Meet Lola: The Hippo-Pittie with a Heart Full of Love! Introducing Lola, an adult female gray pit bull with an adorable resemblance to a gentle hippo. Lola’s gorgeous coat and loving eyes are just the beginning of her many wonderful qualities. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Lola is the perfect match. What Makes Lola Special? Lola is the epitome of friendliness and playfulness. Her love for human companionship shines through every interaction. She thrives on being close to her people, whether you're lounging at home or exploring the neighborhood on a walk. Always curious, she's fascinated by whatever you're doing, making her a delightful living companion. A Perfect Walking Partner: Lola loves her walks and is excellent on a leash, always staying by your side, ready to keep pace with whatever adventure you choose. Her intelligence and eagerness to please make her a joy to spend time with outdoors. Ideal Home for Lola: Lola would thrive in a quiet home with older children and adults who can provide the calm environment she prefers. While she adores her human friends, she can be selective with other dogs. Lola would do best as the only pet or with a very slow introduction to larger dogs if already present in the household. Her ideal family will understand her needs and be committed to continuing her socialization and training. Lola’s Big Heart: Above all, Lola is a huge lover girl. She offers endless affection and loyalty and dreams of finding a forever human to call her own. She has so much love to give and is just waiting for the right person to share her heart with. Why Adopt Lola? Adopting Lola means not just giving a home to a dog in need but gaining a devoted friend who will enrich your life with joy, loyalty, and love. She’s ready to be your steadfast companion, offering comfort and warmth every day. Ready to welcome Lola into your life? She’s ready to fill your home with love and gentle companionship. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home and we want our adopters to be prepared for that! APPLY on our WEBSITE: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Humphrey has a long story to tell, its one of sadness, fame, heartbreak, strength, courage, and hopefully it ends with nothing but love. One fateful day Humphrey shows up on a porch with a super heavy chain around his neck and cautiously invites himself inside, the video of which went semi-viral on Instagram. He is fostered by the home owners and begins to trust them and all people- but horrifically is shot in the face by their neighbor while standing on the sidewalk one day. Traumatized and with a fresh jaw fracture repair surgery he is urgently moved to another foster home for his own protection. In his new foster home he is treated with medical care, patience, time, and most importantly love. Flash forward to today- his physical wounds have healed but he still is healing his emotional scars. Humphrey loves ALL dogs - but is nervous of ALL humans at first. Makes sense, right? Humphrey is now scared of the dark, has a phobia of loud sudden noises and frequently stalls out on the leash. BUT he is potty trained, sweet and attentive once you gain his trust. Humphrey is a great versatile player, and can live with small and big dogs of all temperaments. He likes to be chased and loves to play with dog puzzles. Do you and your dogs want to meet this big squishmallow? Are you willing to be patient and keep working with Humphrey to feel safer in the world while celebrating all of the wonderful traits he already has? If so please consider opening your heart and home to this traumatized boy, we are confident you will learn so much about life and love from the relationship you will build with him. When we work to undo the pain our species inflict on animals, we need to first address OUR expectations. What is fair to expect of traumatized animals? Instead of having high expectations of the dog- is it better to open our hearts and expect to have to learn and grow along with the dog? Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Nipsey has now learned all he needs to learn in his foster home and is ready to meet his forever family! This boy has a beautiful, tender personality - on the shy and clingy side! It takes Nipsey a little bit of time to acclimate to new people and places - but he is getting more curious with each new exposure. As you can tell from his cropped ears - he suffered significant neglect in his puppyhood. Nipsey needs to live with another dog! He enjoys affectionate people who spend a lot of time at home, or like to take him on car rides. Included in the adoption fee of $275 is up to date vet care, vaccines to date of adoption, dewormer, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery at our vet (if not already completed at adoption). Story
Meet Salvador! Salvador aka Sal is a 7-month-old puppy with a personality as big as his heart! This little guy is full of energy and love, and he’s looking for his forever family to share his playful spirit and cuddly nature with! His favorite activities include playing with his foster fur siblings, chasing squeaky toys, and enjoying a yak chew. When it’s time to wind down, he’s the #1 cuddler, always ready to give the best puppy hugs and snuggles! Sal is a blend of outgoing and laidback - he is social and loving, curious and playful, snuggly and silly. Sal is smart and treat motivated, making training enjoyable and smoother for all. He has learned many basic commands like "sit", "shake", "lay down", "outside", "crate", and his name. Sal is fully potty trained and fully crate trained - he even sleeps through the night in his kennel! He is working on leash training. Sal is great with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He is also really great with kids of all ages. His ideal family would be one that’s fairly active, possibly with children and/or another young dog around his size to match his playful energy. Sal prefers dogs who are the same size or larger than him. He could be the only dog in the home with someone who is committed to his socialization and training. If you have an adult dog, your dog will accompany you to the meet and greet to assist with the selection process. Adoptions are based on connection and chemistry! Adoption Fee: $325 This fee covers spay/neuter when age-appropriate, vaccines to date of adoption, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health. Sal is scheduled for neuter at the end of March. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. Story
Meet Comet! Here is a bit about him, in his own words… or woofs… -I LOVE toys but not small ones, bones to chew and I get the zoomies all the time. -I’m very loving, I’m learning how to cuddle and love to lay on the couch with a bone. -I think I would like a doggy friend but also could be happy as an only dog. -I’ve been neutered and got a clean bill of health from the vet as well. -I would love someone who would work with me on learning better leash skills and manners training. Comet was a shelter pull at risk of euthanasia due to space and the time he had been there. We were able to get him full vaccinated, neutered, and even allergy tested. He’s been doing great on the specific allergy friendly food he is on. We are thankful we could give him the chance at a forever life by bringing him to our rescue and helping him on his journey to finding a family! If Comet sounds like he could be a match, please fill out an application on our website.

This sweet girl is one of many dogs who's fate it was to be abandoned here in the south. People are throwing sweet dogs out day and night in this economy. Ducky is one of the lucky ones that was picked up by a kind stranger and brought to a rescue that was able to find a foster! She is Spayed and UTD on required vaccines. Ducky likes other dogs but is rambunctious. She loves everyone she meets so older children would be fine. She is close to housetrained and will just need to get comfortable with her new routine. If you would like to add this sweet and very pretty girl to your forever family, please email omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our info and app. If you do not see a response, be sure and check you junk folder.

Story
Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. If you are up for it, we can discuss. We cover all needed vet care. The adoption fee is $275. Please apply through our website: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Rosy is a very sweet dog but, she is very needy. She loves to be up under you, and all throw tantrums when she isn't. I got her from someone in the community a few months ago. I like her, but can't deal with the constant need for attention. If I play video games, she will use her nose to throw my hand from the controller. I'm hoping she finds a home with someone who can give her the attention she wants. She is crate trained, which I will give you. I also have a pet vacuum with attachments that I will also include.
