Got him in 2019 from a breeder. His favorite thing to do is cuddle and lay next to his owner. He will be turning 5 this year in November. He likes to run and be chased but knows when to rest and when it is time for bed. Does currently have a healing dewclaw that was broken from playing a couple months ago almost fully healed, does not require maintenance. Is athletic he can and will run and jump but would most of the time prefers to chill and snuggle. Not afraid of car rides. Sadly cannot continue to keep him because I will be going off to college.

Story
DOB: 12/24/19                              Weight: 75 Lbs Adoption Fee: $175 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Indy is 75 pounds of cuteness and cuddles. He loves cuddling next you on a couch or bed. He does good on walks especially when walking trails away from cars and other dogs.  Not a fan of loud noises like fireworks or close thunder/lightning. CBD oil and thunder jackets help but only when he is leaning against you. Has not been around any cats or small children. He does good with teenagers and adults, but it takes time to feel safe around them. Ice cubes are his favorite, and he knows the sound of the ice machine. Knows when it is bedtime and just heads to sleep in his bed with his blanket. Likes to be tucked in his blanket at night. He knows the basic commands and knows to sit to wait for his food dish to be put down. Only toy he hasn’t destroyed in a few minutes is a size 5 soccer ball (slightly deflated). He does love to play fetch with a tennis ball and chase after the soccer ball.  Plays great with puppies and is gentle with them. Food can never be around because he resource guards his food from other dogs, so we feel he should be an only dog in his family because of this. He takes treats very gently.   Indy has been neutered, wormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested and vaccinated. If you are interested in meeting/adopting him just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! URGENT!! Bronx needs a new home ASAP! This cutie patootie is Bronx! One thing you need to know about Bronx is that he is a hap hap happy boy! He finds joy in cheese treats, silly voices, smiling, car rides, pup cups with whipped cream, rolling in the grass, stretching out like a frog, and playing with stuffies. This guy is not high maintenance, we promise! Most of all, Bronx is happy being with his people and making them laugh. He is great with kids and shows them how much he appreciates their attention by giving them the sweetest kisses. If you're feeling not so happy, Bronx will be there to help you through the rough patches by listening to you and putting his excellent snuggle skills to work. He's a very good boy in the home, of course -- Bronx is housetrained and stays out of mischief when you're gone. A perfect gentleman, for sure! Bronx is good on leash, but a fenced yard would be fabulous. Bronx needs to be the only pup in his new home; it cuts down on competition for car rides and pup cups. Bronx would love to meet you! Just call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7287. Bronx is already neutered and is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He's in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection

Story
Hi there, I’m Dexter! I’m smart and affectionate and just a bit lazy, all wrapped up into one fantastic companion. I’m silly and goofy and such a nice friend, but I can be shy and unsure sometimes, too. I’ve just had a life full of instability and change, that’s all, so it takes me a little extra time to learn to relax and to know that you’re my people. Once we bond, you’ll find me to be such a lovely dog. I’m the sort of friend who will stay with you in your heart forever. I’m a handsome, ~60-pound sweetheart, with stunning, gentle eyes that will make you melt, beautiful markings, and an unassuming, charming personality. I’m already fully housebroken too! I found myself all alone as a stray with no one to turn to when Foster Mom stepped into my life. She was just what I needed at just the right time. She has been teaching me manners and all about how great life can be as part of a family, and I have been busy soaking up every ounce of love and attention that she shares with me. She says I’m ready now to start the next chapter of my life. I’m ready to be adopted! I hope you’re the one who will welcome me into your family! I’ve come so far during my time in foster, making Foster Mom beam with pride. Everything was so new and strange to me, but I settled right in with my new routine, and I’m very well behaved. My perfect day consists of lounging on the couch or bed, playing with my favorite stuffie toys, going for a short walk, and curling up next to you as you tell me what a good boy I am. I’m a sensitive soul, so please don’t be harsh with me. If you stay patient and calm with me, praising and encouraging me when I do the right thing, it will help me learn what you expect from me. I am one smart cookie and eager to please. Training me is easy and fun, aided by my love of delicious treats, of course. I don’t need a ton of exercise to keep me happy, but I do enjoy a daily walk. I’ve worked really hard on my leash skills during my time in foster, and I typically walk very well on my leash these days. Sometimes people or other dogs startle me though. Foster Dad helps me keep my distance from others, which works great. I prefer walking in familiar, low traffic areas, where I know what to expect. I am picky with my dog friends, so slow introductions help me to be more at ease. I currently live with two older female dogs in my foster home and we get along just fine. If you have another dog, I will need to meet them before we go home together, to make sure we’re a good match for each other. I need a home without cats, please, because I like to chase them. And I will be happiest in a home with all adults or older kids. The younger kiddos make me nervous. I’m looking for a quiet and calm home without a lot of commotion, and with kind, chill people who like the fact that I enjoy being a couch potato or a big lap dog most days. All I’ve ever wanted is to live a safe and peaceful life with people I love. It really is as simple as that for me. Living in my foster home, I’ve learned that life is so much sweeter when you get to share it with someone special. I want to share mine with you. Love, Dexter. Would you like to get together to make sure I'm your forever pup? Then go ahead and call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 and ask about me, Dexter! My foster home is in the Kansas City metro, but my friends will transport me to my forever home! What a deal! #thepetconnection

Peaches is still young, around 9 months old, and weighs about 50 pounds which is probably close to her full grown size.   Make sure you look at all of her pics, she’s absolutely adorable!     Approximate Birthdate:  April 2023 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Story
This beautiful brindle girl is looking for someone to follow around and snuggle with--couch or bed, your pick! Radley is 7.5 years old and only 45 pounds. Her DNA test says she's 25% pit bull terrier, 20% boxer, and 55% all kinds of other sweet things mixed in. Whatever breed Radley is, we know she's smart. She is housetrained, crate trained, and when you tell her "go to bed," she will get in her dog bed right next to yours and sleep the night through. Radley also knows that when it's popcorn time for the family, she'll be getting some, too! Once Radley knows you, she will happily greet you at the door with a wag and a wiggle, ready to tell you all about her day. What's does Radley want in a home, you ask? Since she might need a minute to warm up to new people, someone who won't rush getting to know her is important. Radley has lived with a doggo sibling and done great, but definitely prefers the bigger canines over the smaller ones. And she's looking for a home with kids old enough to understand that Radley doesn't like to share her food or bones (they aren't very tasty anyway, really). Radley's not a complicated canine. Love, attention, affection. Give The Pet Connection a call or text us at 913-671-7387 if you'd like more information about getting to know Radley. #thepetconnection #adoptradley
