Hello, I'm Buttercup, a young, sweet, and friendly Labrador Staffy girl. I'm as gentle as a spring breeze and as brave as I could be during my stay at the scary shelter. I'm smart too! I've figured out all the tricks the shelter staff taught me. Playful and energetic, I love a good game of fetch or tug-of-war and happy to meet the other dogs who were in here with me. I was so happy to play with them that I almost wagged my tail off !!! . But I'm not all about fun and games. I'm cuddly and love nothing more than snuggling up after a long day. I'm loyal to a fault and will always be by your side, through thick and thin. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love to your life. A19873 Luna is a brown and white, 9-year-old, 60-pound, spayed female, Labrador Pitbull mix. She was surrendered by her owner for not getting along with other dogs. Luna has been in foster care with a volunteer and we a great update on her behavior. Her foster mom says the following about Luna: Luna is absolutely a joy to handle and play with. Although she is technically a senior dog, she is full of energy and loves her walks/ adventures, errands to the garden center, or a simple car ride through the drive-thru. She loves her car rides and will gladly join you wherever you go. She settles down easily once home and is a very quiet girl (rarely if ever barks when indoors). She loves meeting new people, big or small. She is quite the loving girl. She has no food aggression (small or big hands are welcome in her food bowl) She is very easy to give medication or supplements (currently taking joint supplements), no fuss at all. She is fully potty trained and will whine when she is ready to be let out. She is not fond of bath time or nail trimmings but we're working on it. She is very easy to leash and walk. She loves long albeit slow walks, enjoys people watching, and sniffing everything. In terms of other dog/ animal reactivity: She does whine when she sees or hears a dog, slightly pulling towards them. At this time we're working on her staying fully calm. On the other hand, we have gone on walks with neighbors with dogs (you'll see a picture of a small neighbor dog), as long as she's on a walk and her energy is mostly drained she can be very calm, so this is a big step in the right direction to keeping her calm around other dogs.

A23080 Darcy is a black with white colored, approximately 6-year-old, 37- pound, spayed female, Pitbull. She entered the shelter as a stray on 10-22-2024 and was spayed and had a dental cleaning by our medical staff. Darcy is a friendly, easy to handle girl here in the shelter. Our staff says she is a sweet girl that loves affection and being loved on. She was easy to leash, had a soft pull in excitement to be out of the kennel and exploring, but very easy to walk. She loves people and is treat motivated, and knows how to 'sit' on command. She has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. Darcy will be a loving, loyal companion in her new forever home. Darcy is available for field trips and foster to adopt for up to 30 days.

A24194 Sheba is a tan and black colored, approximately 5-year-old, 65-pound, spayed female, Pitbull. She entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 12-09-2024 due to the fact they were moving and couldn’t bring dogs. She came in with Kreed. Sheba is a friendly, eager, easy to handle girl here in the shelter. Our staff says she is really friendly and happy to see you approach her kennel, giving you an excited tail wag. She was easy to leash and well behaved during our walks. She has had some training and will “sit” upon command. She has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. The previous owner says she is house broken, used a doggy door and she has lived with other dogs, and cats, but not children. Sheba will be a loving, loyal family member in her new forever home. Sheba has chronic skin allergies that seem to be worse here at the shelter causing her to become quite itchy. She requires weekly baths and has been on steroids for her condition. She may need further care that is beyond that of which the shelter can provide. Please consider saving Miss Sheba, so she can get her allergies better controlled with regular primary veterinary care.

A24498 Buddy is a brown and white colored, approximately 10-year-old, 56-pound, neutered male, Pitbull mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 12-23-2024 due to the fact he has started having accidents in the home. Buddy is a friendly, easy to handle, senior boy here at the shelter. Our staff describes him as sweet and lovable. Saying he would be best in a single dog home due to his age, but he will make the new owner happy. He loves people and affection and sat calmly while we trimmed his nails. He is energetic and ready to go for walks sometimes and other times he just stands and waits for you to put on the leash. He was easy to leash and was well behaved during our walks. He will need some training and had no interest listening to commands. He has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. Buddy will be a loving family member in his new forever home.

Meet Lizard, a 3-year-old, 54-pound, neutered male Pitbull Terrier with a heart full of love! Lizard entered the shelter as a stray and has since been neutered by our medical team. Now, he's ready to find his forever family. Lizard is a total sweetheart—his favorite thing is cuddling and getting love from his people. He’s easy to leash and walks with minimal pulling. He knows "sit" but is still learning some other commands. Lizard is calm around other dogs and doesn’t get upset walking by them, although a meet-and-greet is recommended if you have another dog at home. Lizard was recently diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia and lumbar spinal spondylosis. He has been placed on medication and joint supplements to ease his discomfort. He walks gingerly and at some point will develop arthritis and increased stiffness of the joints. He continues to be a happy loving dog regardless. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with kisses and snuggles, Lizard is your guy!
