Story
Two dogs: Liam (male) and Layla (female). We believe they are siblings. They showed up together to our home and they were too cute and sweet to turn away. We would love for them to remain together. The vet believes they may be an Anatolian Shepard and Great Pyrenees mix but we have never confirmed. They are about 4 years old. Our family absolutely adores them but our busy schedules dont allow us to love on them like they deserve. They are mostly home alone so we made the difficult decision to rehome and allow them to be part of another loving home. They are spayed and neutered and are potty trained. They have done great with our children, we have boarded them before but have never seen them personally around other dogs or cats.

Story
Hi, I’m Moon. They say I’m a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, but honestly, I feel much older than that. Life hasn’t exactly been gentle with me. For as long as I can remember, it’s just been me, Bennett – my baby’s dad – and the endless streets. I gave birth to my little one, Alex, all alone out there. We didn’t have a safe place to rest or warm hands to care for us. It was just me, trying my best to keep us alive and safe. The kind folks at Second Chance Dog Rescue found me after someone saw me and Bennett roaming around. A partner of theirs trapped me and brought me to safety, but it’s hard to let go of the fear and hurt. The past has left its mark, and every human hand feels like a question: Will they hurt me, too? I’m trying, though. The volunteers here are patient, letting me come to them on my own terms. I want to trust them, but my heart needs time. I’m a good mom, a gentle soul, and, despite my past, I know deep down I still have love to give. I like being able to see Bennett here; it’s a small comfort. I even enjoy the company of other dogs, as long as they respect my space and understand that trust doesn’t come easy for me. Every day, I’m learning that maybe – just maybe – there’s a future out there with a kind family who won’t let me down. Until then, I’m holding on, one soft touch and gentle word at a time. Thank you for following my journey. I may have been let down before, but I’m hopeful my second chance is just around the corner. Ready to meet me? Fill out the adoption form or foster form below and the nice volunteers will be in touch soon. ? Adopt: https://forms.gle/wGHovEBpHfhZJcgQA ? Foster: https://forms.gle/mWzGJcvMuRyGDtsx6 Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up-to-date on vaccines, deworming, heartworm tested, a supply of heartworm preventative, and microchip. If you would like to set up a meet & greet with this cutie, please fill out an interest-to-adopt form at www.scdrm.com, and we’ll be in touch!

Story
Abigail was given to us from our friends to help raise our sheep. We got her when she was 8 months along with her sister. We were told she was with 6 other dogs on a ranch and learned her hierarchy but still showed aggression towards her sister. Sister is very submisisve. Abigail loves to play with her sister and run the prioerrt. She was also great with our sheep for the past year. She herds them and grooms them. However, when she is in a bad mood or it would rain she attacked her sister and our ram on separate occasions. She would also keep them out of the shelter and growl. She has never shown aggression towards ourselves or young children. She wags her tail when name is called but does not come when called. She would thrive in a home without other pets! We joke and say she is a great dog she just doesn't like her role we need her for. We would absolutely keep her but we have 4 other dogs and she would be better in a home she could be the main star of the show.

Story
Noodle was given to me by a neighbor who could not care for him. Neighbor originally found him as a stray but had a microchip already. Noodle was originally from the Florida panhandle according to the chip. As a first time dog owner, Noodle has been an amazing and easy dog! He knows his basic commands sit, lay down, go outside, come here. Very trainable. Extremely obedient and does well in various situations. Enjoys meeting new people and is very happy. Fun fact: Also have noticed that he enjoys female people and is definitely a lady's man. :)
