Story
Hi, I'm Stormi! I'm the most loving and cuddly dog you'll ever meet. Snuggling right on top of you is my favorite thing! I'm very smart and quick to learn new tricks—I already know sit, down, shake a paw, on your bed, kennel, come, and look at me. I wake up around 6 am for a quick pee, then I'm happy to go back to sleep. I eat special hydrolyzed protein food at 7:30 am and 6 pm due to my protein allergy. I love going for walks—sometimes three times a day! Mornings are the best because I get to play fetch and practice my commands off-leash at an outdoor skating rink. I also enjoy chewing on toys, playing with the hose, and learning new tricks. I'm well-behaved and only bark when I'm excited. I'm house-trained and kennel-trained, and I let you know when I need to go out by standing by the door. I'm almost trained to use a doorbell for this too! Because I’m part Heeler, I love to do my job, herding!! So I can be a bit much for some dogs as I am always trying to herd them. I'm looking for a home with an active person or family who can give me lots of exercise, mental stimulation, and cuddles. If you want a very intelligent and loving dog and have a loving heart, I think we could be perfect for each other. Love, Stormi P.S: My foster mom says I’m the most well behaved foster she has ever had, and calls me “angel baby” 😇 Love, Stormi

Story
Hi there, I'm Ivory, the silliest pup you'll ever meet! With my fluffy white fur sprinkled with adorable spots, I'm a bundle of playful energy just waiting to pounce! Wrestling and chasing the other dogs in my foster home are my favorite pastimes – nothing gets my tail wagging faster than a good game of tag! I'm a cuddle bug too, absolutely loving being scooped up for hugs and smothering my humans with kisses. Sleeping through the night? Piece of cake! And I'm getting the hang of this whole potty training thing, though sometimes I still get a little too excited. As I am deaf, learning basic commands through sign language is a hoot, but honestly, I pick up most things just by watching the other dogs strut their stuff. Adventure? That's my middle name! But I've got a secret: I'm really hoping to find a forever home with another doggy friend to show me the ropes and keep the fun going! Love, Ivory

Story
Hi Everyone! My name is Loon - but sometimes I answer to Lulu. I love playing with my foster sister and I really look up to her! I am very playful and maybe a little rambunctious, testing boundaries, learning what to chew vs what not to chew and full of personality! I am a very brave and independent pup. I love to explore, play with toys and the other dogs in the house or just zoom around the house or outside. I am an energetic girl who will make an awesome running, hiking, walking or active partner! My breed is guessed to be a mix of heeler and shepherd; both of which are high energy working dogs. This means I will do best if I have a ‘job’ or many ways to expel my energy and use my very smart brain! I am working on my sit command (but that’s really hard to do when your a playful puppy)! I can also jump very high! My fosters said I would likely enjoy (and benefit) from dog training classes such as agility, flyball, frisbee/disk, scent work or even just trick training! I love my food and am responding well to training with food. I am starting to sleep through the night in my kennel, and I am having less accidents. I’m looking for a family that can give me the best life and lots of love! See you soon! Love, Loon

Now accepting applications for Soda! Soda is a 2-3 year old spayed heeler/german shepherd. If you are interested in meeting Soda please go to our website at www.mjhs.ca and click the Adopt tab, then Adoptable Animals and scroll to her beautiful face to submit your application. Once your application has been approved we will contact you to come spend some time with Soda to be sure she is the right fit for you. If after meeting her, you decide she is no the dog for you, there is no obligation to complete the adoption process. We look forward to hearing from you! Soda is the happiest girlie, she has a perpetual smile on her face and is always up for a walk, run or cuddle. She is a bit bigger than a heeler and bit smaller than a shepherd. Both of her breeds are highly intelligent and Soda is quick to pick up on what you want her to do. Soda is used to being a city dog and sharing her home with a senior couple and 3 cats. Her human parents passed away just 2 weeks apart and she is a little lost without them. We are told that Soda is good with other dogs, but a meet and greet would be necessary if there is another dog in the home. Did we mention her ears? The are ginormous and so adorable! And her eyes! They are so focused, this girl is ready to learn whatever you want to teach her! Soda's adoption fee is $300, she is spayed, started on her vaccination schedule and microchipped. Can't adopt Soda yourself but still want to help? You can make a donation toward her care by clicking the following link and by sharing her post. Thank you for your support!
