Story
Bella is a very sweet dog. She is great with my two younger children and gets along well with my cat and older Pitt bull. So why do I need to re-home her? Since I purchased her, I have needed to go back to work full time and have become a single mother. She just isn't getting the attention she deserves and I feel horrible about that. I hope she can find a loving home with lots of room to romp and play.

Story
Jersey is a 6 year old spayed female Pit Bull/Labrador Retriever mix. We adopted Jersey from the SPCA of SW MI when she was about 1 year old. She just completed her annual veterinary checkup--up to date on all vaccinations and no health issues. She is completely housebroken. She is crate trained (just throw a treat in there and in she goes). We don't have any fence, so I typically walk her 3 times/day (7:30 AM, 5 PM, 8 PM). Neighborhood kids often ask to pet her, and Jersey is receptive. She enjoys the dog park and gets along well with other dogs. When not on a walk or at the park, she mostly lounges on her dog bed or the couch. She is not an excessive barker--she'll bark a few times when someone knocks on the door, the doorbell rings, or there is a delivery, but then she'll stop. Our family dynamics have dramatically changed and we can no longer deny my wife's allergy to her. She is a great dog and would do well if matched with an appropriate new owner/family.

Pete is a good dog. He loves to go for walks and rides. He has been on many long distance drives with me. He will sit and watch TV shows and loves to soak up the sun outside. I hate to have to give him up but my current situation does not allow me to have a pet.

Name: Diva Breed Guess: Pit/Lab Mix Age: 3 months old on 1/26/25 Gender: Female Weight: 50-70 pounds as adults Children: Puppy - will need proper socialization Cats: Puppy - will need proper socialization Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $350 Hi! We came all the way from Mississippi to find our forever homes! We love lots of snuggles and toys. We cannot get enough of toys, they are so amazing! When we're tired we collapse into a big puppy pile, now cute! We've been at the ARP since 1/19/25 and are currently located at the shelter The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Playful, Energetic, Curious yet cautious. Slightly stubborn and very smart. Gentle. Goofy. These are a few words I would use to describe Luna. Luna is a pit bull mix, we believe she’s mixed with boxer but we don’t know for sure. Her birthday is December 9, she just turned 4. We adopted her from SPCA in February 2021. We crate her when we leave the house as she seems to get a little bored or maybe anxious while we’re gone. She sleeps through the night on the couch-she has no issues being out of her crate if we’re home. Luna is very playful with friends. I think she would do best in a home with a furry buddy. Shes never met a cat face-to-face. It’s a very hard decision to rehome Luna but we just don’t have the time to commit to her needs. She is in her crate for 10 hours a day during the week and weekends we’re busy with our young kids and it’s not fair to her. She has a lot of energy and would do best with a more active family. She would play fetch for hours if you were up for it!

Story
Meet Turmeric! Turmeric is an 8-month-old sweetheart with a playful spirit and a gentle heart. He can be a bit shy at first, especially in new places, but once he feels comfortable, his silly and affectionate personality starts to shine. Turmeric loves playing with toys and spending time with his favorite people. He's still learning the ropes when it comes to walking on a leash, but with a little patience and positive reinforcement, he’s sure to get the hang of it. If you're looking for a sweet and playful companion, Turmeric could be the perfect match!   Personality: Sweet, playful, goofy, a little shy at first Leash Manners: Still learning the ropes, but eager to please Favorite Activities: Playing with toys, exploring, running around outside Training: Woking on basic commands like “sit”   Volunteer Notes: “Very excited & loved toys!” “Very sweet!!” “Shy, but so loving and sweet!”   *Just a heads up, the way dogs behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how they act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just our observations from their time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##2282300##
