Story
Junie was found outdoors. My parents let her stay in the garage over the years and she has become rather domesticated. He likes to be inside and outside yet loves snuggles and to be cared for. My parents are no longer able to care for any animals due to medical issues and are too old to take care of the cats. Junie would be best in a single pet home to get all the love and attention he deserves! He was found as part of a barn program I believe but was abandoned. I can get him up to date on all shots and anything else needed before being rehomed. He is a sweetheart!

Born: 3/30/2017 Adoption Donation: $50 Pineapple can be a great companion as long as you respect his boundaries. All cats are microchippped, neutered, current on all vaccines, and FeLV/FIV tested at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Story
Crumbles wears her heart on her side for all to see. She is such pretty girl! Curious and sweet, she is sure to win your heart. She does not like to be held for long but is making slow progress & working on that with her foster family. She loves her cat toy wands and mice but isn’t a fan of most treats. She loves to see what her foster family is up to, and her presence always lights up a room. She does ok with good dogs and ok with other nice cats. Crumbles will shy away from her siblings if they play too hard for her taste. She would do best with being paired well in a super sweet cat home to avoid her potentially being bullied. She would also do well in a single cat family. Home is where her heart is and Crumbles is waiting for her forever one! rh

Story
Meet Mittens! He is a very loving kitty. He was a stray cat. We took him in and he is the most grateful cat. He loves the cuddle with you! He sleeps very peacefully. He is very sweet. He loves attention and toys. Mittens is the best cat ever. The reason we have to rehome him is that our other cats are not fond of him. Mitten deserves a home that he feels comfortable in and unfortunately that isn’t our home. Mittens is good around our female cat but our male cats do not like him. He is really good about using a litter box. He loves treats and loves cat nip.

Story
Meet August, the most distinguished gentleman in town! At 14 years young, this dashing senior kitty is ready to enjoy his golden years in a loving forever home. With his sleek black coat and wise, soulful eyes, he’s the definition of feline sophistication. August may be a little shy at first, but give him time, and you'll see his affectionate side shine. He absolutely loves being brushed and scratched, and once he trusts you, he’ll reward you with sweet companionship. He has a special fondness for quiet moments and gentle affection, making him the perfect cozy-night-in companion. Due to cataracts, August’s world is a little blurry, but that doesn’t stop him from exploring when he feels safe! He may need a little extra patience as he learns his way around, but he’s got a curious heart and a brave spirit. He enjoys a predictable routine, a peaceful environment, and the company of kind humans (bonus points if you love late-night chats—he’s a bit of a nighttime philosopher!). August is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can feel secure and loved. If you’re ready to open your heart to this charming senior, he’ll repay you with endless gratitude, quiet companionship, and the best bedtime stories (in meow form, of course!). Are you the special someone who can give August the loving retirement he deserves? Meet this handsome gentleman and let him steal your heart! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Meet Jackson, the adorable orange tabby with a heart of gold! While he may be a little shy at first, don’t let that fool you—once Jackson feels comfortable, he transforms into the sweetest cuddle buddy. He loves lounging in high places where he can watch the world go by, keeping a watchful eye on everything (like the little king he is). And if you’re lucky enough to get him to trust you, he’s all about those scratches—especially around the ears and chin! Jackson is also great with other cats, making him a perfect addition to a multi-cat household. He’s looking for a patient, loving home where he can relax and blossom into the affectionate companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to earn the love of this charming orange kitty, he’ll be there to return the favor Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours.
