Story
Mosley “Moe” is about 3 years old. He loves being wherever his person is! He is very loyal to his people. He is athletic and enjoys runs and walks. He is also content on the couch being lazy. He is treadmill trained, e-collar trained and walks and runs pretty well on a leash. He does have some territory aggression with is home and owners but with proper training I think he could get better. He is truly the sweetest boy! We just are a busy family with young kids and I think he would do better in a home without kids. Let me know if you would like to meet him!

Story
Meet Rosie, a super sweet girl with a heart as big as Texas! Rosie had a bit of an adventurous stint as a stray, but now she's all set to find her perfect forever home.Rosie is a furry socialite who gets along wonderfully with her fellow doggie pals. However, she does have one little quirk—cats and Rosie aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Those frisky felines tend to trigger her playful chase instincts! When it comes to humans, Rosie is a total cuddlebug. She's convinced she's a lap dog and won't hesitate to hop right up for some quality snuggle time. But here's the fun part: Rosie's got a spirited teenage attitude. When she's told "no" or caught doing something she shouldn't, she's not one to back down quietly—she'll talk back with all the sass!If you're ready to bring a sweet and silly addition to your family, Rosie is more than prepared for her forever home. And yes, she's absolutely transportable, so don't let the Texas distance discourage you, transport only costs $230. Apply today and let the fun begin! Online Application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Story
Update 11.8.24  Meet Zeke, the Charismatic Country Boy! Are you ready to fall head over paws in love with a dog who will capture your heart with his affectionate nature, playful antics, and rugged charm? Look no further than Zeke, the lovable Boxer/Mastiff cross who's been stealing hearts in his foster home for the past month. This gentle giant loves people, and people love him right back! Zeke is a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction, whether it's cuddling up on the couch for movie nights or greeting new friends with a wagging tail. His friendly demeanor makes him a perfect companion for families, singles, and seniors alike. Zeke is a natural-born cuddlebug who adores snuggling up with his humans, but he's also happy to be an only dog, enjoying all the attention and affection to himself. He's lived harmoniously with another dog in his foster home, but we recommend a slow introduction to ensure a peaceful coexistence (don't worry, our rescue team will guide you through the process!). This country boy loves the great outdoors, where he can explore open fields, sniff out hidden critters, and enjoy long walks (3-4 miles a day, no problem!). His leash manners are a work in progress, but with treats and positive reinforcement, he's learning to walk nicely by your side. A word of caution: Zeke can be reactive to unknown dogs, so patience, consistency, and reward-based training will help him become a pro. Zeke is a clever boy who's crate-trained and prefers to sleep in his cozy crate at night. He's vocal about his needs, so you'll always know when he's ready for food, playtime, or a potty break. This foodie loves treats, especially bones stuffed with peanut butter, bananas, and frozen carrots. To prevent gobbling, he uses a slow feeder or puzzle feeder, which keeps him engaged and satisfied. One of Zeke's quirks is his sensitivity to foot touching or unexpected contact. However, when he initiates affection, he's happy to be petted and adored. He's also a strong boy who benefits from an Easy Walk harness, which helps him walk nicely without pulling. Zeke is currently working on his fitness goals, and with smaller meals and more exercise, he's on the path to a healthier, happier him. If you're ready to provide a loving home, plenty of exercise, and a gentle touch, Zeke will reward you with a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and snuggles. Are you ready to bring Zeke into your life? Contact Minnesota Boxer Rescue to learn more about this charming companion and how you can make him a part of your family!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2024, 8:35 am

Story
Update 9.16.24 Dolly the Boxer! Dolly is the perfect little buddy for people who love dogs and want that wiggle butt greeting   you when you come home, but aren’t down for the challenge of raising a puppy or of training   a younger dog. Bonus: She lets you sleep-in in the morning!   Dolly is believed to have been a former “mill mama”/breeder and has had a difficult life but you   couldn’t tell it from her personality. One of the most affectionate and sweet dogs/boxers I’ve   ever cared for, Dolly is content to lay on the couch with you or will follow you around and help   you with whatever projects you’re working on. She loves attention and being petted   and talked to, telling her what a good girl she is. Despite what is in her past, she still has the basic   Boxer instincts of sweetness, sensitivity, loving people, and wanting to please you.   Dolly is healthy, doesn’t appear to have any allergies, is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.   Dolly will reluctantly go in her kennel but seems fine once she’s in it. I’ve left her out alone for short periods and she has done just fine. She happily sleeps in her own bed at night in your   room but would also sleep on the bed with you if you’d let her! She is potty trained but I’m training her to signal us with a jingle bell as well. She loves food and treats (is motivated to   learn with treats) and will definitely watch you eat but she’s well-mannered and I haven’t found   her to be food protective at all (I’ve had to stick my hand in her mouth to see what she found   on the floor and she didn’t resist). She also lets me pick her up and lets me clip her nails!   After being a mill dog - and who knows what else she’s been through - she is dog reactive, so   she would need to be the only dog in the home and she is also very interested in the local   rabbit population so a fenced in yard would be ideal. She is all of the best parts of a dog and a boxer and will make a snuggly (and wiggly) addition to   your family!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 13, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
New to rescue 9.2.24 Thor is chill dude that just goes with the flow.  He enjoys going on walks and would prefer a fenced in yard to have more time to run and play.  He generally looks when his name is called and knows the commands sit and come.  Thor needs time to warm up to men and is not fond of cats.  He is food motivated and turns into a bit of a cartoon character trying to race to my bowl  on the hard floor.... I'm going sooo fast in my head but my feet can't always get traction so I'm basically running in place. Ha! You know me, I just love my food! In typical boxer fashion, I would like a fenced yard to run around and enjoy rolling in the grass. If I'm on a tie out, I'll do my business and then turn into a statue. I love to greet new people and would make a great pet for a family with kids or would be content chilling with a retired family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2024, 8:35 am

Story
Say hello to April! April is a 1.5 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix and 59 lbs of pure energy and affection.April might take a bit of time to gain confidence around new people, but once she does she will be your best friend forever! She understands that her calling in life is to act as her human’s shadow and will go the extra mile in order to not miss out on any action happening at home. This might even include her licking your hair while you catch up on your latest Netflix binge!April is house trained. It is likely that April used to spend most of her time outdoors, so she may need a bit of guidance as to where the appropriate place to go potty is. She has caught on quickly in her foster home, no accidents! April is also crate trained. She does well in her crate at night and while home alone. While April prefers to see her humans throughout the day, she does well when left home alone and has not been known to vocalize or be destructive. She requires a medium level of activity and is content with a daily walk and plenty of stuffed toys to play with! April is a curious girl who would love to have a fenced yard to sniff around in but it is not required.April has enjoyed meeting and playing with dogs in her foster home and does very well. She prefers to have a confident dog around to help teach her how to be the best pup! Ideally, April would find a forever home that has a built-in canine companion but it is not required. When it comes to cats, April has yet to meet one! She has shown signs of a prey drive so a meet-and-greet would be necessary if there is a cat in the household. When April is feeling playful, her energy can be very high! Her play style is all in good fun but this may overwhelm young children as she can get a bit mouthy. She would do best in a household with children 13 years and older.April is ready to meet her forever home! With patience and consistent structure she will blossom into the perfect companion that anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about April and think she might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes her family will be lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Montana is a handsome 1-year-old 55lb Dogo Argentino looking for his forever home! This energetic pup is short-coated and white. He is fully house and crate trained and would do best either as an only dog or, an adopter who is committed to doing slow introductions over the course of a few weeks. HIs excitement gets the best of him! At this time, Montana is not suited for young children under 14 due to his energy levels.Montana's foster family describes him as incredibly sweet and affectionate, with a penchant for exploring outdoors and chewing on bones. However, he thrives best in calmer environments and benefits from structured routines and regular exercise, needing at least an hour of activity each day. While he's adjusting to indoor living, Montana is still learning to manage his energy levels and would do best with someone experienced in bully breeds who can continue his training. He's neutered and in good health, with no known medical needs.Montana is a great working companion, and would thrive with a family that enjoys working with working breeds and power breeds. If you're ready to welcome Montana into your home and help him become the best version of himself, please reach out to learn more about this loving pup.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Story
Hi! My name is Dahlia, but my foster parents call me Dolly, Dolly Dingo, or Dolly Doobers.I’m a 2-5 yo Pit Bull and I'm really really cute. I'm a bit timid when I first meet people, but warm up quickly with a gentle, controlled approach. I love to give kisses, and may or may not slobber your face, arm, leg, ear, or whatever given part of you I can reach at the time.I can't tell you what my life was like before rescue, but I'm pretty sure I've had a lot of puppies. I was picked up by Animal Control while running free, and stayed there for a little over a month until I got out. I think I've had some really basic training, because I know how to sit at food time, but beyond that I need work on a leash and some improvement on my basic manners.I'm not tall, but my foster dad says I'm "A real thickums McGee" and I'm not really aware of how solid or heavy I am, so your personal space is at a definite risk with me around, I just want to be by people! I have to be in a home with no other dogs, as I get scared and defensive when they get close.I do well in a crate for the most part, although I may whine when I feel like I'm left alone in one. Because I'm a beefcake, I would also probably do best in a home without younger children due to my size but would likely love them. Overall though, I'm a very very sweet lover girl who just wants to be your favorite companion and best buddy to whoever adopts me.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling:https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration).
