Lady is a very good mom to her puppies. Picked up by Animal Control in rural Union County. A few days into the 14 day hold before being euthanized, she gave birth to 8 puppies in the county jail kennels. A plea for help was posted. No one bothered. Two weeks later another plea for help with the threat of Parvo. Again, no one bothered. For The Puppies took Lady and her remaining 7 puppies for veterinarian care. One puppy died of heat exhaustion. Mom and remaining puppies are in an emergency foster thriving. Now they are healthier and out of the heat. Lady has been able to relax and not be stressed over her puppies. This girl is 26 pounds of energy and love. She had to be captured by the local animal control officer and was prettified. She was lunging and growling and very upset. But something in her eye just pleaded for me to help her. So I picked her up from the shelter and brought her home where George (our cat) helped me show her that humans and other animals are good. George helped her calm down and let her guard down and after about an hour she was giving me lots of kisses. She is hilarious and is definitely a lover. She may need a couple of minutes to feel safe, but once she does, she is glued to you. She is extremely smart, loves to go for rides, walks and hikes or any adventure (we went kayaking) She prefers not to be left alone as she does have some separation anxiety. Her adoption fee is $325 and if transport is necessary that is an additional $200 We are hoping to find her someone local to TN. Ruby is a beautiful eight week old Australian Shepherd mix. She and her littermates were thrown out on the side of the road in Mississippi. They were spotted playing in the middle of the road by someone driving by. Ruby gets along with every dog she meets and children. She hasn’t been around any cats.
