Story
For Precious, age ain’t nothin’ but a number! At eight years old and fifty pounds, Precious is the Betty White of canines: sassy, spunky, and street-smart. She loves treats, toys, and adventure. Precious came in with her friend, Coco (also available for adoption) and another dog when her family could no longer take care of them. Precious is a proud member of the doggy playgroup and loves car rides and lower back scratches. We think she would do well in almost any home. Precious has a lot of living to do, and she knows that her best years are yet to come. She hopes she can share them with you!

Story
Larry is our resident, 70 pound, sweet boy who’s been with us over a year. He was picked up as a stray and, at first, he was rambunctious and not sure what leashes were for, but has since relaxed after getting settled and going through training with our volunteers. He still gets quite excited when he sees other dogs, but it’s just because he wants to make friends. Despite the development of food sensitivities and an antibiotic resistant ear infection he’s a happy and playful guy. He loves to go for walks and even runs. And in the quiet moments he practices his technique for sit and shake so that when he meets his forever family, he’s well prepared to greet.

Story
Tanner is a true outdoorsman. He walks, runs, hikes, and even swims any and all hours. It’s a good thing he likes the water too because he’s been working on his baby seal certification and he’s so close to getting it! Tanner dreams of one day running a triathlon, but needs a little extra training so he doesn’t get overzealous and disrupt the competition. With the proper direction, Tanner is ready to take on anything. He’ll be your motivating force this coming winter to get out and move and meet those New Year’s Resolution fitness goals.

Story
Mocha is ten years old and is technically a senior, but don’t tell her that. Behind that sugar face beats the heart of a dog half her age. She loves adventures, treats, learning new tricks, and going for walks, but she also appreciates a soft bed, a cuddle, and a stuffed Kong. She’s dog selective and would do best in a home without cats. She came to the shelter when her family could no longer take care of her. Those who know her, love her, but at first glance, she may appear aloof. Don’t fall for it! Once she gets to know you, she’s your best friend and won’t let you out of her sight. Mocha has been a canine ambassador for the CNYSPCA and has visited a high school classroom. She did great - she loved the kids, and they loved her!She came to the shelter in May, and seems resigned to her lot in life. But there’s hope in her heart that her “furever” family is out there. Puppies are great, but there’s something very special about earning the trust and affection of a senior dog. Mocha is in the twilight of her life, but the love she has to give is endless. Give Mocha a chance. You‘ll be happy you did.

Story
Tasia is a beautiful name that means `resurrection,` and that`s the perfect name for this special girl. Sweet Miss Tasia is one of the dogs that was rescued from a cruelty situation. We think she`s about six years old. When she first came to the shelter, she was severely emaciated and in very bad shape. She has since gained some much-needed weight and received a whole lotta love to bring her back to health. In general, she`s a very happy girl that has a tail that won`t quit! She`s almost always wiggling and just loves getting pets and cuddles. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but if you give her a little time to feel comfortable, her personality will shine through! She`s been a shelter ambassador and did great. She came to the shelter with another dog, but she would prefer to be the only - and we think she deserves it. This sweet soul would make a lovely companion to a special family. If you believe in second chances, stop by the shelter and meet Tasia.

Story
Sparkle is a young lady just coming out of her puppyhood. She’s got the zeal to go with her age, putting her whole snout into everything she does. Sometimes that results in some cute little grunts and other times it makes beautiful artwork. In her down time, she’s a big fan of cuddling and exploring parks in the area to take in all the fantastic scents. She doesn’t mind getting muddy in the name of fun and accepts the bath that follows with a grace beyond her youth. And if you take Sparkle home, she may even show you her best impression of a pig. Little grunts included.
