Story
Born October 26th 2022, Artemis is a two year old pitbull. She loves to run free in the dog parks and plays well with other dogs. She listens extremely well! Will come when called, will sit and stay and only move when told to and will sit and wait to eat until told she can eat. Full of energy and loves attention & cuddles. Will wimper or barking when she needs to go outside and potty. Enjoys walks and loves to follow me around wherever I go. Unfortunately moving and will not be able to take this sweet loving dog. Really want her to go to a good home. Someone or a family that will take good care of her and that has time for her. She truly is a absolutely wonderful dog.

Story
This is Lucky. About 16 months old and is full of energy. Lucky was rehomed to us after a family member in his 1st home developed an allergy to him. At that home he did live with a chihuahua, who was kinda mean to him. With us, he was in a home with 4 boys and a lot of their friends and all their chaos. He matched their energy. He needs a home that can keep him busy. Unfortunately I was the primary caregiverto him, and because of a divorce, I had to move out. He is not an apartment dog unless there’s someone always home. He does not like to be alone. Loves car rides, cuddles and does need training when it comes to walking. He’s never snapped at the groomers (to people or dogs). Red Kong toys and tennis balls are his favorite. Now that our house is split, he is just not getting the attention and loving that he deserves. A place with a gated yard is what he’s used to, but if someone can take him on walks even a couple of times a day, that would help burn some of his energy.

Story
Say hello to April! April is a 1.5 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix and 59 lbs of pure energy and affection.April might take a bit of time to gain confidence around new people, but once she does she will be your best friend forever! She understands that her calling in life is to act as her human’s shadow and will go the extra mile in order to not miss out on any action happening at home. This might even include her licking your hair while you catch up on your latest Netflix binge!April is house trained. It is likely that April used to spend most of her time outdoors, so she may need a bit of guidance as to where the appropriate place to go potty is. She has caught on quickly in her foster home, no accidents! April is also crate trained. She does well in her crate at night and while home alone. Overall, she is the coziest pup who loves fireplaces, heat vents, cozy blankets, cuddling with her humans. While April prefers to see her humans throughout the day, she does well when left home alone and has not been known to vocalize or be destructive. She requires a medium level of activity and is content with a daily walk and plenty of stuffed toys to play with! April is a curious girl who would love to have a fenced yard to sniff around in but it is not required.April has had a difficult journey before coming into our rescue, so she will need time and guidance to learn how to coexist peacefully with other animals. She will benefit from structured introductions and positive reinforcement to help her feel comfortable around new furry friends. When it comes to cats in particular, April has yet to meet one! She has shown signs of a prey drive, so a meet-and-greet would be necessary if there is a cat in the household. When April is feeling playful, her energy can be very high! Her play style is all in good fun but this may overwhelm young children as she can get a bit mouthy. She would do best in a household with children 13 years and older.April is ready to meet her forever home! With patience and consistent structure she will blossom into the perfect companion that anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about April and think she might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes her family will be lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Hi! My name is Dahlia, but my foster parents call me Dolly, Dolly Dingo, or Dolly Doobers.I’m a 2-5 yo Pit Bull and I'm really really cute. I'm a bit timid when I first meet people, but warm up quickly with a gentle, controlled approach. I love to give kisses, and may or may not slobber your face, arm, leg, ear, or whatever given part of you I can reach at the time.I can't tell you what my life was like before rescue, but I'm pretty sure I've had a lot of puppies. I was picked up by Animal Control while running free, and stayed there for a little over a month until I got out. I think I've had some really basic training, because I know how to sit at food time, but beyond that I need work on a leash and some improvement on my basic manners.I'm not tall, but my foster dad says I'm "A real thickums McGee" and I'm not really aware of how solid or heavy I am, so your personal space is at a definite risk with me around, I just want to be by people! I have to be in a home with no other dogs, as I get scared and defensive when they get close.I do well in a crate for the most part, although I may whine when I feel like I'm left alone in one. Because I'm a beefcake, I would also probably do best in a home without younger children due to my size but would likely love them. Overall though, I'm a very very sweet lover girl who just wants to be your favorite companion and best buddy to whoever adopts me.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling:https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Story
Bruce is a bundle of joy with an endless supply of energy and kisses! At 70 pounds, this Pit Bull/retriever mix still believes he’s a lap dog, blissfully unaware of his size. Whether he's cuddling on the couch with his head in your lap or playing with his squeaky toys, Bruce is a happy-go-lucky pup ready to bring joy to his forever family.Bruce has adjusted well to his new foster home and loves soaking up the affection he receives. He is house-trained (only one accident since arriving) and crate-trained, where he is usually settling down after a whine or two. While he does bark when he hears noises in his apartment building, he settles easily, making him a good fit for shared walls. His change in environment may be causing him to get an upset stomach more easily now, so he's currently on a special diet for a sensitive stomach while we figure that out.Bruce loves to make new friends—that means more playtime for him! He’s been friendly with people and the dogs he’s met so far. When he's met other dogs, they all have been 30+ pounds, so his compatibility with smaller dogs is still unknown. He hasn’t been around children or cats yet, so a slow introduction would be recommended to prevent him from unintentionally knocking someone over when he's excited. He is very energetic, so he likes all the play and walks he can get! Bruce is a fun-loving pup that adores squeaky toys, tennis balls, and anything else he can play with. While lots of playtime is helpful, he will also need regular exercise and a fenced yard to manage his high-energy personality. With his affectionate nature and fun-loving spirit, Bruce would thrive with a family that can keep up with his zest for life. If you're looking for a playful, cuddly, and sweet companion, Bruce is the perfect addition to your home!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Snapshot of Rae! Size? King size (50-70 lbs.) Activity Level? I play hard and sleep hard! Noise Level? I like to alert people that something new is happening, but I quiet down quickly! Good with Dogs? I would do best as an only dog. Good with Cats? No cats please. Good with Kids? I love everyone but my energy and size are better suited with older kids. Good with Strangers? I need slow introductions. Potty Trained? I'm a pro! Crate Trained? Love my crate! About Rae: Hello - I'm Rae and I came to TCPR from a local shelter when nobody claimed me. Can you believe that no one came looking for me? Just look at my cute face!!! I know how to sit, down (lay), touch, shake, leave it, kennel and that the "uh-uh" sound means I'm doing something I probably shouldn't be. I'm working on learning how to play fetch and I love stuffies and my current favorites are bones and squeaky tennis balls. I go to my kennel for bedtime and when no one is home, and I hardly ever complain about it. I really enjoy walks and can go for multiple miles (weather permitting). I walk pretty well on leash as long as small animals like squirrels and rabbits don't cross our path, I just think they are so fun to chase! My foster home has a fenced yard and I love the freedom of running without being on a leash. I need regular exercise to burn off energy and keep me out of trouble! If I am able to burn some energy, I will gladly sleep with my head on your lap while you watch a movie. I would also do very well in an obedience class and would definitely benefit from one. I get very excited to meet new people but I don't trust their dogs and will bark to tell them to stay away. I used to share the house with a resident cat, we had met a few times but the cat didn't appreciate the energy I greeted her with and told me off with a swipe of the paw.. that doesn't deter my enthusiasm, so I may do better in a cat-free home. Because of my size and energy, I would do better in a home with older kids or adults, because my zoomies might knock over a small child. If you're looking for a buddy to sit out on the patio at your local brewery or meet ups at the dog park, we might not be a great match. However, if you want a walking buddy and can throw a ball around for me, I think we could be perfect together. Would you like to be my forever family? Rae is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age. Level 1 Obedience training is required. Twin Cities Pet Rescue has reduced Rae's Adoption Fee to $100 + applicable taxes to help her find her well deserved forever home who will continue to work with her and provide her with training to help with her anxiety and reactive behavior. MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me!. Story
Name: Cora Breeds: Pit Bull Mix Age: Adult Sex: Female Size: Large Cora is a sweet pittie girl who found herself all alone in this cold weather. She is the typical young pittie who needs lots of exercise to be happy. Luckily she absolutely loves to play and gets along famously with our other foster, Batman. She is quite the puller on leash, but is learning that not pulling makes for a better walk. She sticks around off leash and absolutely loves romping around in our fenced yard. She is a bit bull headed (show me a pittie who isn't!), but is learning "leave it" and is very treat motivated. She crates well and is doing excellent on house training (a few accidents post shelter are expected). However, while she is not aggressive, she also will not back down when challenged so needs either slow introductions or a non alpha dog in the family. Dog-savvy cats are also preferred as she does show interest in them, but really wants to play. Cats are surprisingly resistant to playing with a big slobbery dog, however. If you have a friendly dog who loves wrestling, then Cora will fit right in! She would also love a situation where she was the only dog and received all the love and attention. Cora is about 45 lbs and 2 years old Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. Story
Name: Tic-Tac-Taco Breeds: Pit Bull Mix Age: Puppy Sex: Male Size: Large when fully grown Tic-Tac-Taco is a 3 month old chubby bully pup. He was found at an evicted property, presumably left behind, and was thrilled beyond belief to see the officers that came to get him. They were his new best friends. Everyone is in fact! Tic-Tac-Taco loves people, loves other dogs, tries to play with the cats and learned quickly that was a big no thank you on their part, and just loves life. He is working on his housetraining, crates well for the workday and overnight, and is learning all the important puppy things. He is expected to be a large dog as an adult. He is a typical puppy so a forever home should prepare for all the puppy fun, socialization, training, and everything takes to make a puppy into the best dog they can be. We highly recommend training classes to set everyone up for success. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. Story
This 4-year-old Bully mix is full of love and personality! Weighing 52 pounds, Pebbles is a snuggly "pittypotamus" who adores her people, earning her title as a champion cuddler and napper.Pebbles’ past life as a breeding dog has shaped her need for patience and understanding. While she was initially cautious of her new foster home, once she settled, she really knew how to make herself comfortable. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily settling into her crate with the help of a treat. Her favorite activities include sleeping, chewing on toys, and, of course, cuddling. She’s a snoring aficionado with a quirky ability to "sing" with her humans. Her ideal home is one that respects her boundaries, values her quirks, and provides her with the love and security she deserves.Despite her love for walks, Pebbles takes a leisurely approach to exercise and enjoys short strolls at her own pace. While she’s generally calm overall, Pebbles has some leash reactivity when encountering dogs outside the home and benefits from careful introductions. Pebbles is still learning to trust new friends, so careful introductions have been key. She has been socialized with resident dogs and has shown promise, though she cannot live with cats. Pebbles thrives with dog-savvy humans and older kids, as she does resource guard high-value treats and chews. Her foster reports she’s been great with their 8-year-old child, but caution and supervision are necessary in homes with younger kids. She’s currently undergoing muzzle training for vet visits and grooming to ensure everyone’s safety. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts lazy and loving, Pebbles is ready to make your home her own.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Updated 2.13.25 Meet Glenn – A Sweet, Energetic, and Loyal Rescue Dog Glenn was found wandering the streets of Ohio with his best friend, Gary, and the two have been inseparable ever since. After their stray hold ended with no one coming to claim them, Glenn received the necessary care from the shelter, including vaccinations and neutering. When it was time to travel, Glenn and Gary made their way to their new foster home in Minnesota, where they’ve been ever since. Personality Glenn is the definition of sweetness, with endless wiggles, kisses, and a heart full of love. He arrived at his foster home with a desire to be held, petted, and adored. Glenn is very affectionate and thrives on human interaction, always seeking attention from everyone he meets, regardless of age or appearance. He’s equally gentle around children and is particularly attentive to adults, often trying to stand on his hind legs for more love. He has a special bond with his foster dad, eagerly waiting for him to come back if he leaves, and sometimes even cradling himself like a baby when resting on him. Energy and Interests This active boy loves his walks and gets excited as soon as he sees the leash come out. He’s still perfecting his leash manners, as there’s so much to explore! Glenn is particularly fond of sniffing around and tends to compete with his best bud, Gary, to sniff the best smells. He does have a bit of a prey drive and gets excited when he spots a squirrel or bunny but can be redirected with some patience. Glenn’s curiosity also extends to watching people, dogs, and children from windows without any negative reactions—just a curious whine or whimper. Training and Behavior Glenn is a quick learner and already knows to sit for his food and happily goes to his kennel at bedtime for a treat. He’s treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a delight to work with. He’s had no accidents in the house, can hold it through the night, and is crate-trained. Glenn enjoys puzzle toys like a Snuffle Mat and a peanut butter Kong, though he hasn’t shown much interest in typical dog toys yet. He’s very well-mannered and behaves wonderfully in public places like the local store, showing no fear of crowds or automatic doors. Special Bond with Gary It’s impossible to talk about Glenn without mentioning his devotion to Gary. Glenn is deeply bonded with his best friend, who is deaf. He looks out for Gary, acting as his ears, and the two share an incredibly strong, emotional connection. Whether curled up together or resting their heads on each other, they are always close by. Glenn gets anxious when they’re separated, but his loyalty to Gary never wavers. They are truly a pair that needs to stay together. Health & Care When Glenn first arrived, he was underweight and needed to gain some pounds. He’s done great with his nutrition and now looks healthier, though he’s still got some energy to burn! Glenn also seemed to get cold on walks as the temperature dropped, so he’s more than happy to wear a sweater or coat—red is his favorite color! Final Thoughts Glenn is an absolute joy to have around. He’s loving, social, and eager to please, with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet boy is looking for a family who will embrace his affectionate nature and, most importantly, accept his best friend, Gary, as part of the family too. Glenn is a remarkable dog who will bring joy and love into any home that’s lucky enough to have him—and his buddy Gary—by their side.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 24, 2025, 10:41 am
