Story
Meet Sky, 2 yr old mix, neutered male (Anatolian shepherd and pit-bull is our guess) needs a new loving home. My parents have had him since he was 10 weeks old. He gets along with other dogs and people. My parents are older folks and don’t have the time and energy Sky needs for proper training, consistency and structured exercise. He would be much better off with a couple or single person who knows how to mean business with a neutral demeanor. Sky has resource guarding and alpha challenger issues. These can all be well managed with the right training, follow through and neutral calm demeanor. I am a trainer myself and would be willing and happy to work with whomever decides to re-home Sky as a curtesy. Giving him a safe loving and well balanced home would be worthwhile enough as a payment of my gratitude in giving back with my training expertise. Please message or call me if you or someone you know is interested.

This animal is available at Marin Humane Society Email: adoptions@marinhumanesociety.org Please do not contact North Bay Claire Bear 301278   Breed Anatolian Shepherd/German Shepherd Cross   Sex Female   Color Fawn/Red   Weight 120 lbs   Spayed   Age 6Yrs 11Mths 2Wks (approx)   Where can you find me?   I am at the Hopalong Foster Program location.   You can contact me by   Phone 415-506-6225   A Little Bit About Me   Claire Bear, an Anatolian Shepherd mix, was adopted from the Hopalong Program 6.5 years ago as a puppy, and has recently returned to us after her family had to relocate to care for their grandmother, and the complex does not allow dogs. The family is devastated as they absolutely adore her, and her mom shared that 'she has been the best dog she has ever had.'   Claire Bear is quite the big girl, and is a healthy, gentle giant who loves family activities, swimming at the beach, going for walks and playing with other dogs (whether they are large or quite small). She loves balls and carrying her stuffies around with her. Her best friend was her cat brother whom she adored and slept with, and the two of them have been partners in crime and loved to sneak up on the couch together and cozy up when their mom was at work. She has been with her family since she was 12 weeks old, is well trained and has a beautiful and happy personality. She is not a farm, outdoor or guard dog; she loved being with her people (which also included a child) and other animals. She loves the dog park, meeting dogs on walks and driving to Peet's to get a pup cup.   If you or anyone you know is a big dog lover and is looking for a peach to join their household, please share this post. She is one of the easiest dogs we have ever rehomed which we don't say very often. She is currently being fostered in the East Bay at Happy Hound.  Adoption Center: (415) 506-6225 The Marin Humane Society 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato, California 94949 Email: adoptions@marinhumanesociety.orgMarch 11, 2025, 11:57 pm

Story
Turk is the epitome of adorable! Turk is estimated to be around 3 months old and is a bundle of fun! He lives for food, and if you have treats you have his full attention. He loves to be the center of attention and is always front and center when people visit him and his siblings. He is still learning all the ropes of how to be a good boy and needs a family dedicated to working on all his training. Turk weighs about 40lbs now and we estimate he will be at least 80lbs when fully grown. Turk came to us with his three siblings from a partner rescue, BONES. BONES is located in a rural part of Northern California and works to help the large population of stray and feral dogs in their area. Turk and his siblings were found without their mom on the nearby Native American reservation. BONES took them in and then they were transferred to us so they could find their fur-ever homes. These kiddos need individual homes so they can get the one-on-one time they need. Turk is the biggest and most playful one of the group. He is the big goofball who loves to romp around and has learned that chest and back scratches can be pretty great. He is still learning all of his basic manners and needs a large-dog-experienced family to help him continue to learn. He is a smart boy and quickly learned to sit. He would be a great candidate for group puppy classes. Turk  is pretty mellow for his age and seems like he is going to be a gentle giant as an adult. Turk has done well meeting other dogs and we think he would love to have another playful large dog in his new home. He also could do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with dog friends. Turk would do best in a kitty-free. He would do best with a family with teenagers or an adult-only home. Turk  has done well meeting large animals like goats, sheep, and horses. Turk  could be a wonderful addition to a family with teenagers or an adult-only home. Turk has mostly been an outdoor dog but is looking for a family who will make him a member of the family and will want him to be an indoor dog. He hasn't had any house or crate training, so will need a patient family who will be willing to work on that with him. Turk is such a big, lovable pup and he can't wait to find his fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Turk's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org.
