Story
Alani Alani is a Female Pit Bull Terrier mix DOB: May 2021 Adoption fee: $100.00 All I want to do is give you hugs and kisses. I enjoy playing with toys and going for leisurely walks but when that’s done, I just want to lay on my bed and get lots of belly rubs. I am a powerful girl, strong and will need someone with bully breed experience. I listen well and with the right owner I know I can be the best friend I was always meant to be. I am very vocal with other dogs. I have played with a couple of younger male dogs, but I’d really prefer to be the only dog in my home. That could change after I’ve had time to decompress and relax with my new family. I will require a physically fenced yard. I am best suited with older teenage children. I may be okay with a dog savvy cat, or no cats. I have been at the shelter for a very long time, waiting for my forever family to come meet me and fall in love.

Story
Name: Libby Breed Guess: Pit mix Age: 1 year old Gender: Female Weight: 47 pounds Shelter Temperament: Sweet & Playful Children: 10+ Cats: NO Dogs: Needs to be an only dog Adoption fee: $250 Likes: Snuggles, giving all the kisses, playing fetch, happy wiggles, and going for walks Libby has a bit of stranger danger when it comes to new people, but we don’t blame her! With the help of treats and calm petting, it doesn’t take her long to feel comfortable! She just needs to make sure you are safe! A fenced in yard is required for Libby. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
