Story
We got her from pet land and she is about 11 months old. She struggles to understand that the crate is not where she goes potty. We work a lot and feel it is unfair to her. She’s been great with kids and other dogs. She really is the sweetest girl but needs more activity than we can give her.

Story
Check out this handsome guy! Courage is currently our biggest resident, and is big gentle giant! When Courage came to us he initially was pretty nervous, but since gaining his trust he has really opened up. Courage is now a social butterfly and loves meeting new people. Courage appears to be potty trained and knows a couple of basic skills like "sit" and his favorite; "sit pretty"! Courage is a go with the flow type of guy, happily content to laze around on a comfy bed or go for an adventure. Courage does well with other dogs, though he comes on strong and likes to play rough so he would do best with other medium-large and playful dogs. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Courage home. If you're interested in meeting Courage, head over to out website, fairfieldcountydog.com and fill out an adoption application. Our staff will then reach out to you to schedule an appointment. Story
We were told that Yumi is an American Bully. She is a very sweet girl. She knows how to sit, lay down, paw, and stay. Yumi is a very energetic dog that needs someone that is going to have time to walk her and spend with her. She is good with older kids, we have never had her around smaller than the age of 9. She will let you know when she needs to go out to go the bathroom. Her birthday is 3/09/2024. She is still in her puppy faze. She is up to date with her shots and is microchipped. We would just love to see her go to a loving home that will have the time she needs to spend with her. She also loves to play in the snow. She is great on walks. I do have all her vet records.

Story
CloveyFemaleAge: 3 yearsWeight: 48 lbsBreed: American Bulldog Hi! I’m Clovey. I am a cuddly and active girl who gets along with other dogs as long as we are able to meet with a slow introduction. I have not been around cats or kids to know how I would do around them yet. When I am out of my crate I will go to the door and let you know I need to go out. I am still working on my crate training as I don’t like to be separated from my humans.  My favorite snacks are hot dogs! I love those things. I also know the command “sit” and will come to you when you call for me. I enjoy the Bark Box fuzzy toys. I like to run in the backyard and play with my fur sibling and oh boy do I love to cuddle. I really love being around my humans and am a very loving dog when I am the one getting all of the attention. I cannot wait to find my very own active family who will give me all the love and attention I deserve and who will be patient with me as I continue to learn. If you are interested in meeting sassy and cuddly girl, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##2084245##

Story
Harriet was found on St. Rt. 13, north of Glouster, near the new school bus garage (Kellys Stretch). She is thought to be around 4 years old. Harriet currently weighs 75 pounds. When dogs come into the stressful shelter environment, there are many possible reactions. Some dogs completely shut down, others cry and seek affection, and then there are dogs like Harriet who have big feelings about the whole thing! Harriet is not pleased about being in the shelter and would initially show it by barking in her kennel, jumping and pulling toward other dogs, and acting aloof towards her handler. Just like many dogs who have been abandoned, Harriet felt the need to act tough to survive. While we admired Harriet's strong will, eventually she has shown us her more sensitive side. It turns out that Harriet loves stuffed animals. She will even take them on a walk with her, carrying them gently in her mouth the whole way. Occasionally Harriet will dismember her stuffed friends, but we know it's out of love. When Harriet is stressed, she will seek comfort and reassurance from you and glue herself to your side. When strong dogs show you their soft side, it absolutely melts your heart. Outside of the shelter, Harriet is an altogether different dog. She is goofy and soaks up all the attention she can get. The shelter is not a comfortable place for Harriet and she needs a home to truly succeed.

Story
Tatum was found as a stray at Georgetown Animal Hospital in Brown County, OH. No one came for her or claimed her, leading Georgetown Animal Hospital to contact us to see if we would be willing to take her on. Well here she is! Tatum is a young bulldog/ pit mix who is a social butterfly! She loves people and being around them. Tatum needs a home with an active owner and someone who can keep her busy. She knows the basic commands of sit and stay. She loves king balls with peanut butter, treats, going on walks, and car rides. Tatum is fully vetted with a fecal and Heart-worm test; both were negative. Tatum would be great around children of all ages but she has the energy of a pup still. Tatum needs to be evaluated with cats and dogs to see how she handles the situation, which we will be performing soon. Tatum is crate trained, potty trained, and ready for adoption! If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!
