Story
Beasley is a beautiful boy and so very smart— he knows “sit, “lay down”, “roll over“, and "wait.” He’s a typical heeler who can be a little too smart for his own good! But this intelligent pup is highly food motivated, so responds well to reinforcement and training. Beasley has lots of energy and loves to play fetch. But, he can also be very cuddly and sweet. Beasley is house trained!  He is good with kids, fine with other dogs and also gets along with the cat in his foster home!! Beasley would do best with a fenced yard and someone who is home more often than not. He would love a home with herding dog experience to help him be the best dog he can be!! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
We rescued Buddy from the shelter in January of 2024. We thought our 1yr old puppy needed a friend his size/age. He has always been a sweet and loving boy, but seems to like to jump our fence and greet the neighbors. Some like it, most do not. He doesn't bother them other than sniffing and sitting. This breaks our hearts, but we believe Buddy would be happiest on a farm or large acreage. And constant attention and loyalty will ensure his happiness. He is very much a velcro dog, following you everywhere. Comes when called and sits, speaks on command and gives paw. He's just 2.5 years old and 40 lbs (he loves treats). If you have cats, make sure they are confident. He enjoys playing with toys, belly rubs, chew bones, car rides, tussling with his fur family and hoomans, and performing a few tricks. He's so smart! Come meet this guy, give him his dream life! We are greatly saddened that we cannot.

Story
Tripp is a great dog. He’s 3.5yrs old and is high energy being a Blue Healer and needs lots of exercise. He loves to hike, play catch, frisbee, soccer and run. He loves getting in the water as well. He does bark at other dogs he doesn’t know but once he greets them he’s always been fine. He is trained with basic commands (sit, lay, shake, roll over) and is able to ring the bell at the door when he needs to go outside. He’s a smart dog. He is not crate trained as I’ve never had a problem with him getting into anything. He does need a vet visit.
