Story
Henry is a stunningly handsome boy with a big heart. He won everyone in the rescue over when he was rescued at the very last minute and then found to have severe pneumonia in both lungs. Henry has since recovered and we are so glad that we got to save him both from shelter euthanasia and also from the significant sickness that he had while he was sheltered. Henry is calm in the home and easy to walk on the leash. He loves to chew on his toys and doesn't chew on other things in the home. Henry is crate trained, housetrained and is not much of a barker. Henry deserves the absolute best forever home! ADOPTION DISCLAIMER: At Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3), we aim to provide accurate information about all of our animals to the best of our abilities. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Gloria is a charming 2-year-old petite girl (under 40lbs) who is looking for her forever family. She has completed her two-week decompression period after her stay at the shelter and is now spayed, healthy, and ready to join a loving home. Gloria is a bundle of joy with a gentle disposition, making her great with kids. Despite her small size, she has a lot of energy and can be a bit jumpy at times so adult supervision while interacting with little kids is always best practice (as is with any dog). She enjoys her daily walks and walks well on a loose leash, stopping at intersections on command. Gloria does well on pack walks with dog friends, and loves playing in the pool and exploring the yard. While Gloria adores making doggy friends for walks, she prefers to be the only princess in the house, so she would thrive best as an only dog. She is incredibly lovable and enjoys meeting new people! If you're looking for a playful, affectionate companion who will bring endless joy to your life, Gloria is the perfect match for you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ADOPTION DISCLAIMER: At Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3), we aim to provide accurate information about all of our animals to the best of our abilities. Story
Nautica, aka Nauty, is a sweet senior girl looking for a family with a free hand for pets and comfy couch to curl up next to you on. She is housetrained, crate trained and takes relaxing short walks on a loose leash. Nautica would be happiest with a family who appreciates long naps and quality time hanging out and watching the Golden Girls. She would prefer that her future family keep a well-stocked snack cabinet and not judge her for her portion sizes. Nautica rides well in the car and takes treats gently. She has done well with children and could go to a home with kids assuming proper parental supervision. Nautica has done well with the other dogs, cats and kittens that she's met while in foster and would enjoy being in a family with other pets. What her foster says about Nauty: Naty is the perfect, ultra-low maintenance, petite pup anyone could ask for! She is crate-trained, good with dogs, cats, and children, and is really quiet (no barking). Naty likes short walks, expresses when she is ready to go back home, and her favorite past-times are snacking and snuggling. She just wants to be near her family, and would be the perfect fit for someone who wants an easy to care for companion. She does happy cries when you come back home, whether it's 10 minutes later or two hours later. She has a big heart with a lot of love to give! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ADOPTION DISCLAIMER: At Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3), we aim to provide accurate information about all of our animals to the best of our abilities. Story
Hazel has the kind of unique coloring and perfectly symmetrical facial features that often make strangers stop and comment on how lovely she is. Ironically, Hazel is shy when meeting new people and would prefer that they just admire her without stopping! Hazel has bonded closely with her foster mom and foster cat siblings, but prefers to keep her social circle small. She is calm in the home and isn't much of a barker. Her favorite activities are watching and stalking squirrels, chewing on her favorite toys and napping in a sun spot/curling up in a cozy spot with her foster cat siblings. Hazel is housetrained and non-destructive in her foster home. Hazel has anxiety about her foster mom leaving, so she is currently starting separation anxiety training with Force Free DC training and is under the care of a Veterinary Behaviorist to help her feel her best and continue gaining confidence that will translate to her new home when she is adopted. Story
Meet Taz, the 60-pound bundle of love and energy that's all set to light up your life! This charming boy, with his big head and goofy smile, is bound to steal your heart right from the get-go. Taz is house and crate trained, and he's all about the scratches, pets, and chasing toys-if showering a dog with affection is your thing, he's your guy. Taz loves adventures, whether it's hiking or splashing around in water. If you need a fun-loving pup to tag along on your outings, Taz is your perfect partner! He's super excited about meeting new people and can get a bit jumpy, but with a little training, he'll learn to channel that enthusiasm. After a two-week decompression period from shelter life in his amazing foster home, Taz is thriving in an apartment. He doesn't necessarily need a big home or yard- regular walks and some fun activities keep him happy. He's just starting to meet other dogs again after his shelter stay, and he's done very well when meeting other friendly dogs. Taz is ready to find his forever home! If you're looking for a playful, lovable dog to complete your family, Taz could be your perfect match. Tekao recently joined our rescue and while he settles in to foster care, we are still learning more about him. His foster family has shared that he does well with children, loves playing with his toys and walks well on the leash. What my foster says about me: Tekao is a sweetheart and he loves his people and his animal friends with his whole body, heart and soul! He is high energy but also loves a good nap. He'll do most anything for treats, and he's been friendly to kids and other dogs and has a lot of curiosity towards cats but appears to have no prey drive toward them, he just wants to play. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ADOPTION DISCLAIMER: At Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3), we aim to provide accurate information about all of our animals to the best of our abilities. Story
Sarah is a handsome 2 1/2 year old purebred American Pitbull Terrier, about 62 lbs. and pure love bug. We are forced to rehome her because she goes after our cat and, while we kept them separated our young children can't be relied on to always follow the rules. We decided for our cat's safety this was the only option. Sarah loves playing with dogs and is a marshmallow with small children. my kids love dressing her up and even though you could tell this was not her favorite activity she would be totally compliant while the kids tied a bonnet to her head. She is protective of her family, and therefore suspicious of strangers and will bark and growl when unfamiliar people approach but has never nipped or attempted to bite anyone. In fact she is the most soft mouthed dog I've ever experienced. She behaves wonderfully when left alone but would prefer to always be with her people. In short: a sweet guard dog whose reaction when the baby grabs her tail will be kisses and cuddles.

Story
Ruthie is a beautiful, cuddly lapdog whose loud, ridiculous tail wags always bring a smile. She is incredibly sweet and absolutely LOVES attention from adults- she can get a bit jealous of our toddler though, and she unfortunately struggles with resource guarding around our older dog. She may do much better with older kiddos who are good with boundaries and have the energy to keep her busy. Ruthie is a big girl (70 pounds) but doesn;t know it and loves getting into our laps for pets. She is a huge fan of playing fetch outside but doesn’t really care for walks (very low maintenance lady!). She is very food and cuddle motivated. According to the DNA testing we did, she has pit bull, chow chow, and lab in her.

Story
I adopted Ella a month ago from the Humane Rescue Alliance in DC. She is a sweet, sweet girl. Very friendly with tons of energy. She loves to play and give affection. I unfortunately do not have the space nor time I thought I would have. She would benefit from having a small yard or close proximity to a dog park. That is the only reason I need to remove her. She deserves a little more than I am able to provide with my situation. She loves treats, is ok off a leash, friendly to adults and around children, and good around other dogs. I'm not too sure about cats.

To learn more about Lila, please get in touch with henryfungchang@gmail.com. Meet your next best friend, Lila! Lila is a loving, cuddly dog that loves any and all human interaction! She loves to play, and will engage in any games you want to play! While she can be energetic, her favorite activity is just to chill and relax. She especially enjoys blankets, sofas, and beds! Her favorite spot is in the corner of the bed, leaving you plenty of room, how perfect! Lila has done very well in her foster home, being very polite, doing all her business outside, and just being a joy to have around! She is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows lots of tricks! Her manners are on point, and she has responded well to her name. In addition to her name, she also seems to know "sit", "down", "shake", and "stay". She has done very well in vehicles in the past, and seems to enjoy the ride! She has slowly warmed up to living with a cat in a foster home, so slow introductions will be necessary for her. She has done well in the past with some dogs but can be leash-reactive, so a household with dog experience, patience, and the ability to handle Lila's size and energy would be best for her.

Story
My family adopted Ava in September 2018 from the Humane Rescue Alliance. We estimate her to be around 7 years old. She is a good family dog for families with kids no younger than 12 or 13. With a good walk schedule, she is very chill for the rest of the day. I usually take her on 2-3 30-45 minute walks and she lays down for almost the entire rest of the day. She is crate trained (and she loves her crate!) and does not go on furniture unless she is invited. She is very loyal, very loving, and loves to cuddle.

Good with: Dogs, kids Not tested with: Cats House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Some, when someone is at the door Hi, I'm Ripley! I was once a victim of neglect, but now I'm looking for a loving home where I can blossom. I'm a sweet, gentle girl who needs a confident doggy friend and a kind, patient human to help me come out of my shell and show me how wonderful life can be. I may be a little scared and shy at first, but I promise I'm worth the effort to get to know. When I feel safe and confident, I love freely, craving head scratches, playing with stuffed toys, and having zoomies in the backyard. I'm curious about neighborhood cats but don't have a strong prey drive. I'm good at taking cues from other dogs, but I'm still learning human cues like shaking paws. My favorite thing about myself is how gentle and loving I ama total sweetheart! I have a medium energy level, and I'm both gentle and friendly. I can be playful, fearful, and shy. I enjoy short walks and zoomies, but I'm terrified of fireworks and car rides. Despite this, I love going on walks and being with my favorite humans. I'm still working on my training and don't know basic commands yet, but I'm housetrained and somewhat crate trained. On walks, I'm well-mannered, get along with other dogs, and handle distractions like bikes and skateboards pretty well. I bark when someone is at the door, and I need a quiet environment because I get nervous around new people. I need time to come out of my shell, but once I trust someone, I like them very much. I get along with all kids and dogs and am interested in cats, though I haven't had close contact with them. My daily routine includes morning and evening walks, and I have access to a yard, but I prefer staying indoors with the air conditioning when it's hot. I eat Fromm adult food, 1.5 cups in the morning and evening. I don't shed much and don't need grooming. I'd do well in an apartment, would be great for a first-time dog owner, and would love someone who works from home or is home often. I can't wait to find my forever home and share all my love! My foster guardian says: Ripley is gentle and loving - total sweetheart. Likes: Short walks, zoomies Dislikes: Fireworks, riding in the car My ideal home: Id prefer to have an owner who is home often, but Id be good in an apartment and for a first time dog owner. Story
Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Some Hey there I'm Gabby the bubbly mixed-breed pup with a hop in my step and a heart of gold! With my soft speckled white and tan fur and soulful yellow/brown eyes I'm quite the charmer. Despite a shoulder injury in my past I've mastered a unique hop-like gait that sets me apart. When it comes to manners I've got them down pat - no accidents in the house and I prefer to savor my meals rather than scarf them down. Now let's talk about my absolute favorite thing: morning walks! There's nothing that gets me more excited than exploring the world outside. Walks dont have to be limited in time or distance as far as my foster mom can tell: I have the same energy and enthusiasm as any other dog. I'm friendly with other dogs but I can be a bit standoffish. I prefer smaller playgroups and may get overwhelmed in crowded dog parks. Despite my injury I'm quite the active pup! I love playing with toys and you might catch me zooming around the yard with one in my mouth. I particularly love prey toys and bully sticks! I also love a good game of fetch and will always bring the toy/ball back to you. I might even surprise you with how high I can jump! I can hop up and ride in the car just fine and love going on adventures. I even recently mastered going up and down a full flight of stairs! When it comes to affection I'm all in! I absolutely adore cuddles and scratches: but I never beg for them just gladly accept them. I'll also keep you company while you work from home while I lounge on the couch. Separation anxiety? Well I might whine a bit when you leave in the crate but with a distraction like a tasty treat I'll be just fine and quiet down quickly. Oh and there's one thing I'm not too fond of: bikes. They make me bark and lunge but cars and trucks? No problem at all! I'm great at "sit" "come" and "wait", but could use some training on walking on a leash. I am overly interested in squirrels and other small animals and my gate makes it harder for me to regulate my speed so as a result I pull a little bit, but with some time and training I can be a leash walking pro! So if you're looking for a well-mannered affectionate companion who's always up for an adventure look no further than yours truly Gabby. I can't wait to hop into your heart and home! My foster guardian says: Gabby is the absolute sweetest pup and is the perfect mix of active outside but calm and affectionate inside. Despite the injury her bunny-like gate makes her the star of the show on walks and at the dog park: people think its absolutely adorable and Id have to agree. If youre looking for a sweet little mix breed look no further than Gabby! Likes: Toys, bones, scratches, sunbathing, morning walks, lounging on the couch Dislikes: Bikes, lots of dogs at once My ideal home: I am pretty flexible and would be happy in a variety of homes! Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!
