Vinny was completely vetted on 10/31/22 and is microchipped. He needs to be the only pet as he is not good with other dogs and cats. He weighed 60 lbs. at the time of vetting. He came to us from an abusive situation where he was starved. He is friendly with adults but probably not good with kids. Please send your phone number to learn more about Vinny.August 18, 2024, 1:36 pm

If you are interested in LAYLA or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. LAYLA is happy, adorable and tons of fun. She is fabulous with other animals and friendly to the max! LAYLA is the perfect girl to accompany you to the coffee shop, on errands, outdoor activities or any patio in town! She is also a certified professional bed buddy and couch cuddler. She is every bit as sweet as she looks and is always thrilled to be the recipient of attention and affection. She is one of those rare gems who is a fun active dog, without being overly hyper and annoying. This awesome combo is very desirable, but hard to find. She is good in her crate when her foster family is away from home and knows to potty outside. LAYLA is on the lookout for her forever home where she will be your smiling sidekick, playmate, adventure companion and loyal best friend forever. Her $540 adoption fee covers her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries, we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! If you are interested in HOOCH or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. TURNER and HOOCH were born approximately January 1, 2024. Luckily these little nuggets were able to stay with their mom and siblings until they were 7 weeks old. This is an amazing gift for puppies in rescue. Being with their mom during this important developmental time is priceless. At 7 weeks old they went into their very own foster home together in order to get more individual attention and ensure they become happy and well-adjusted pooches. These gorgeous boys are just bursting with puppy love, puppy kisses, puppy snuggles, and puppy playfulness. They adore people, other dogs, and kids. They have been socialized a ton! TURNER and HOOCH soak up all the cuddles and affection they can get. They excelled at crate training and are mastering their potty training. They have an inquisitive nature about them and love exploring the world around them. With one of these kids, every day’s a great day! Their forever families will be hitting the puppy jackpot! Story
Meet Dalton! Dalton is an energetic pup who was nearly returned to the SPCA after just a few days with his owner, prior to our rescue stepping in. Dalton loves playing ball and tug and would probably do best in a home with an active owner who can help burn off some of his puppy energy! Dalton is up to date on his vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped. Could you be the family he's looking for?December 30, 2023, 12:05 am

Story
Meet Menchie! Menchie is a sweet dog that had been starved prior to landing in the local high kill shelter. She was extremely ill with an upper respiratory but we got her back to full health once we saved her from near doom. Menchie loves belly rubs, any kind of attention, and has turned into quite a playful girl. She catches a look in your eye & immediately goes into play bow or scoots around with her but tucked. Menchie can be dog selective and seems to have a high prey drive so we don't bother testing her with cats. She can be relaxed in most situations yet playful when you rile her up. Menchie is spayed, up to-date on vaccines and microchipped. Her bucket list includes her forever family, so won't you consider making her wish come true? December 30, 2023, 12:05 am

Story
Meet Gabrio! Gabrio is a sweet boy, confiscated after a backyard breeder went to jail. He has several scars, implying that he may've been beat up on purpose, though he is one of the most happy-go-lucky dogs you'll ever meet! Gabrio loves people and gets very excited when shown affection. But, being a bit of an attention-hog, he prefers a house without children. Gabrio enjoys car rides. He would do well with a patient owner as he adjusts to the structure of a new home, but with a great attitude and desire to please, it doesn't take him long to learn. Gabrio comes neutered, up to-date on shots and microchipped. Won't you consider giving him the family he never had?December 30, 2023, 12:05 am

Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4 year old Pitbull Lab (?) mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. Because I’m such a good boy, I’m allowed in the house and have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. You can hold the TV remote for us. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever with some training. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. Fortunately, my past dog life doesn’t include any physical abuse so I’m not afraid of people or other animals. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire so I wouldn’t be a good hunting dog. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Recently I was tricked into getting “tutored” and woke up with my bubbles missing. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours!
