Story
Hark, I am Raven, THE most beautiful Black kitty People have told me and others that I am a sleek, jet-black beauty with a soft, glossy coat that almost shimmers in the light. I have the prettiest yellow eyes that shine with curiosity and a hint of mystery. You will lose yourself when gazing into my eyes. While I am a bit shy around people and tend to keep my distance from unfamiliar faces my foster mom is helping me become more socially adept. My love for treats is undeniable—it’s one of the few things that can lure me out of my hiding spots! I am gentle and I have a sociable side, easily getting along with other cats. I adore lounging at the top of the cat tree, where I can survey everything from my lofty perch. I would love to meet you and have you love me. If you would like to meet me, the first step is to complete the Humane Association of the Lowcountry (HAL) Adoption Application located on the HAL website. The URL is: http://www.halsc.org Look forward to meeting you, Raven

Story
C’mon ginger lovers, do we have a cat for you! Peaches is so awesome and we have no idea why, but she keeps getting overlooked as many other of our cats have been adopted. She has been with AAC in a foster home for a while now and we have really gotten to know her. She is a true people cat and loves to play. She is a young and VERY smart cat. She loves cuddles and just hanging out after play. She is fully vetted, spayed and estimated at about a year old. Despite being abandoned at a young age, she has taken it all in stride. She is brave, silly and interactive. While Peaches is a love and would probably do well with another feline-friendly cat in her new home, she would also thrive as a spoiled solo cat. Understanding she has been through some rough times and will need a little time to settle into her new home and trust her new people, respectful/gentle older children (or a child-free home could work too) are recommended. Very few orange cats are female, so this little girl is a true diamond in the rough. We actually think this one is smart enough … you could teach her tricks! INDOOR HOMES ONLY. Being on the streets was rough on this little one. For the safety of our cats, a home check is a requirement of adoption. But we make this as convenient as possible. Our required application can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/231967731104152 AAC’s new Adoption Program is run by all volunteers and is very small so we have limited space to help cats (who have nowhere else to go and usually are facing euthanization). So when you adopt Peaches, you also open up a space so we can save another life.

Story
Oreo has been with us for a little while now and we have really gotten to know him. He came to us when he was abandoned with his sister Hazel (now adopted) at a local trailer park. He has been taken into a wonderful foster home to decompress from his time on the streets and wow, is he is doing GREAT! The potential in him is truly unlimited; and someone will be so lucky to have this journey of discovery and further emotional healing with him. We have learned he is a total love bug once he learns to trust you. This can take a week or two, so we are looking for a kind and patient adopter to simply let this shy little guy acclimate at his own speed. We have also learned that he does great with other young cats and might really enjoy a cat-friendly, confident buddy who will show him the ropes in his new home. But he would also thrive as your one and only. Let’s work together to find this diamond in the ruff his furever family. He is estimated at about 2 years old, fully vetted, healthy and on the smaller side for a male cat. He has great litter box habits, isn’t picky about food. INDOOR HOMES ONLY (he has had enough of the streets). For the safety of our cats, home visits required. We make this as convenient and unobtrusive as possible. Adoption fee $50. Story
Meet one of our newest arrivals, Oscar! This bright-eyed handsome fellow came to us from our friends at Chatham Animal Control (Savannah), when he and 8 other cats lost their home when their owner died. He had nowhere else to go. Oscar is the most outgoing and friendly of the three AAC was able to help and he is curious and brave, despite all that he has been through. He is still a bit shy though. He seems to really love people and it wasn’t long before he was rubbing against our volunteers and looking for attention and a snack. There is something so endearing about him, just a very gentle and kind cat. He is clearly excellent with other cats, but doesn’t seem bonded to any one cat. We think he will thrive in any kind, loving indoor home where he can be lay his paws and be spoiled. He might do great in an existing cat household or as your one and only. He is a bit of a couch potato, so if you’re looking for a low key, chill guy, please consider him for your next feline companion. Oscar is estimated at about 4 years old and is currently residing in an enclosure with his companions at AAC’s sanctuary. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy and would like to meet him, kindly fill out our required online application: https://form.jotform.com/231967731104152 Someone from our Cat Adoption Team will respond quickly. Please note that for the safety of our cats, a home visit is a requirement of all adoptions, but we make this as unobtrusive as possible.

Felt is not sure how she got her name, personally she is ready for a new one! She has the prettiest white markings and bright green eyes.  She ended up at the shelter at no fault of her own. She's 15 lbs and 6 years old with the calmest demeanor. We would love for her to find a home of her own. March 26, 2025, 4:02 pm

Story
Chica (along with her sister Tigeressa) are both looking for their forever homes. They were adopted and became loving companions to their owner; a single woman living alone who battled multiple forms of cancer. Chica and Tigeressa remained lovingly by her side throughout every stage of her battle. They were constant loyal companions to their owner and always brought her comfort. Tragically, their owner unexpectedly passed away during the summer of 2024. Along with her family members, Chica and Tigeressa were heartbroken and distraught over their beloved owner’s sudden passing. Their owner’s daughter made many efforts to merge Chica and Tigeressa with her own 3 cats and have them all blend together; however, it has not been successful. Chica was adopted as an adult and is estimated to be around 10 years old. She is very sweet and loves to curl up on a warm windowsill in the sunshine. She has been strictly indoors since being adopted by her original owner.

Story
Peculiar little lurker yet 100% lover boy is a pretty accurate description for Cheddar. He arrived at Renegade sick and tiny, rescued from animal hoarding. He spent the majority of his life being nurtured at the shelter and is currently residing in a foster home. He is really warming up to the idea of having a home of his own. Cheddar is a scared little boy however his obsession with comfortable furniture and head pets is helping him to come out of his shell. He would be perfectly content relaxing on a king size bed or perched on a cat tree all day. He does not care to be picked up and is easily startled, however he absolutely loves being loved on. Cheddar really likes having other cats around to teach him how to cat. He also seems to warm up to calm smaller dogs pretty quickly as long as they are respectful of his space. He does hide at times but he is so eager to be a part of what is going on. You can see it in his sweet little face that he wants to be included he just isn't quite sure how just yet. Cheddar would thrive in a quiet home with a family that understands just how special he is. It takes a little more time to receive his affections but he is so worth it.
