Story
Turbeau aka Beau we adopted from Forsyth Human Society in March of 2021. He has come out of his shell and worked on his manners of learning to live inside. He is an energetic and curious boy who loves to play fetch and then is also content to cuddle. He lives with a doggy sister and several cat siblings- gets along with them all. He is protective of food and toys which we have worked on. He enjoys walks and has done well learning to walk with a gentle leader. He is reactive to other dogs when on walks, especially littler dogs. Beau has lots of separation anxiety and general anxiety with new or unknown situations which we have found medication to work best making him more comfortable. He is crate and house trained. He thinks of his crate as his safe place. He would love to be in a home where he is the only dog or a larger female dog. He very much would love to be the center of attention. He also would need a home with no young children.

Story
Gypsy is a vibrant, loving girl who you would be lucky to have. We want to find a home where she will be spoiled, snuggled, and loved as much as she deserves. We have had her since she was a puppy and we are rehoming due to personal reasons. Even though we are sad to make this decision, we know it would be best for our family as well as Gypsy. She is the biggest snuggle bug and will cuddle with you for hours. She will play but then be ready to curl up and sleep with you in no time. Bones are great for her because she loves to chew. She has not been appropriately socialized so it would be best if she went with a family that is small and willing to work with her. She is scared of strangers. If you would like to know more or have any questions, please reach out.

Story
This dog was found as a stray in a new neighbor's yard. They were unable to keep her, and I offered to help see if she had an owner. We scanned for a microchip; she does not have one. No one has claimed her on all the sites that we had her listed on. She has been friendly with my family and friends. She started off very timid with men but opened up once around them more. Unknown if she has had any vaccines. She looks like she has had a litter before. She is getting better with a kennel, but she has been living in it since we have found her. She is also getting better on a leash and collar. I am unable to keep her due to having 4 other pets. She is NOT cat friendly. Unknown is dog friendly. I haven't done dog intros with her and my dogs. She has only been around kids 13+, so preferred to be around older kids. Unknown how old she is, but we think she is at least over 1 year old. I have tried to get her to a rescue vs the pound, but I'm unable to keep her any longer.

Story
Meet coco bean! She’s a pit mix (not really 100% what the other breed is). She is good around other pets and children. Unfortunately due to me expecting twins in July on top of moving next month I can no longer provide her with the lifestyle she’s been accustomed to/deserves. She will come with her big pink cage, food/water bowls, tick and flea monthly treatments, blankets/toys/jackets, any left over food or treats and her extra collars and leash.

Story
Meet Clara Bell, a 3-year-old sweetheart who weighs 52 lbs and is ready to bring joy to a loving home! Clara Bell is an absolute angel and is such a joy to be around. She hops into the car like a champ, though sometimes it takes a little longer to coax her in, possibly due to a little anxiety. Once in the car, she rides well, even if she prefers to be up front, where she calmly rests her head on the center console and relaxes. Clara Bell thinks she’s a lap dog! She loves being close to her people and will happily curl up beside you or even try to climb into your lap for cuddles. She is a true lover of people and thrives on affection, always eager to shower you with kisses. Most of her day is spent happily receiving pets and giving out love in return. She’s a gentle and sweet girl who just wants to be close to her family. She knows "sit," though she may only respond when she feels like it. Clara Bell is still learning some basic commands but is eager to please when she’s in the mood! While she does sometimes pull and bark at other dogs walking by, she is otherwise good on the leash and stays right beside you. She enjoys occasional sniffing, but she’s generally well-behaved during walks. When it comes to food and toys, Clara Bell isn’t particularly motivated by treats or toys—she’d much rather receive some loving attention. She isn’t too interested in the treats offered, showing that her preference is simply being adored and pampered. Clara Bell is a calm and affectionate dog who makes an amazing companion for someone who loves cuddles and giving attention. She is a true gem, and if you’re looking for a loving and sweet dog, Clara Bell could be the perfect fit for your family! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
