Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Reese! (FKA Brutus) This delicious peanut butter and chocolate treat has waited far too long for a family. We have come to know him and have found that he is a very sweet, mild-mannered, good ole boy who deserves a loving home with plenty to do. He enjoys walking, running, playing, kissing, and lying around. He loves booty and belly rubs as well as treats and food. He will even “sit” for treats when commanded. Reese has done well with other dogs and loves having playmates. He is doing well with potty training and listening to his person. The reality is, he is a big baby doll who just needs a home and a family who appreciates his independence and energy. He is teachable and there is a big love bug inside that beautiful brindle coat. He is still working on not jumping on people to greet them with excitement and not pulling on his leash. He will get there. Like so many, his story is sad and unfair, but we are believing for a happy ending. He is going to make a perfect house pet one day. We see Reese as a man's man's dog to go on adventures or a great family dog as a sweet, goofy companion. Don’t overlook this handsome fella. Apply for him today!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 7:36 pm

Story
Miss Gracie is a happy lady looking for a home to call her own. Despite being a middle aged girl she still has some energy left and would greatly appreciate an outlet for her zoomies before she's ready to snuggle up with you. She is a big fan of toys and loves a good game of tug. She is an instant lover and warms up to people quickly, and is quite the cuddle-bug once you're her friend. Gracie loves her people so much that she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. If you are interested in meeting Gracie, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Tater Tot was found as a stray in Columbus, Ohio in May. Tater was very underweight and had various injuries he needed to heal from. He is believed to be a Boxer mix, possibly with Rhodesian Ridgeback as he has the classic coloring down his back. Tater is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Tater is a very energetic and loving dog, always wanting to be around people and would be in a lap 24/7 if he could. He loves to play fetch, tug of war, and going on walks. He is currently living with 2 cats and has done well with supervised visits/slow introductions with other dogs, but is mostly unsocialized and needs time/training to learn how to interact safely with other animals. He knows sit, lay down, wait, and stay and currently learning shake and spin. He is a powerful chewer and should not have toys that are easily torn/broken, but has not had issues with destroying things around the house. Tater needs an owner that can walk/play with him frequently due to his high energy.

Story
A gorgeous blue velvet Staffordshire/ Boxer mix with a soft coat, Finnick has lots of love to share. He has lots of energy, loves rolling in the grass and playing fetch. Finnick enjoys hanging out with people outside during playtime. He would enjoy being the only in pet in the home with a fenced yard and would love to be your companion . With an estimated birth date of March 2, 2021 and weighing 58 pounds, Finnick has been vet checked, neutered, is up to date on vaccines, on flea & heartworm prevention. Currently he is on sensitive stomach food. We hope that once he is out of the stresses of the shelter, he might be able to return to regular dog food. We ask a donation of $145 cash to help with vet expenses and a dog license. Pets are seen by appointment. We ask people to complete an interest form which is online at https://pawshumane.weebly.com/interest-form.html . If you use an iphone, please email us for a fillable form at pawshumanesocietyinc@gmail.com

Story
Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited or wants something (we now know that comes from the Boxer in her). Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. We don't know why Gypsy has not been adopted yet. She is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy normally does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She would also prefer a home without annoying toy dogs or puppies that get in her face. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. Gypsy is smart and might benefit from more obedience training from someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is a sweet dog. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy must be in the house as a loved family member. She must be walked on a leash and have a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. She is now heartworm-free and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to a location close to you. Stops include, but are not limited to, Cincinnati, Columbus, or Akron OH. Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you would like to make this amazing girl part of your family! Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
