Story
Jake is house trained, enjoys neighborhood walks, car rides, golf cart rides, being brushed and petted, getting a bath, and being with you. He is a loyal dog who will lean into you when you pet him and he wags his tail with happiness. The Weimaraner breed is known for their light amber colored eyes - and grey/blue eyes, and Jake has one of each! It was fun for our foster volunteers to see how willing Jake was to try new things - jumping into the neighbor’s golf cart for a ride in Sun City, sampling a morning smoothie, walking into the shower and letting them give him a bath, showing off his obedience commands and his trick `shake`. He was such a good sport about everything he was introduced to. Jake walks nicely on leash, he keeps pace with you, but also likes to occasionally pause and sniff the flowers and bushes along the way. And he likes car rides. The very first time our volunteers opened the car door for Jake, he hopped right in. Jake loved it! While Jake is polite when meeting other dogs on neighborhood walks, he does want to be the only dog in his home and he wouldn’t enjoy visiting dog parks. He would also like not to live with cats. He doesn`t always want to share his things so any children in his new home should be age 10 or older. A consultation will be provided to Jake`s adopter to learn more about him and his individual needs. ***Check out my video by clicking `play` under my photos!***Adoption Fee: $150Monthly Promo Applies

Meet Chevy, a social butterfly with an infectious zest for life! This playful, fetch-loving companion is always ready to go at a moment’s notice but equally happy to wind down when it’s time to relax. While he’s still getting the hang of household noises, his eagerness to learn and bond with his people makes him a joy to be around. Chevy’s a leaner, a lover, and your perfect mix of energy and affection—what more could you ask for? If there are any doggy pals in his new home, his shelter friends will provide a dog introduction prior to adoption. This means he wouldn`t enjoy dog parks either. Story
Meet Bounty! He is a sweet, goofy boy looking for a family to call his own. His constantly wagging tail and wiggly body are always there to greet you when you come home. He is quick to make friends and loves to be pet and cuddled. Bounty’s favorite thing is to play with toys and he is always up for a game of fetch. His playful nature and boundless energy would be a great fit for anyone looking for an active companion to hike or run with. He is young and still learning how to play gently. Also, he does not always like to share his favorite toys, so we require that any children in his new home are age 10 or older. He may do well with other playful dogs in his new home after a slow introduction. However, he is required to go to a home without cats or other small animals since he finds them too interesting. Bounty`s youthful vigor and zest for life make him a perfect family pet. Adopt Bounty and let his cheerful spirit brighten your life. Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promotion Applies!

Creme Brulee is the epitome of loyalty, always by your side, eager to give and receive love. She`s friendly, welcoming everyone with a wagging tail and a playful bounce. Story
***At this time we are ONLY doing adoptions within the immediate Sacramento area. Please fill out an adoption application on our website.*** My name is LOLA, aka LalalalaLola, Lolita Mamacita, Lowes, Lolo. (My humans love nicknames.) I answer to all of them, especially if there's food or a rubdown involved. My humans called me Lola because I am low to the ground. I think I'm just aerodynamic. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m 9 years old! I came to my humans with four itty bitty puppies, which I cared for and played with, until they got their new homes. I am proud to say I raised beautiful, if rambunctious, pups! My perfect day is: get up; stretch in my crate; eat breakfast; go outside and potty; sunbathe in the backyard (I know all the best places to go as the sun moves); hangout and watch TV with my humans for awhile (especially Animal Planet, I sleep if the news is on); hang out in my crate until the big guy gets home; go for a walk; eat dinner; go potty and watch some TV before bed. I am learning good manners. I know sit, down, leave it and off. I obey about 80% of the time. I also know to wait for my food and to wait to be invited in the house or out the gate. I am a work in progress. With consistency I'm a fast learner and love to make my humans happy. I love to fetch exactly 2.5 times, with great enthusiasm. My favorite toy is...I'm not sure. I eat them before I grow to like them. But a frozen cow bone section keeps me happy for months. I love humans of all shapes and sizes. Cuddling is my favorite game. My humans say I can't hold my licker, but I think they secretly love it. It's really hard to keep all my love inside. I gotta let it fly! I prefer to be the only dog in the house. I really like watching them on TV, but don't see the need to share my home with them. With all this love, why would you want more than me? I have a very waggy tail, a happy-go-lucky disposition, and am about 9 years old. Give me a home and I'll give you all my love and my very best efforts to melt your heart! Lola should be the only pet in the house. She prefers to be able to only have to share her love with her humans. 💗💗💗 The adoption fee for Lola is $300 Interested in meeting this dog or another one of our available dogs? Simply complete and submit our adoption application on our website www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org (FROM YOUR HOME COMPUTER, not cell phones, yet! We’re working on that!!) and we will respond to you within 3-5 days. Once a yard check is completed and you’ve passed the adoption process, you’re welcome to meet any of our dogs!!! NorCal Bully Breed Rescue (NBBR) is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread throughout the Sacramento area. We require our adopters to be within a 50 mile radius of us. This is because we need to do a physical yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. (*FaceTime or Skype are NOT acceptable methods of communication regarding yard checks.) We HAVE made exceptions for dogs that have been with us long term, and for senior dogs. We would still need to perform a yard check, and would be happy to do so for a dog that has been passed over repeatedly, but not for dogs that are in high demand. It would need to be to a neighboring state to California. NOT across the country. That would be too much. (*We will NOT be making this exception for puppies or designer breed dogs, so please don’t ask. It’s way too much for us to have to request time off of work and lose pay to drive a dog out of area when we have plenty of great homes in our area wanting to adopt these dogs.) We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and typically range from $200-$500. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary). In the case of designer breed dogs, like French Bulldogs and English Bulldogs, the adoption fee will be significantly higher in order to offset the costs associated with their surgeries, or associated with their demand. Thanks so much for your interest, and we hope we are able to match you up with your next family member!!! Looking forward to your application!!!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi! I am Salt! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am such a sweet girl! 🥰 HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am around three years old as of August 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh a perfect 55 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am black with a white chest and white paws, and a giant happy smile full of love! 😍 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Oh, I love my yummy kibble, but I won’t turn you down if you want to offer me a tasty morsel from the treat jar as a reward for being such a good girl! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I can be shy when meeting new people, but I am quick to warm up and then I am everyone’s best friend! I love attention and “talk” a lot to make sure that everyone knows I’m supposed to be getting the MOST attention! 🤭 DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is hanging out with my people and playing with my foster brother, Sage, until we are tired. Then it’s nap time! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I really enjoy bones of all sorts. I also like to play fetch with stuffies that my foster mom throws for me. That is the MOST fun!🧸 DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I will sit like such a good girl in exchange for a yummy treat! I am food motivated, so I would love to learn more tricks if you’d like to feed me more! WHAT SCARES YOU? I am cautious around new people and dogs. With slow introductions, I will figure out that I don’t need to worry about new things, so please show me patience. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes, I have! I have been around some 11-year-olds and I do very well. Because I am a bit uncertain about new things, it is probably best for me to hang out with older kids rather than little ones, since the little ones will not understand my need for taking things slowly. DO YOU LIKE CATS? Oh, no thank you. I am not a fan of cats. 🐱 HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? If you set me up for success with slow, safe introductions, I would love to have a dog to play with. My foster brother and I have lots of fun playing together.🐶 IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? With my forever family and possibly a foster sibling! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? When I was rescued, I had some injuries to my shoulders and pelvis, but those have healed up nicely. When I run, I have a bit of a hitch in my giddy-up, but that doesn’t stop me from having fun! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, foster sister, their three resident dogs, three resident cats (who I do not like), and another foster dog sister. My closest companion is Sage, my foster brother Rhodesian Ridgeback.💕 WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? When I am home alone, I am either in the kitchen/living room area for short periods of time, or in my X-pen in the garage. No matter where I am, I do not have a problem being alone. I am such a good girl! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my cozy X-pen in the garage.😴 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do not mind walking on a leash. I get a bit overexcited when I see other dogs on a leash, but if you take the time to work with me, I will learn to temper my excitement.🐕‍🦺 DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I am an enthusiastic playmate and sometimes get a little excited, but I'm still learning my boundaries. I prefer to enjoy my meals and bones in peace, and I appreciate when my space is respected during those times. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes! I am house trained and will wait for my foster mom to take me out to go potty. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do! Sometimes I get to play with water when my mom is washing her car, and that is so much fun! I am also a very good girl when it comes to bath time! 🛁 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster family has been so wonderful helping me recover from my injuries and helping me not be scared. I am learning what it feels like to be safe and loved, and that’s the most amazing feeling! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I actually don’t remember too much about the “before times.” I got hurt and ended up in a shelter, which wasn’t very fun. But then NorCal Bully Breed Rescue swooped in and got me out of that place so I could heal in a safe, comfortable, loving foster home. Now I am feeling so much better and it is time for me to find my forever family! I would love to meet you and come home with you for cuddles and loves! 💖 ⭐️SALT’S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 100.⭐️ If you are interested in adopting SALT, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! My name is Angel. 😇 ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I am a sweet little girl.🎀 HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m about 1-1/2 years old as of October 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a pit bull mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh about 40 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? For starters, I’m a tri-pod, which means that I have three legs instead of four! Pretty cool, right? Some say I look like “Pete the Pup” from the Little Rascals, but I have to politely disagree because I’m much cuter! I’m mostly brown with white on my face, chest, and toes. My best feature is my signature brown patch on my right eye. 🐶 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Anything. Seriously, I’ll even eat lettuce. 🥬 Somehow, I still manage to keep my girlish figure. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am so sweet and happy ALL the time! I love everyone, I just want to experience ALL the fun things that life has to offer. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would consist of car rides, playing with my ball and other dogs, car rides, pup cups, car rides and naps. Did I mention I like car rides? 😉🚗 WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh boy, my absolute favorite toy is a squishy non-destructible ball. I want my ball with me at all times! If it gets too dirty, I’ll find the nearest bowl of water to wash it off. My ball and I have so much fun together! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know how to catch treats – that was a top priority to learn. I am also learning the command “gentle,” and I figure that’s a great way to get more treats! WHAT SCARES YOU? Not much – except vacuums. When my foster mom vacuums, I’ll wait outside until she’s done. Oh, and I don’t really like being alone. That’s no fun, and I’m all about the fun! 🥳 HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I haven’t been around children yet. DO YOU LIKE CATS? When I was at the store one time, I got to sniff a carrier that had a kitten inside. I was very nice and polite to that kitty, but I have not interacted directly with any yet. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like other dog friends with proper introductions. I have a high-energy play style and some dogs might not like that, so it will be important that my forever family set me up for success when meeting new dogs. 🐶 IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? On the couch snuggling with my foster mom and my foster brothers. Cuddles are the BEST! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Excellent! I successfully recovered from surgery to remove my injured hind leg, and now I am the picture of good health! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my two foster brothers, Buster (pit bull mix) and Oliver (chihuahua mix). I love them both. But my favorite buddy is Buster. I love using him as a pillow. We have a lot of fun together. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I like the comfort of my kennel. My foster mom keeps the room dark with a fan on for white noise. This helps to keep me calm. ☺️ WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Don’t tell anyone, but I convinced my foster mom to let me sleep on the bed with my foster brothers. But I also don’t mind sleeping in my kennel. 💤 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I LOVE walking on a leash. I get a little excited, but can you blame me? I can move around pain-free now! But I suppose I do need to work on my leash manners a bit. 🦮 DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Funny you should ask… I have been known to do a little landscaping in the yard on occasion. I’ve got a pretty good eye for these things, if you ask me! 😜 As I mentioned before, I don’t love being alone for long periods of time, and sometimes I take out my frustrations on my blanket or bed. Oops! 🤭 ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes, I’m potty trained. No issues there! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do love water! I love to drink it. I love to play in it. I love to wash my toys in it. When it was hot, I could stay in my foster brothers’ pool all day! I even like baths, if you can believe that! 🛁 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster brothers are the best! I really love cuddling with them. And car rides are my favorite, since they often result in us getting pup cups on the weekends. My foster mom shows me how to be a good girl and I know I am safe with her. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? Oh, I don’t hang on to the past anymore. I ended up in the shelter with an injury to my hind leg, and things were not great until NorCal Bully Breed Rescue came and rescued me from that place. While I have been healing from my surgery, I’ve learned what it is like to have a safe and loving space. And, wow, life with someone loving me is pretty great! I’d really like to find a home where I will be loved forever. Would you please take me home with you? 💕 ⭐️ANGEL’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.⭐️ If you are interested in adopting ANGEL, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Majik! It’s pronounced like “Magic,” because I am kinda magical. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a darling boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? Estimates say I am about nine years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am an American Bully! DNA tests confirmed that I’m 100 percent American Bully, but I don’t let my “purebred” status go to my head… we all knew I was perfect even before the DNA test! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m around 65 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a black coat with a white snout, chest and feet, and because I am a distinguished older gentleman, I also have some salt and pepper accents here and there. I am broad across the chest and medium height, and I only have one eye. More on that later. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like kibble. I also eat any treat you give me, which makes me easier to train. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?? WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m a happy boy, who wags and wags and wags my tail when I see most humans. Even when I came into the shelter all beat-up and in so much pain, the medical staff commented on how my tail kept wagging and I was so friendly. Oh, and I love walks! At first, I charge along, like I have somewhere important to be, but my foster mom is working on that, and a front-clasp EasyWalk harness is helping. Also, once I do my business, I slow down a lot and really start to just smell the roses— er, grass and bushes. At home, I sleep a lot, because I am so relaxed and because I am a senior guy, who has lived a hard life (on hard surfaces) until now. I also love a good cuddle so much. I just push my enormous head against you and grunt like a pig. It is the cutest. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would involve lots of movies and TV with my humans; endless snacks; slow, meandering wanders through wide, open spaces without other dogs; followed by naps on a blanket in the sun. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh boy, I have just learned how much fun toys are since I have been at my foster home! My absolute favorite toys are soft toys. I could chew those for hours! And I get a yummy frozen Kong at bedtime, which is the best way to end the day, right?! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I sit like a pro and I’m working on other commands like Stay, Wait and Down. I also know Shake. I might be nine years old, but I am smart and very treat-motivated! WHAT SCARES YOU? Other animals. Anything that moves in the distance. Loud roving groups of people. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? No, not yet. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I would have to say “no, thank you” to cats. I am very reactive to anything that moves outside, especially dogs and cats. There is a foster cat inside my home but I am being kept completely apart from her. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I have been through kind of a lot in my many years, and I would like to be the only dog in the house please. There is a foster dog inside my home, but I am being kept completely apart from her. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Wherever you are. And if I’m allowed on your couch, I think that’s gonna be my favorite spot in the house. I love my dog bed, too, though. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I think I am pretty healthy for an older guy. I had my teeth checked recently and there are a few cracked ones, but they said they did not look too bad overall. My foster mom is going to start brushing them soon! My blood panel looked good, too! I am starting to get a little creaky in my joints and so I have a slight limp but I am pretty spry for an older guy. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and her wife, and they have a resident dog and a cat, but I have not met them yet and I don’t know that I ever will. I absolutely adore both my foster moms, but I spend most of my time with one of them, because she works from home and hangs out with me a lot. And she holds a special place in my heart because she’s the one who rescued me from the shelter. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? In the detached garage, where I am also living right now. You can see more below about why I am not crated. I have been trusted to be free when I am alone for almost a month, and I just like to lie around snoring. I am really such a good boy. I do not have separation anxiety and I do not destroy anything while I am out there alone. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep on one of my two beds in the detached garage where I live. My foster mom does not crate me. She did the first night and I slept so well there, because I was exhausted from the shelter. But the second night, when she crated me, I whimpered in the most pathetic way, she couldn’t stand it. I had already been through so much and she had watched me on camera already that day, so she was pretty sure I would not mess anything up if I was free to roam. And she was right! I was a perfect angel and just slept on one of my two beds all night. Oh, did I mention, too, that I snore like a freight train? DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do! I pull a bit at first but my foster mom is working on that and my harness is helping. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I don’t know if you can call my reactivity a habit; it’s more like a part of my psyche at the moment. It does mean that I need your help to keep me calm and comfortable on our walks by choosing places that don’t have other dogs around to upset me. My foster mom is working on creating “new emotions” around this. But otherwise, no, I have no bad habits! I might stare at you when you are eating, but you can ignore me and I will give up and go away. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I’m potty-trained and I have not had a single accident! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do not seem to mind it. I walk through puddles like they are not even there. I stand patiently for a bath and even though my foster mom put a raincoat on me recently to walk in the rain. (I looked so dapper and handsome in it!) I did not seem to mind at all when we both finished the walk soaking wet. Humans can be so cautious! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love their gentle pets, and how much they love and protect me. I get treats and I have a warm (or cool, depending on the time of year), dry, comfy place to sleep! Every day is a new adventure, filled with interesting smells, delicious food and new lessons. I love to learn. Even though I am a senior, I am not set in my ways! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? No one knows exactly, but I came into the shelter with severe trauma that vets determined had been inflicted upon me that day. They suspected a skull fracture and I also had puncture wounds from another dog. My right eye had to be removed and I had callouses all over my legs from having spent long hours lying on hard surfaces. I just wanted somewhere quiet to decompress and recover from everything, and I got it with my foster family. But I cannot live in their garage forever! While I am with them, they are spending tons of time with me, giving me love and training, and peace and quiet. But I do look forward to being inside a house one day. Will you please take me home with you and love me forever? I will be the cuddliest, most grateful creature you have ever known. **MAJIK’S ADOPTION FEE IS $100.00.** If you are interested in MAJIK, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hello! I am Martini! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I'm a girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I think I'm about three years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am an American Bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am 50 svelte pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I look like a lot of fun. But, I'm also a stocky girl with a black/tri-colored coat and the hugest smile! So yeah, I’m gorgeous! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Oh, I think the easier question here would be, “What do you NOT like to eat?” And the answer would be, “Nothing!” If you’re offering, I’m eating! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I'm a bunch of fun. I'm outgoing and love to run around. I love everyone I meet, and everyone I meet says I’m a bundle of fun! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I love everything everyday. I'm super happy whether we're outside hanging out or lounging inside. I'm your gal! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I'm not really into toys. Occasionally, I'll chew on a Nylabone. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know how to eat all the food in my bowl. Pretty tricky, right? I come when called and I kennel up nicely. WHAT SCARES YOU? Not a thing. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I haven't been around young children. I think kids eight years and above would be best as I have some smooth moves that only older kids can appreciate. DO YOU LIKE CATS? No cats for me. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like other dogs with a proper introduction. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Free fallin' in love with you. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m all good! Ready to take on all that life has to offer! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I hang out with several other dogs. We can run and play all day. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am so happy hanging out, usually belly-up, in my kennel. I catch up on my beauty sleep and truly love my down time. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Same as above. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Sure do! If it gets me out and about in the big fabulous world, count me in! DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Hmm. Is wagging my tail nonstop with a giant smile on my face a not-so-great habit? No? OK, then no, I do not have anything to report here. My foster mom says I am PERFECT, and I tend to agree with her! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes I do! I’m such a good girl! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I like to drink water but no pools/ponds or lakes for me. I'm not a swimmer, I have more of a powerlifter physique. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They took me in when no one else would. I was stuck at the shelter until they came and fell in love with me and took me home. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? That's water under the bridge. Nothing but great days ahead as long as I'm with you. Let’s have some fun! I’ll be your best friend forever! **MARTINI’s ADOPTION FEE IS $300.00** If you are interested in MARTINI, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi! My name is Luciano! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I'm a good boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born in September 2015. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? American Staffordshire Terrier HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? If I had a driver's license, it would say 60lbs. But I'm a few pounds over that. I won't judge if you don't. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? Handsome! I have the most AMAZING smile that will guarantee to make you happy just looking at me. My clipped ears are an often talked about feature. But the ladies tell me that my green eyes are mesmerizing. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I am a good eater! I eat my kibble, but I also like sweet potatoes, Greek yogurt, watermelon and apples. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Whoever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks was definitely not talking about me. I love to try new things. The more I am in new situations, the better I learn to handle it. Most days are pretty normal, though, and I've got a chill vibe with a large dose of loving. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: EAT! Walk. Sleep. Get some cuddles. Back to sleep. Play - I love the water most, but I also love tug-of-war or chase. I like brain games, too. Back to sleep. EAT! All I want to do after that is cuddle and sleep. My day is over! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Believe it or not, my favorite thing to play with is water from the hose! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Sit, Wait, Plotz (lay down), Shake, Return, Leave It, No, and Yes. I've been getting pretty good lately at staying in my designated spot when my foster mom opens the door to get a delivery, too. WOW, impressive, right? Yeah, I'm a pretty smart dude! WHAT SCARES YOU? I am not a huge fan of loud banging sounds. Does anyone really like them, though? HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yep! I love kids!! DO YOU LIKE CATS? Enh, no thanks... I am not a cat guy. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I am currently the only dog in my foster home and am pretty particular about letting other dogs into my solo lifestyle. While I was successfully, and slowly, introduced to a puppy in my space, it would be best that I am the only dog in the home. I deserve to be given the royal treatment and have ALL the attention for myself, right?! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? On a human lap. Or a dog pool. That's a hard one. Maybe on your lap IN the pool? HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Grrrreat! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and human brother. I don't choose favorites. I know who to go to depending on what I want. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am such a good boy when I am alone! I just hang out on my comfy bed. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? You guessed it... I am all about my bed! DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I LOVE walks! It has taken a lot of practice, but I am good on a leash. I do best with consistent rules. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I've been known to check the yard for weak spots and to patrol for cats, but when everything is cool, I just like to hang out in the yard and sunbathe. I don't bark much, only when I'm nervous or playing. You could go days and not hear me bark. I admittedly get excited when new people are in the house, or we pass a reactive dog on a walk. My foster mom has learned some strategies to help me calm down faster in these situations. She can teach you, too. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yep! Got that bit taken care of a long time ago! DO YOU LIKE WATER? Let's gooo! Water water water!! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love them most for cuddles and letting me spend more time outside in the world. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I spent a lot of time in a crate and my experiences were very limited. But since I was saved from that life, I have learned how to enjoy every bit of love and fun that I can find. I am hoping to find a family that will give me as much love as I have to share with them. Will you take me home and love me forever? ***LUCIANO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100.00*** If you are interested in Luciano please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Tootsie Roll, an adorable English Bulldog with a heart as sweet as her name. Tootsie Roll is a special pup, as she has Spina Bifida, a condition that affects her bladder and bowel control. Despite this, Tootsie Roll walks just fine, radiating joy with every step. To manage her incontinence, Tootsie Roll wears a diaper, a routine that, for those unfamiliar, is not as daunting as it may seem. It requires less than half an hour of care each day, and the more time without a diaper, the better off she is. This lovable Bulldog is, otherwise, a "normal" English Bulldog, complete with the charming quirks that make the breed so beloved. Tootsie Roll isn't a fan of hot weather, but the joys of diapers mean that outings are more flexible, especially during hot or rainy days. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to her condition, Tootsie Roll's resilience shone through, and she is now ready to bring joy to a loving home. This happy and social girl adores attention, playtime, and, yes, she snores loud! Tootsie Roll would thrive in a home with another dog companion, relishing in playful interactions. However, humans willing to engage in tug-of-war and toss games will also find her to be the perfect playmate. Caring for a dog with Spina Bifida involves managing skin care and bowel and bladder functions, but this can be navigated through various approaches. Tootsie Roll's foster parent has found success by using a pen at night and during work hours to give her diaper-free time. For those interested in welcoming Tootsie Roll into their lives, the adoption process is conveniently available online at http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/. The adoption fee of $500 covers her spaying, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. This fee is waived for a home with a human also dealing with Spina Bifida, recognizing the unique connection that can be formed. To gain insights into caring for a dog with Spina Bifida, there's a helpful Facebook group dedicated to English Bulldogs with the condition. Additionally, for information on bowel management, the website https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/bowel-management-incontinent-pets/ can be a valuable resource. Tootsie Roll is more than a pet; she's a testament to resilience and the capacity for love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special Bulldog, she is eagerly waiting for her perfect forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
Introducing London! She is a beautiful boxer/American bulldog mix (per dna test) who was out of time in the shelter. Her estimated dob is 3/1/24 and should be around 50 to 55lbs full grown. London is doing well.  She is a typical puppy who needs rules and boundaries. London needs proper introductions to strangers.  She is easily redirected to her toys and has been good about not chewing things in the house  She does like to dig a little and explore the yard.  She is doing great with the other pack members in the house and loves her visits to another foster to play with a group of youngsters!.  She is an exhuberant player. And London really likes the water! We are walking in the neighborhood daily.  She is also learning basic commands. She is now on to the Intermediate obedience class and is picking up the commands quickly.  London stays in a crate at night and when her foster mom is away from the house. Potty training has been conquered. And London uses a dog door.  Car rides are also going well.  Cats are unknown. London's wish list: 1.   secure yard 2.   no small children 3.   Obedience training ongoing 4.   Daily walks 5.   Continued socialization   6.   A playful dog friend would be good too!   Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Meet Gordo, a vivacious dog with an infectious energy that fills any room he bounds into. A friend to all, Gordo`s warm-hearted nature and playful spirit make him a joy to be around. Independent and full of life, Gordo loves to explore and play, but he also knows when it`s time to relax and enjoy quiet moments. He`s quick to learn new tricks, making him a delight to train. Gordo`s boundless energy and love for play would make him a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle. Adopt Gordo and let his playful energy and loving spirit bring joy and excitement to your life. Gordo does not always like to share his favorite toys and treats, so we are requiring that any children in his new home are age 10 or older so they can understand his boundaries. He also does not like to share with other dogs, so we are requiring that he is the only dog in his new home. A consult with our management team will be provided before meeting with Gordo.Adoption Price: $200
