Meet Franklin! Franklin is a 8 year old, 95 pound, Anatolian Shepherd Mix. He was rescued in the nick of time from the euthanasia list in July 2022 and is ready for his forever home and a family of his own.We unfortunately know little of his past, as he was found as a stray, but he certainly does not act like a senior. Franklin is truly a fun-loving guy. He LOVES to play with other dogs and gets along with everyone, but can come off a little strong with his playful energy. He is a big goofball and does not have a mean bone in his body, but he would probably do best with older kids just due to his size. He is a very sweet guy and loves to scope out and curl up in the comfiest of spots. He is a big fan of toys, chews, and bones, but I recommend the tougher-duty ones, as he has been known to do a number on plush toys.Franklin is potty-trained and crate-trained. We crate him overnight and while we are not home, and he is great about going right into his crate when told. He does well on a leash. He has not gotten out much recently, but I am sure he would appreciate some more adventures. He has been around and done well with horses. Hi, I’m Moon. They say I’m a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, but honestly, I feel much older than that. Life hasn’t exactly been gentle with me. For as long as I can remember, it’s just been me, Bennett – my baby’s dad – and the endless streets. I gave birth to my little one, Alex, all alone out there. We didn’t have a safe place to rest or warm hands to care for us. It was just me, trying my best to keep us alive and safe. The kind folks at Second Chance Dog Rescue found me after someone saw me and Bennett roaming around. A partner of theirs trapped me and brought me to safety, but it’s hard to let go of the fear and hurt. The past has left its mark, and every human hand feels like a question: Will they hurt me, too? I’m trying, though. The volunteers here are patient, letting me come to them on my own terms. I want to trust them, but my heart needs time. I’m a good mom, a gentle soul, and, despite my past, I know deep down I still have love to give. I like being able to see Bennett here; it’s a small comfort. I even enjoy the company of other dogs, as long as they respect my space and understand that trust doesn’t come easy for me. Every day, I’m learning that maybe – just maybe – there’s a future out there with a kind family who won’t let me down. Until then, I’m holding on, one soft touch and gentle word at a time. We got Woody on a farm in Oklahoma when he was a puppy. He is now 4 years old. He’s been a great dog and we are sad to have to rehome him, but we just had our first child and having 3 dogs is causing too much stress. He gets along great with our female dog, but not with our male dog. He seems to be fine with our chickens as well. He enjoys being indoors and outdoors. Would do best in a well fenced yard. He is very sweet and goofy!

Meet Pantera!Pantera is a very sweet approximately 18 month old female Great Dane. She loves attention and to play with other dogs but she also is content curling up next to you on the bed or sofa. She doesn’t seem too bothered by cats either. She’s just curious about them. She loves food and treats and sits very nicely for rewards. She’s working on patience and sitting before eating her meals and does not show any food aggression towards humans or other dogs. She would knock over small children since she is still young and playful. She does like company when going outside to do her potty duties. She is crate and house trained. She needs a crate that is secure, otherwise she figures out how to open the doors. She gets excited and likes to jump up to be closer to you but she is working on this also and wants to please you. Because of her size Pantera needs to be in a house rather than an apartment. She also likes to run and so a yard with a high fence would be good for her to romp around in.
