Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m a 6-month-old mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home! I’m the goodest boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I’ve been polite around cats and can happily share a home with them. I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a quieter home without kids, as loud noises make me anxious. I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and have a funny habit of pulling all of them out of my toy bin and bringing them to my spot on the couch—my foster mom says it’s the cutest thing ever! Meet Avery! Avery traveled with her siblings from North Carolina after the hurricane. She was born in late August and we believe she is a Mountain Cur/Boxer mix. Avery is full of puppy energy and loves to give puppy kisses. Avery loves her food but isn't possessive. She is learning to go outside to do her business and is using the doggy door. Going in her kennel can be hard but will settle down after a little bit of whining. She is sleeping almost through the night as well. She is starting to explore more and gaining her confidence. Avery got along with other dogs at her first foster home. Currently, there are cats but they don't like puppies. Avery checks them out and is learning to give them space. Avery loves kids and is trying to figure out that they are not puppies. She loves toys and is constantly finding things to play with. She loves interactive/brain toys. Hi! I’m Jefferson! I am believed to be about 2.5yrs old (5/2022) and possibly a boxer mix. I was found running around in Champlin with no care in the world. I even ran across Highway 169 to avoid getting caught. I had a few NDLB volunteers as well as a couple others on a wild goose chase for a few hours between starting in Osseo area and ending in Champlin. My foster was the one who finally caught me. I was super skinny, and both my front feet had torn paw pads. I immediately knew I was safe with them and started taking treats out of their hands. Culver’s chicken was the best! After a legal seven-day stray hold (my foster momma posted me all over to try and find my family, but no one came forward), I was welcomed into NDLB. I still need to gain some much-needed weight, but my paw pads have healed and it doesn’t hurt to walk anymore. I am good with all dogs. I enjoy their company versus trying to play really. I would need another dog in my forever home as I don't like to be alone. I am good in my kennel without making much sound. I do prefer to have a light on if the kennel is in a dark spot, however. But I cuddle up with my bed and pillows and snooze away. I walk great on a leash with minimal pulling; and I ride great in the car (back seat or the back part of an SUV preferred so I can lay down.) I haven’t met a cat, so not sure how I would be. But my momma thinks I’ll be fine with them as I had no prey drive for the rabbit that ran all over the yard just before I was caught. I do have what is called Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome (or SARDS). What does that mean? I can see most right now, but I do bump into walls/doors/objects as if they weren't there to begin with. I will go blind at some point, unfortunately, we do not know when that some point is. Is it tomorrow? Is it next month? Or is it three years down the road? It's unknown but usually when it happens, it will be quick. Also with it, we don't know if I will loose all sight or if I will still see some. Because of my failing eye sight, I am more cautious with meeting people - especially if standing over me. Although I am good with kids, momma thinks I'll be best with older kids due to my poor eyesight. Will you please be my forever and love on me? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yukon (Yuki) was dumped at a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is deaf, but that does not slow him down. Best fit home would have a fenced in yard to keep him safe and a companion dog. He is good with other dogs, kids, and cats (dog savvy ones because he likes to chase to play and lick them). All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Yuki can be shy at first but don't let that fool you, he quickly warms up and is the best boy. He is a smart boy who learned signs and schedules fast. He loves to run and play with dogs (and cats but he doesn't understand his size to theirs). He loves everyone he meets and thinks all dogs are his friends. He is working on leash skills, but he doesn't quite understand it yet. Hi I’m Anne and I'm 4 years old! My family says I am the sweetest girl :) My favorite thing is to curl up in a cozy spot (preferably somebody’s bed) and take a nap. I also like to play with my toys, but I have to be careful because I have a heart condition and if I play too hard or get too excited, it causes me to have seizure-like episodes. I’m super sweet and gentle. I do well in and out of my crate and have only had a few accidents. I love meeting new people, but I’m not sure how I feel about other dogs. I get overly excited when I see them and sometimes I bark, but I have not met any since being with my new foster family. I also love riding in the car! I like staring out the window, and then when I am bored of that, I like to curl up in the back seat and take a nap. I know my basic commands, but my family says I’m stubborn because I don’t always like to listen. They also say I’m being dramatic when I give them my pouty eyes. I do okay on walks, but I need to use a harness since I do like to wander and explore and of course if I see a squirrel, rabbit, or another dog, I want to get a closer look! I would do best with someone who likes to lay around with me and understands my physical limitations. Due to my heart condition, it is hard to predict exactly how much time I have left, but I hope to find someone who is willing to love me and help me live my best life anyway!
