APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. ABIGAIL is an Anatolian Shepherd mix. She is about 75# and 2-3 yrs old. Abigail has some fuzzy hair with a beautiful fluffy tail that curls over her back when she’s playful. She is house trained and crate trained. She has no interest in cats and is particularly fearful of farm animals. She has not been around farm animals while growing up. In the process of testing her with all the animals, the donkey was the scariest and the noise the pigs made were frightful. After a half an hour walking among the farm animals she became much more curious and about them and calm…even with the donkey. She was a little leery of my sister and me but it only took her a few minutes to say hello. After that, all of us were able to pet her and give her treats. Her temperament is calm, sweet, and adaptable. Abigail has an allergy to Chicken so she is kept on a Blue Buffalo Lamb kibble. She also needs to go outside every 6-7 hours to do her business. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. Amelia is an Anatolian Shepherd mix. She is about 65# and 2-3 yrs old. Amelia has shorter hair than her sister and resembles more like a Lab. She is house trained and crate trained. She has no interest in cats and is particularly fearful of farm animals. She has not been around farm animals while growing up. In the process of testing her with all the animals, the donkey was the scariest and the noise the pigs made was frightful. Her temperament is calm, sweet, and adaptable. AMELIA has been raised in a wonderful country home…crated at night and let play outside in the daytime. She does love to play with other dogs. Amelia is subject to ear infections… dogs with floppy ears do tend to have more ear infections…and she has a propensity to jumping fences as high as 5 ft. She will probably need a wooden privacy fence. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Story
Come meet adoptable dogs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM at our Adoption Center located at 11116 Fairfax Station Rd. Fairfax Station, VA 22039. We can also schedule time to meet a specific dog at the Adoption Center during the week by appointment - just fill out the application and we will follow up with you! For animals in foster homes, please submit an online application and a member of our Adoptions team will reply with next steps. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to: barroso.selma@gmail.com Sudi is a super amazing dog from Iran , where she endured horrible cruelty that we cannot even begin to fathom. As a working farm dog, when she did not perform to her owner's satisfaction he cut off her front paws, dragged her behind a car and hit and kicked her. How she lived we do not know. But thankfully, an Iranian loving person rescued her and through a lot of hard work, Sudi left Iran for Canada and then made her way to us here at Homeward Trails. She recently was fitted for prosthetic feet and is doing remarkably well in them, getting a new lease on life that allows her to be more mobile. While we thought she may need hip surgery to replace her hip socket, we are currently waiting on that per her veterinarian orthopedist's suggestion to have a specialist determine if it is workable. For now, she remains on pain meds and steroids to address the issue, which may end up being her long-term solution. Sudi needs an adoptive family. She is great with all people but does not like other animals enough to live with them. It may be her low-level pain or fear but we have tried and we now know she wishes to be an only animal. This girl is a truly remarkable example of endurance and spirit. That she even trusts humans at all after what has been done to her is truly, truly inspiring. She will do best in a home with few stairs - or least a home where she can get inside/outside without many. She would love a yard where she can lounge in the sun. Whatever orthopedic issues come her way in the near future in terms of surgery will be covered by Homeward Trails. We are proud to partner with the following veterinarians who offer a free first exam for your animal, exclusively for HT adopters: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Sunshine Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals. Additionally, any VCA hospital will cover illnesses up to $250 at no cost to any Homeward Trails adopter. We also provide free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting - just for HT adopters in the Arlington/Alexandria/Falls Church/DC area. Start your new dog out on the right foot with this valuable, expert guidance FREE! You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. Story
This gal and her siblings were found in the woods. They are a sweet group of pups who will grow into wonderful dogs. Being part Anatolian Shepherd (we think) means they need some room to roam. They are typically laid back with wonderful personalities that get along with just about anything. They just need something to do. So lots of activity, walks and/or a farm. We just want these babies to find a great home with families who will love them and take care of their needs. Indy is a friendly girl who likes everybody! She is always happy to see people, likes to play with the other puppies. She will need all the training that puppies need but will learn fast. Routines help a lot. We know the right family is out there for these babies. She is fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Ollie is a handsome, loving 5-year old Great Dane in need of a new home. Due to an impending job / lifestyle change I won't be able to provide Ollie with the time and attention he needs. Ideally Ollie will find a home with owner's that can give him ample time, love, and attention. He does well with apartment living, but would love a yard to explore. He has a gentle disposition, and loves being around people. Ollie loves nothing more than to cuddle and fall asleep next to (or on) his people. He likes medium length walks where he can sniff away, and then coming home to rest. He's not particularly into "playing", preferring asking human's for pets over playing with other dogs at the dog park. Ollie is the perfect dog if what you want is a low-activity giant ball of love that wants to be your best friend and cuddle as much as you'll let him.

Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Lucky Lucas is a handsome 4 month old Great Dane/Lab mix puppy that is lucky because he was rescued from a very life-threatening situation during this summer’s heat wave in Tennessee. It was over 100 degrees and he was carelessly tied to a post at the local Walmart during the hot, hot day.  A foster mom for Critter Cavalry Rescue saw his desperate situation and stepped up and took him home.  It seems that this boy was dumped by a homeless man who could not really keep him safe and fed. This foster mom saved his life and we are grateful she had the heart to not turn her back on his need to be saved. No one else cared it seemed that day.  He is now in our care and we are working on getting him fully vetted and ready for a new home.   This handsome boy is a big couch potato like most Great Danes can be and yet he enjoys going for a walk and THEN hitting the sofa.  He also loves to sit by a window and watch the world go by kind of like a cat does. As you can imagine, the bigger the dog, the bigger the heart and Lucas is all about having a wonderful heart.  He is a great movie watching pal and is a pro at bedtime snuggling. He gets along very well with other dogs, cats and children. Look at that face. So kissable!!!   You must consider this boy who will be a 75 pound boy and the best of both worlds…. Great Dane and Lab.  Write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application.  Tell us where you live: city and state when emailing us. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm
