Story
Bailey was rescued from a litter of 4 puppies. His litter mates have found their forever home and he is the last pup standing. Bailey was born Oct 8, 2022. He is house broken and even knows how to use a doggie door! He has had some formal training with a professional trainer and knows basic commands like sit, down, place/stay (he still needs work with this though). He is an amazing pup but will require someone experienced with pitbulls. Bailey requires a lot of stimulation to stay out of trouble. He loves to go on daily walks and play fetch. Bailey also loves treats which is great to use for training and keeping him engaged. He will require a lot of attention and exposure to different people and environments. He is good with kids and other small dogs but often shows aggression towards larger dog breeds. If you're looking for a four legged companion that will give his all for you, Bailey is your boy!

Story
Finn is available to meet qualified applicants BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.Please email contact@animalaidsociety.org for more information.Finian was found wandering the streets of Hampton on March 16th, his back leg injured and his head, face, eyes, and mouth burned with acid. This poor boy was left to fend for himself. Luckily, the amazing people who found him were able to get him to The COVE (Center Of Veterinary Expertise) for care and comfort that first night, then he went to stay with our friends at Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter for a few days, and now he's with us. We may never know who did this to Finn, but we do know that even though he's been through a lot... the only time he cries is when he's left alone. Over the past few months, Finn's face has healed, his vision has improved (but will never be great), and he underwent very intricate orthopedic surgery to repair his back leg. Finn desperately wants to be with people, but, he's never really had a chance to be a "normal" dog with loving humans. He's still learning. Sometimes he's fearful, sometimes he's over-excited and mouthy, and sometimes he's a calm snuggly dude. Finn will only be considered for adoption to a home with no children (nobody under the age of 18), and no other pets. He needs an experienced person to help him take his next steps towards recovery.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Meet Storm! She came to us pregnant and with heartworms from a shelter in rural North Carolina. Since then, she's raised her puppies (who've all found homes), been spayed, and successfully treated for heartworms. Storm is a 3 years old, 48-pound American Bully who's incredibly sweet! She's currently in foster care with dogs of all sizes and is doing great. Storm also gets along well with kids, and we've introduced her to cats but she is a little to interested so NO cats. She's a bit cautious around men, preferring to stay away from them if she can (she finds comfort in her crate). If you're looking for a loving new family member, Storm is the perfect choice! Remember, adopting a dog means committing to them for life. If you're interested in adopting Storm, please don't call. Instead, fill out an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care history of past and current pets to ensure the best homes for our animals. We reserve the right to approve or deny applications based on what's best for the pet. #dogsareworthit #adoptdontshop #bullymix #rescueisthebestbreed #lovedogs #dogs #dogsareacommittment

Story
Meet Hero! He was adopted but unfortunately returned. This special guy deserves another chance! Hero is a 3-year-old mix of American Pitbull and Beagle, weighing 39 lbs. He's the type of dog that gets along well with every other dog and truly thrives in their company. Hero also does well with cats and older, savvy children. He's a fan of running and has even participated in a 5k. Hero knows many commands and does best with regular training sessions. He's eager to please his humans and is already housebroken and, crate trained. Having been let down before, Hero will need some time to adjust to a new home and expectations. His new family must understand that Hero is a lifelong commitment, and they need to be dedicated to providing him with daily exercise, ongoing training, and socialization. Remember, adopting a dog means committing to them for life. If you're interested in adopting Hero, please don't call. Instead, complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We carefully review the care history of past and current pets. Story
Did I hear you wanted a doggy who gets zoomies like a puppy but has nice manners, is potty trained, and house trained? Well, you are in luck! Coco is the dog for you! At around 7-years-old, Coco might seem like she is simply a couch potato. However, while she absolutely adores snuggling and sleeping on the couch with her favorite people, she also absolutely adores stuffed animals, tennis balls, running outside, getting chased by her favorite people, and getting zoomies! You would be surprised how quick this doggy moves! She walks well on the leash, enjoying stopping to smell the metaphorical roses! While she is shy in loud spaces, she is quite the curious dog and likes adventuring with people she trusts! She also is a bit shy to meet new people, but after about 5 minutes, she just showers you with cute wiggles and love! Speaking of wiggles, if left alone in the house, she relaxes and lounges around and once you come home from a tiring day, you have an adorable dog to shower you in more wiggles of love! While she would do best in a house without another dog, she has gotten increasingly better with the dogs she sees on walks. She just needs someone to build her trust so she can be sure you have her back! She has so much love to give and likes to give kisses to brighten your day and remind you how much you are loved!
