and didn’t seem to mind, she is also respectful of senior dogs and plays respectfully with others. Her perfect family would continue her positive reinforcement training, love cuddles and puppy kisses, be active and have children and/or another dog or 2 for her to play with. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. Story
Hi, I’m Margot! I am a true survivor—I made a life-saving journey from a Texas kill shelter all the way to Illinois, and despite facing heartworm, I’ve bounced back stronger than ever! Now, I’m on the hunt for my forever family, and trust me, you’ll want to be part of my next chapter. Why You’ll Love Me: I’m the ultimate mix of playful, mellow, laidback, and affectionate. Whether it’s morning zoomies in the yard or snuggling up on the couch, I bring love and joy into every moment. The second you walk through the door, I’ll be there to greet you like you’re the most important person in the world—because to me, you are! My Favorite Things: *Chew toys (a must-have for my entertainment!) *Food/snacks (yours and mine—I’m not picky!) *Close cuddles/snuggles (the closer, the better!) *Head & ear scratches (I’ll melt into your hand and snooze) *Zoomies in the backyard (A house with a fenced in backyard would be a huge plus for me!) *Cozy couch naps (I’m an expert at this one) *Being around my people (your attention is my favorite thing) My Social Side: *People & kids: I currently live with three adults and two small children, and I love them all, including the little ones. I just ask for them to be gentle and respect my personal space. *Dogs/Cats: I’ve lived with two big dogs (male and female) and did great! I wouldn’t mind a sibling, but I do best with slow introductions. I have not been in contact with any cats but may do better without. My House Manners: *Potty trained (as long as I get regular potty breaks!) *Crate training (not my favorite, but a nudge & treats help!) *Leash skills (I walk well and don’t tend to pull—though my favorite part of the walk is coming home!) *Barking habits (I’ll sound the alarm if I see someone outside, but otherwise, I’m a quiet girl.) *Commands: I’m working on “sit,” “drop it,” and “off” and picking things up quickly (especially when treats are involved!) If you’re looking for a best friend who will brighten your days, make you smile with her playful spirit, and melt into your arms for the sweetest snuggles, then I might be the perfect match for you. I’ll be your most loyal companion, your happiest welcome home, and your coziest cuddle buddy. I can’t wait to meet you and fill your life with love! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . Story
Meet Kokomo Joe! Looking for a big, lovable goofball to brighten your days? Look no further—Kokomo Joe is here! This 80-85+ lb mixed breed boy may have had a rough start in Texas, but he's ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home filled with love and belly rubs. Kokomo Joe's story is heartbreaking—he was abandoned and starved when his previous owner was incarcerated, leaving him to fend for himself while his housemates were fed. When he first arrived, he was painfully thin, with every rib and his hip bones showing. He also had some food aggression, but who could blame him after all he'd been through? Thankfully, with regular meals and love, he now understands he’ll never go hungry again. He’s no longer protective of his food and hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression since. Despite his past, Kokomo Joe’s spirit shines bright! He’s a true fun-loving goober who doesn’t realize his own size. Whether he’s hopping around like Tigger or cuddling up as if he’s a tiny lap dog, this big guy will keep you smiling. His crate and house manners are spot-on—zero accidents here! He’s even learned to move his crate across the floor, proving he’s as strong as he is sweet. Kokomo Joe gets along with other dogs with proper introductions and would thrive in a home that can continue his training and give him the structure he needs. His ideal family will embrace his goofy, big-hearted nature and help him become the best boy he can be. If you’re ready to welcome this big, bouncy cuddle bug into your life, Kokomo Joe is ready to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). .
