Story
Ziva is a very loving cat. It pains me to let her go but she has been getting multiple uti and the vet thinks maybe the other two cats we have stress her out. She’s had 2 teeth removed due to a bacteria dissolving them. We can’t afford to constantly take her to the vet for this and we are also moving out of state which could further stress her out. I want to find her a good home.

Story
Snowball and Kirby are both loving and friendly gentlemen looking for a new home.  Their elderly owner is ill and no longer able to care for them.  Snowball and Kirby are usually calm and enjoy being around people.  They are a little shy at first, but will eventually warm up.  Their perfect home would be with adults that have lots of love to give them! The suggested adoption donation for Snowball and Kirby is $75 for both, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Winslow is an American Shorthair, born 2011.  Winslow would do well in a home with minimal people and a calm environment.  She can tolerate other animals, but it takes time for her to adjust.  She does better with male cats than female cats and she previously lived with dogs.  Winslow would also be perfectly content alone.   Winslow needs owners who can manage her health and provide her with a calm and loving home, especially since she is a senior lady!  She has Hyperthyroidism and takes medication daily.  She also takes something for Anxiety daily.  Prior to anxiety medication, she was more aggressive.  Since starting the medication, she is calm and adpts well to new people and places.  Once she is comfortable, she is very loving.   The suggested adoption donation for Winslow is $75, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Ralph is a great cat. He is snuggly and playful when he gets comfortable, but he is a scaredy cat that will need time to adjust. We're having trouble with him peeing on the dog beds and any laundry left on the floor and our attempts to get this behavior to stop hasn't worked, so we are looking to re-home him. Maybe someone with more experience or fewer cats can correct this.

Story
Oscar is such a sweet boy. He loves to cuddle and rub his face on yours. He enjoys laying on the back of the couch and resting his legs over your shoulder. I love him so much. I need for him to have a good home. I can't keep him because my grandson is extremely allergic. I know he will make a great addition to your family.

Story
Peanut and Piper are very sweet and love their humans. We brought home a puppy at the end of March and at first it seemed that he and Piper would get along well. They played and played. However, as the puppy has grown, he has become more aggressive. Playfully so but he is now too rough with Piper. I believe Piper would adjust well to a small dog. Peanut (short for Peanut Butter) does not tolerate dogs. Both cats are friendly with kids and absolutely love attention! They are both very sweet girls. Both were rescues and just turned one mid July. They both have front and rear claws.
