Story
Hi, I'm Dutchess. I was adopted over four years ago and recently returned after getting into a scuffle with another dog at my house. My previous owner was not able to take me to the vet, so they brought me back to my friends at the Humane Society of Tulsa. I'm all fixed up now and hoping to find a forever home where I am the only pet. I don't really mind other dogs at the shelter, but I am excited about getting to be an only child. My favorite things are sunbathing in the grass and belly scratches. I would also really like a couch to snuggle up on with my people.

Story
We heard someone say this about Rickey recently, and it just broke our hearts: "He's just kind of plain. Another big brown male dog. Nothing too special about him." But when we look into his eyes, we see something different. We see a weary traveler, a dog who's lived in filth and never had a clean home to relax in. A wounded warrior, who has scrounged for food and fought to stay alive when no one was taking care of him. A voiceless soul, who couldn't ask for help when his owner went into hospice. He and his doggy siblings were left to fend for themselves. Rickey may not be a coonhound or basset but he is absolutely the definition of a Helpless Hound. He been through so much in his 4 years, and has never known what it's like just be a dog. UNTIL NOW. Here's to you Rickey, and your new life. We are here to make sure you get to live every day to the fullest. We will make sure you know that you will be clean, fed, and have a warm home to rest your head in. We will take care of you everyday until your new family comes along. And we promise to remind you, every single day, just how special you are. This animal has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Now, he is prepared for his forever home!

Story
This handsome guy is Dawson. Dawson was unfortunately on a euthanization list and his time was almost up. He is only 2 years old. He is playful, good with other dogs, affectionate to people, calm...and about to lose his life because he was in a shelter that was filling up again. But he is safe now and ready for his people! Dawson is a great size at 45 lbs and definitely crate trained. He would make any family a wonderful addition. Our applications for Dawson can be found at www.carerescueok.org. ##1989771##

Story
Jenny is a female red heeler that had been roaming a neighborhood in town off and on for a few months. After serving her stray hold, no owners have come forward. Jenny is very smart. She will bring a ball to you when she wants to play fetch. She plays fetch wonderfully and does bring the ball back and drops it. She also knows how to sit, and shake. Jenny needs a little bit of work on walking on a leash. Jenny as rides really well in the truck as she just sits in the seat and makes the best passenger princess.

Story
Introducing Nixi, the delightfully adorable 1.5-year-old, 50lb Aussie mix who’s as charming as her name suggests! With a perpetually wagging nub tail, she’s a joy magnet, always eager to soak up every bit of attention she can get. Nixi’s journey brought her to us after a stint in the shelter, and now she’s ready to charm her way into your heart and home. This sweet girl is a bundle of joy, greeting everyone with a wag of her tail that could rival a doggy dance-off! Quick to trust and eager to please, Nixi is as smart as they come—she mastered her name in just three days (if only Wi-Fi passwords were that easy!). She’s incredibly observant of her surroundings and other dogs' behaviors, earning her the title of Sherlock Holmes of the canine world. Nixi is also a bit of a foodie—while she hasn’t ventured into many non-traditional dog foods yet, she’ll politely take treats from your hand, assess them with a discerning eye, and give you a look that says, “Are you serious?” Her manners are impeccable, and she takes direction like a pro—move over, Lassie! Nixi’s easygoing nature makes her a perfect fit for any home. If you’re seeking a smart, affectionate companion who brings laughter to your days, Nixi is the one for you! Nixi is a perfect blend of social butterfly and respectful neighbor when it comes to other dogs. She loves joining in on the fun but might throw in a theatrical growl if her personal space feels invaded. Whether flying solo or paired up with another pooch, she adapts effortlessly. While Nixi hasn’t met cats, her chicken-chasing skills hint that introductions might need careful consideration. Nixi is a natural with kids, transforming into a poised lady at the approach of two smaller children, sitting down for pets like she’s vying for Best Behaved Pup of the Year. She’s eager for playtime and won’t resist a good game of fetch—though she’s still mastering the art of bringing the toy back! Meeting new people brings out her quietly happy side, with no need for red carpet entrances, just a wagging tail and a friendly woof. When it comes to lifestyle, Nixi thrives on activity and exploration. She’s your go-to adventure buddy, always up for new places and experiences. While she appreciates relaxation, Nixi’s heart beats for the excitement of outings and activities—quiet moments are better saved for later! Independent and ready for the road, Nixi hops into the car on her own and makes a perfect passenger, content to enjoy the ride. Walking on a leash comes naturally to Nixi, though she’s open to a bit more practice to perfect her skills—especially with the heat of recent days slowing her down. Hiking is a definite yes for Nixi, who’s eager to hit the trails and explore nature with you—adventure awaits! Nixi’s energy level is medium to high, with a growing ability to relax as she settles into her new home. Indoor living is a new experience for her, but she’s adjusting beautifully. As for fetch, she’s got half the game down—fetching the toy enthusiastically, but the return trip is still a work in progress. Toys are becoming a favorite, especially when humans initiate the fun, revealing her playful side one squeaky toy at a time. Water isn’t her passion, showing little interest in playing and feeling a bit wary around hoses during outdoor baths—dry land suits her just fine! Would Nixi thrive in an apartment? Absolutely! Her quiet demeanor and lack of barking make her an ideal neighbor. Potty training? Mastered. Kennel training? New territory, but she’s a quick study. Plus, Nixi’s respect for household items ensures your belongings remain safe. And that’s Nixi in a tail-wagging nutshell! With her charm, smarts, and heart full of adventure, she’s more than ready to bring joy and laughter to her forever home. If you’re looking for a companion who’s as delightful as she is adorable, Nixi is your girl! Don’t miss out on the chance to make her a part of your family—she’s waiting to fill your days with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags. Come meet Nixi and see for yourself why she’s the perfect match for your heart and home! 📍 Pickup Location: Sand Springs, OK 📝 Adoption App: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Story
Hey there, world! I'm Beacon, the tiny, 7-week-old Aussie mix with a whole lot of charm packed into just 5 pounds of fur and fun. 🐾 At just 7 weeks old, I’ve already mastered the art of being the happiest little Velcro dog you’ll ever meet. I might be small, but my enthusiasm for people is HUGE! I’ve got a knack for following humans around because, let’s be honest, you’re the best thing since squeaky toys. I wasn’t raised around siblings, so I’m all about people—think of me as your future Velcro pup. While I might not have grown up with siblings, I’m definitely making up for it with my endless love for humans. Smart? You bet! Cute? That’s an understatement. If you adopt me, I’ll show you just how fantastic life can be with a little Beacon by your side! 🌟 Now, are you curious how a puppy as adorable and sweet as me ended up in rescue? Well here’s the scoop: I found myself at the shelter, and while it wasn’t the best start, it led me here and hopefully now to YOU! I’m not sure how I ended up at the shelter, but what I do know is that being there made me even more determined to find a family who’ll appreciate my boundless joy and affection. I’m ready to make up for lost time by being the most loving, devoted little buddy you could ever ask for. Let me tell you a secret: kids are probably my favorite thing in the whole world! They’re just so much fun—so many giggles, games, and hugs. While I’m all about the love and games, it’d be awesome if the kids could be a bit “puppy-savvy.” It’s important for them to know that my eagerness to play might come with a bit of extra enthusiasm and nibbles. I’m not trying to be naughty; it’s just how I’m learning about the world. So, if you’ve got kids, they’ll(and you mama bear) need to be patient with me as I learn how to be the perfect buddy. But trust me, the cuddles and tail wags are totally worth it! I ’m all about meeting new people and animals—if there’s a party, you can bet I’m there, wagging my tail and soaking up the attention. Whether you’re new or a familiar face, I’ll greet you with my full puppy charm and enthusiasm. I can’t imagine being more social if I tried—everyone’s a friend in my book! 🌟🐶 Other dogs? Oh, I’m totally into them! I’ve got this knack for knowing which ones are up for a romp and which ones prefer a bit of space. When I met a dog my size, I was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement! We had the best play session ever! Cats? Oh, I’m fascinated! I walked right up to our resident feline with all the curiosity of a tiny explorer, and when she jumped onto the counter, I just stood there, wide-eyed and in awe. It’s like she’s a mysterious, majestic creature from another world! I’m not sure what all the fuss is about that the other dogs make about cats, but I’m definitely eager to make friends with them. I'm a pro at playing hard and napping even harder! I’ve got enough pep to turn any activity into a marathon event, but once the playtime’s over, I crash like a pro. Without another puppy around to help me burn off steam, I might seem like a whirlwind of energy, so unless you plan on taking me with you everywhere, hiking, and keeping me well-stimulated than it would probably be best for me to have another doggie playmate. Because without one, we are going to get you moving...whether you want to or not! ;) Active lifestyle? Count me in! I’ve got a ton of energy and enthusiasm to share. I spent my first seven weeks in a shelter, so I’m totally cool with crate time being my chill zone. But when it’s cuddle time on the couch, well, that’s just another excuse for a play session in my book! I’m ready to bring some zest and fun to a home where we can be on the go or snuggled up, whichever suits your fancy! 🐾🏃‍♂️💤 Fetch? Well, I’m still perfecting my “rolling ball” follow-through! I might not be a pro just yet, but I’m eager to learn. And who knows, one day I may just go from chasing rolling balls to catching them in the air like a champ. Just don’t be surprised if I occasionally get distracted by something really exciting, like a leaf or my own tail! 🐾🎾😄 Potty trained? Oh, I’m practically a bathroom pro..when it comes to the puppy doo doo's at least! When it comes to poops, I’m all set—no accidents here, just a tidy little pup with a can-do attitude. I’m learning the ropes and getting better every day when it comes to leave surprise puddles for my foster mom (oopsie), but for now, accidents are just part of my adorable, slightly messy charm! 🐾🚽🎨I am familiar with being kenneled. It is probably important to mention that I have a VIP kennel. Mine is more playpen style and its AWESOME! I can roam around a bit, play with my toys, and just hang out in my own little area. Now, I know you are waiting for me to tell you that I am not a chewer, but no can do senorita. I am just a pup after all and while I prefer my toys, I cannot promise that those mouth-watering TV remotes and smelly shoes won't find their way into my toy pile if they are left up for grabs. ;) Choose me as your forever companion, and let's paint our days with laughter and adventures. Together, we'll create a story filled with paw prints of happiness and love. Ready to make me a part of your pack? Let's wag our tails into a bright and wag-tastic future! Catch you on the sunny side! 🐶 Beacon 📍 Pickup Location: Broken Arrow, OK 📝 Adoption App: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Story
Hey there, future family! I’m Sully, a 5-month-old Aussie mix with a cuteness factor that could cause spontaneous "aww"s. I’m here to tell you a bit about myself—think of it as a personal interview but with more belly rubs and less awkward small talk. I came to PPFT after my owner could no longer keep me, and now I’m on the lookout for my forever home. First things first: I’m like a fluffy croissant—scrunchy, sweet, and always up for belly rubs. I have this nifty ability to flop onto the ground and lay low, which makes me the champion of cozy cuddles and chin rubs. If you’re ever wondering where I am, just look for the lump on the floor. It’s probably me. I’m a social butterfly, and my ideal home definitely has a few other dogs to share the fun with. I get along great with my furry friends, though I might be a tad bit annoying from time to time—think of me as the enthusiastic little sibling who just wants to join in on everything. If there’s a doggie playdate or a good game of fetch, count me in! Just don’t expect me to bring the ball back every time; I’m more of a “chase it and leave it there” kind of guy. Kids are awesome in my book. I’m always up for making new friends, and neighborhood kiddos have given me their stamp of approval. Now, about cats—well, I haven’t met any yet, but my curiosity and energy might just make me a feline friend. I’m still figuring out my feelings about them, but I think I’d do well with a bit of guidance. I’m a mix of energy and chill. I can sprint around and play with toys one minute, then flop on the floor for some serious cuddle time the next. On the leash, I’m like a GPS on the fritz—I’ll lead the way, but I might take a few detours. Hiking sounds like a blast, though, so let’s hit those trails together! I’ve got a thing for balls and chewy toys, but water? No thanks. I prefer to keep my fur dry and clean. As for car rides, I need a bit of a lift to get in (new things make me nervous), but once I’m settled, I’m a champion napper. I promise I won’t complain about car rides as long as there are belly rubs at the end of them. Potty and kennel trained? Check and check! I’ll let you know when I need something by giving a little whine, so no need to guess. And while I’m not a digger, I do have a knack for squeezing into tight spots, which is just part of my quirky charm. I do get a bit sassy when it’s time to go in my kennel, but hey, that’s just me asserting my inner diva. Once I’m tired, though, I’m out like a light, and you won’t hear a peep from me until I need something—be it water, a potty break, or just a bit of extra love. So, if you're ready to add a sprinkle of fun, a dash of snuggles, and a whole lot of cuteness to your life, I'm your guy! My heart’s big, my energy is just right, and my love for belly rubs knows no bounds. Let’s turn this chapter of my story into a happy ending together. Come meet me, and let’s start making some unforgettable memories! Your new best friend is waiting—are you ready for some Sully-style fun? 🐾💙 📍 Pickup Location: Oklahoma City, OK 📝 Adoption App: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3
