Ray is perfectly imperfect, he exudes warmth and happiness like rays of sunshine! Ray was born blind and while the vet believes he does see blobs he functions like a baby with no sight but those ears help guide him! He is about 14 weeks old, 12lbs, a pittie, maybe cattle dog mix, we aren't sure but what it is is C-U-T-E! Ray, his two siblings and mom were found as strays a few weeks back and landed in a rural shelter, it didn’t take the shelter staff long to realize Ray was special. He quickly became a favorite and shelter leadership were desperate to find him a better place as a shelter is no place for any puppy let alone a blind one. Ray needs a foster who can take the time to show him the ropes. He is doing well where he currently is but they have their hands full with many other special needs dogs and Ray needs more 1:1 time to really thrive and become the very best boy. Hazel was drop to me during the pandemic because the owner needed temporary help while moving out. The owner never came back and I decided to keep her. Hazel is a very sweet and protective dog. The issue is that she is extremely dominant to other dogs. She bullied constantly my pug at the beginning but now they get along . All other dogs she sees on the street are a problem for her. She becomes aggressive and will attack. She has nipped already two dogs in my apartment community. The last incident was to the HOA presidents Chihuahua. I love Hazel and she’s very happy for weeks at a time but changes as soon as she sees other dogs. I would not think of giving her away but I accept that I’ve been incapable to help her to overcome her aggressive behavior. Sometimes love isn’t enough. She would be fine in a home with no other small animals. She may be ok with bigger dogs. A firm but not cruel or abusive owner a must. I hope there’s somebody out there willing to enjoy my precious Hazel.

They are incredibly sweet and loving. They respond to sit commands, are house trained using a doggie door, and are kennel trained when people are out of the house. Through observations, we don’t think they should be in a house with other animals or small children, due to their high-energy nature. They deserve all the love and a safe comfortable life.
