Neika is a 2 year old sweetheart who was surrendered to Pet Search. She weighs a approximately 45 pounds. She is house broken, and can already ring a bell when she wants to go outside. She is very energetic, loves to play and snuggle and is learning to walk on a leash. After being adopted, she came back to us-she became the alpha/protector at her new home, which resulted in being aggressive with some other dogs. She needs an alpha owner willing to work with her on impulse control and lease control. (Pet Search will recommend a trainer who has been working with her.) we recommend a fenced yard, lots of play time , and a home with no young children because of her energy level. Pittie (3/23/19) has had so many tragedies in her life...She was a stray 9 month old puppy when she came to pet Search and was adopted a few months later by Tami and Bart. Two weeks after her adoption, Tami suddenly passed away. Pittie became Bart's center of his world as they both grieved the loss of Tami. Bart suddenly passed away in June and Pittie is grieving once again. She is back with Pet Search and we have given her some time to adjust to her loss. Pittie was raised with a cat and she was originally in a foster home with other dogs, but we are slowing working with her to check her dog selectiveness as she was an only dog for almost 4 years. Pittie has had so many losses in her short life- we are hoping to find another person or family that will provide stability and let her become the love of their life. Buddy (3/14/24) was rescued from a neglectful situation by a firefighter in Allegheny County and brought to Pet Search by Humane Police Officers. Since his rescue, Buddy has had an opportunity to be nursed back to health, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. This sweet gentle boy wants so much love and is receiving all the care, love and attention in his foster home! Buddy, a terrier mix, is living in a foster home with other dogs, cats and children. He is crate trained, almost housebroken, and learning new commands everyday. An absolute gem of a puppy, Buddy started out in a "less than perfect situation, but is enjoying his foster home while he waits for his new forever family. Sugar is a 4 month old female terrier mix who arrived at Pet Search as an owner surrender from Fayette county. We weren't told much about Sugar... only that the owner could not afford her. However, our volunteers and fosters discovered very quickly that Sugar does have hearing loss, which can be common with white terriers. Sugar is housebroken, crate trained, and excellent with other dogs. She is now fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She is also good with cats.
